3.0 - week three

WEEK THREE

Last night might have been exhausting for any number of reasons - maybe it was the emotional

toll of dealing with those ghosts, or maybe you stayed up too late after watching Jim Shrok. Who knows, but Saturday is over, even if some of you haven’t quite left it behind and half spirits that are still hanging on, tethered to you and weighing you down…

But that’s not going to stop a new week from starting. There’s no breaks in an eight week course.

There’s very little fanfare to the start of your third week of the course, though it does seem like the fog has lifted even more. It’s a bit more of a trek down the abandoned streets of Estelline, but surely a mile is walkable? Or you could grab a bike or try to hotwire one of those cars in the mall parking lot… Whatever you plan to do this week is up to you. All you know is you've got some new locations to explore.

[ After giving himself the whole day Sunday to wind down, Fai gets up early to start his day. He can be found in the cafeteria for most of the morning as he gets breakfast ready for himself. ]

Good morning~

[ He'll make breakfast for anyone who looks hungry...

Later on in the afternoon when Fai has made the trek out to the museum, he spends the bulk of his time in the natural history area. The reason for that is— ]

I've never seen any of these creatures before! Other worlds are fascinating.

[ Once he finishes up in the museum, Fai spends even more time at the clothing store. He has a whole pile of clothes in his arms. After all, it's free!

He glances over at whoever else happens to be in the store with him, assessing their choice of clothing. ]

It'll be nice to wear something without that school logo front and center, won't it?

[ It's a good time to be able to walk outside. Hien has been recovering by wearing the cozy sweater, taking it off and putting it back on every 30 minutes or so. No pain, no gain? No pain, all gain. Fai didn't have to deal with Hien's physical pain for so long and he is finally free of bandages all over his body. Thank god. He looks relatively normal now.

So that's why it isn't a big deal to walk alongside Fai as they head to the museum. Hien is pretty sure that it's different from the way they were in, but he still a little unsure despite that.

But it's nothing to be concerned about. ]

Let's steal a bike next time.

[ Fai is incredibly grateful for the sweater since it seems like Hien can't seem to be bothered to stay careful. He's also decided to drop the fake happy act around Hien. So, there's no smile on his face as they walk, despite the walk being relatively pleasant. ]

Are you willing to teach me how to ride one?

[ There's no use for bikes in a snowy, mountainous area so of course Fai never learned. ]

[ He doesn't know what it's called. ]

I've never seen anything like 'em before. They kinda remind me of dragons! Makes ya wonder about some of the old stories, doesn't it?

(Like, maybe the Dragon King is actually more like a plesiosaur?!)

I was thinking of dragons as well.

[ He looks up at one of the bigger dinosaurs. ]

I'm sure dragons in some worlds were really these guys.

Never really thought much about other worlds but... yeah, I'm sure.

(He nods,)

There's still a lot about my own I still don't know, though. I wanna know if we had these creatures before.

[Idia hasn't stepped inside the cafeteria his whole time here. He's been living purely off of convenience store instant food and a blessed metabolism that can make it work. So, why is he here? ... W- Well, maybe... to get food for someone else.]

[he peeks in, gets greeted, then almost immediately ducks his head back out the door- d- damn! of course! other people use the services!]

[... but that was- r- right, that was who he had played games with, and-]

[the Saturday memories of being possesses were still pretty hazy but hadn't Hien said "pretty sure Fai [cares about you] too"? ... w- well, okay, that's a little embarrassing to think about. Still, given a minute to collect his thoughts, he'll pop his head back in,]

... G- good morning...

[ Fai is actually a little surprised to see Idia pop back in. He grins. ]

It’s good to see you, Idia. Would you like anything for breakfast?

[he caaaa~refully opens the door, slides in, and closes it behind him]

... Um... [walking a bit closer, trying to think how to word it,]

... y- you wouldn't happen to know any breakfast that's like... "feel better soon" energy, do you...?

[Like, something with a +50% to HP and an EXP Boost for the next 45 minutes?]

[ Miach is tempted to ignore him, truly. Anyone who is so bright this early is up to no good, probably. On the other hand... she might get some food out of this? And food is always good. She's not eaten a whole lot yesterday, since she'd been busy sleeping for most of it. ]

... morning. You seem to be in a good mood.

[ Miach is right. Morning people are never up to any good… ]

I am! I got lots of rest yesterday.

[ He desperately needed it. ]

How are you doing this morning?

Awfully - though I have been worse.

[ She's smiling faintly as she says it though. ]

Sleeping off the all nighter we pulled on Saturday is one thing, but all that we learned is another entirely. You're not bothered?

[ Luci flops onto the counter of the cafeteria more like he doesn't want to be conscious right now. No matter what Fai is already cooking up, Luci responds to good morning with a grunt and -- ]

'Sup croissant. You know how to make omelette rice?

[ Fai grins down at him. ]

Sure do! One of my traveling companions taught me how to make it. Is that what you're in the mood for?

Leave the shells in.

[ Luci orders, but it's so lazy that it's hard to take seriously. Followed by almost mumbling, bordering on grumbling-- ]

Everyone knows that dumb recipe.

[ But him!! Since he didn't get to see Sabo make it. Which means, he is openly watching this process. ]

I never took to wearing much of the clothing we had previous access to but...

[ he'll eye the pile of clothes that fai has helped himself to.

You sure aren't holding back on what we're able to take until they tell us we can't, are you?

Nope! I'm used to paying for a whole new set of clothes whenever I get to a new world, so I'm going to take all that I can right now.

[ He is very thankful for the free clothes. ]

[ you know what? he respects that. power to you fai. ]

How did you even decide on what to grab?

I'm not used to thinking too much about what to wear. I try to keep things standard given my work.

[ despite saying this, he'll be fumbling around with an ivy cap. ]

...Was it that much of a problem?

[He says, while picking out a bunch of arbitrary shit in neutral colors that seem comfortable. With that said, there's currently a short scarf in his hand, but some of the other items slung on his other arm are casualwear, with a couple of high collar shirts.]

It got a little old, don’t you think?

[ He eyes all of the clothes Shin has in his arms. ]

Actually, I think you might have been tired of the clothes in the bookstore too, what with all your picks.

[He cocks his head slightly.]

I wouldn't say that... But it is easier to have a full set of clothes to wear. And some of those outfits didn't fit the weather.

[He says this despite being in full uniform but shush.]

Fascinating, yes. But are we very certain they're not animate?

[Between the museum experience of Saturday and the bone dragons of his world, Phantom is looking a little more skeptical about this branch of the museum. It's not enough to keep him out of here, but he looks ready to book it if something moves.]

Oh, yes! I’m sure I would have been eaten by now!
