3.0 - week three

WEEK THREE

Last night might have been exhausting for any number of reasons - maybe it was the emotional

toll of dealing with those ghosts, or maybe you stayed up too late after watching Jim Shrok. Who knows, but Saturday is over, even if some of you haven’t quite left it behind and half spirits that are still hanging on, tethered to you and weighing you down…

But that’s not going to stop a new week from starting. There’s no breaks in an eight week course.

There’s very little fanfare to the start of your third week of the course, though it does seem like the fog has lifted even more. It’s a bit more of a trek down the abandoned streets of Estelline, but surely a mile is walkable? Or you could grab a bike or try to hotwire one of those cars in the mall parking lot… Whatever you plan to do this week is up to you. All you know is you've got some new locations to explore.

Well, at least in some worlds. Maybe yours was different. I dunno. It depends on the socio-economical environment as well as technological advances.

[ Hien sounds smart for once. ]

[ He ruffles Hien’s hair. ]

Twins were no good in my world.

[ Which world? That’s for Hien to guess. ]

It’s nice to see happy paintings.

[ And that’s all Fai will say about that before he moves onto one of some sort of battle. ]

[ Well, now Hien knows that twins were something that hits a sore spot for Fai, considering how quickly he moved on. He doesn't say anything, quickly fixes his hair and follows Fai. ]

Say, have you ever gotten on a dragon before?

Just a small one… they functioned like mounts for Kuro-sama and I when we fought battles in one world.

[ He glances at Hien. ]

Would it be like in this picture?

[ Fai on a majestic dragon steed, shooting arrows to snipe enemies from a distance! Majestic. ]

Oh, so you think I'd look majestic?

Yeah. Dignified too.

[ Like an ideally portrayed prince.

He doesn't say that. ]

Dignified? You really think I could be?

[ Does it look like he has a single dignified bone in his body!!! ]

Yeah. I can show you one day.

[ He sounds pretty confident in that too. ]

One day, huh? Why not now?

[ They're basically alone, so if Hien is going to pose him or something, he has no reason to be embarrassed... ]

I think you'll gain a news perspective too.

You're so secretive!

[ He lightly smacks Hien on the shoulder before he smiles. ]

Make it something for me to look forward to.

Of course I will. Who do you think I am?

[ When he sets his sights on something, he'll do it!

C'mon. Let's go look at more stuff.

[ He latches back onto Hien's arm again, letting him decide where they're going this time. ]

What kind of art do you like?

[ Hm.

Hien thinks about it for a while while he wanders around with Fai in tow. ]

Art is really broad...

[ He squints. ]

Do you mean what kinda paintings I like?

[partymagician]

Sure. Or sculptures.

[ He can narrow it down to those two, at least. ]

I want to see your tastes.

If it's about sculptures... you know those kinds where it looks like there's a translucent sheet and you reach out to touch it, but it's just a part of the rock? It looks so soft... but it's a rock. The disorienting feeling when you touch it is really nice, but a little confusing.

[ It's so cool to Hien. The level of skill is so high that he can't help but be marveled by it. ]

[ don't u think he's also..... marbled by it ]

Ah, I do! It takes a lot of skill, doesn't it? I really admire anyone who is so dedicated to something that they can achieve something so difficult.

[selfconcept]

Marble sculpting is not among the things I know how to do correctly, so I can respect that. The amount of mistakes I'd make... is something I don't wanna think about.

[ Anyway. ]

If it's painting, I like the ones whose eyes seem to follow you.

[ Finally, something Hien can't do! But it's not like Fai can do it either. ]

You like creepy things like that?

[ Hmm... he thinks that suits Hien, honestly. ]

... I don't find it creepy.

[ Yeah. ]

It just makes it look like the painting has life and I think it's pretty cool. I like... unexpected things.

[partymagician]

Because you've lived for so long, right? You want things that take you by surprise.

[ That's his guess... it makes sense to Fai, at least. ]

Hm... yeah.

[ He nods too. ]

I like being surprised... in a good way.

[ Hien leads Fai to the third floor. It feels nice having Fai hug his arm like this... ]

Surprised in a good way, huh...

[ Should Fai make him something to eat one day? Hien could use some nice surprises in his life right now. ]

[ Fai looks at the displays on the third floor with interest, taking in whatever he can. ]

[ He looks over at the giant dinosaur skeletons, and points to the t-rex one. ]

If I can go inside its mouth, take a picture for me.
