3.0 - week three

WEEK THREE

Last night might have been exhausting for any number of reasons - maybe it was the emotional

toll of dealing with those ghosts, or maybe you stayed up too late after watching Jim Shrok. Who knows, but Saturday is over, even if some of you haven’t quite left it behind and half spirits that are still hanging on, tethered to you and weighing you down…

But that’s not going to stop a new week from starting. There’s no breaks in an eight week course.

There’s very little fanfare to the start of your third week of the course, though it does seem like the fog has lifted even more. It’s a bit more of a trek down the abandoned streets of Estelline, but surely a mile is walkable? Or you could grab a bike or try to hotwire one of those cars in the mall parking lot… Whatever you plan to do this week is up to you. All you know is you've got some new locations to explore.

Nope! I'm used to paying for a whole new set of clothes whenever I get to a new world, so I'm going to take all that I can right now.

[ He is very thankful for the free clothes. ]

[ you know what? he respects that. power to you fai. ]

How did you even decide on what to grab?

I'm not used to thinking too much about what to wear. I try to keep things standard given my work.

[ despite saying this, he'll be fumbling around with an ivy cap. ]

I started with color, then went with style.

[ Lots of jeans and fashionable t-shirts in his pile of clothes. A few button-ups too. ]

I usually try to match the fashion in whatever world I end up in, but that doesn’t seem to matter much here, so I’m trying whatever looks fun.

Seems like a logical way to approach fitting in with the locals of a new place. The fashion is made up by what we've decided to wear and brought with us, I think.

[ which is sure a mixed bag; he'll plop the cap onto his head before responding. it's no top hat but it doesn't feel too strange for him. ]

If I were to start with color... [ hmmm. ] I'd probably go with something either blue or black.

[ you know, given how those are the predominate colors that he is wearing. white, blue, black...sometimes you have a color palette that you're a fan of and don't swerve away from it. ]

Or should I go with something different?

[ Fai gives him a onceover. ]

You like nice in those colors, but... try some dark purple. I think that would look nice on you too. Or red.

Purple? [ he hasn't thought of that. ] I guess I could try it.

[ he has actually never worn purple but he'll grab a long sleeved button up that fits a "dark purple" but maybe a bit more on the maroonish side and holds it up against his person. hm. it's.

different? not the bad kind of different but just...different. ]

I'm not baring myself from wearing red but it is the color my brothers wear more so than me.

[ Today's focus is on purple! He nods approvingly when Sabo holds that shirt up against himself. ]

[ it sure is! and with that he'll go get changed in a pretty quick manner. out with the black long sleeved top, vest, and cravat for...just a button up. ]

I'm not sure how I feel about it.

[ no double breasted vest. no cravat. not black or blue. he feels too dressed down... but maybe that's not a bad thing?? not all new things are bad. ]

[ Hmmm... ]

Undo two of the buttons.

[ Fai mimics the motion on himself. He'd just outright go up to Sabo and undo the buttons himself, but he doesn't want to step on Ace's toes here... ]

[ what about ace's toes?? but sabo will frown as he considers what fai is suggesting here. he's familiar with the look but—well, he doesn't have any burn scars where he's exposing so i guess it's fine.

cue the two button pop. ]

[ i can't believe he feels exposed like this. ]

[ Fai nods, looking Sabo over again. ]

I like it! This look suits you really well!

[ hmm. ]

I feel like I should be wearing more, but that might be a result of me used to wearing more. [ that said, he's going to roll up the sleeves so that they're half way up his arms. this is truly a look for him and it's...refreshing? ] It's not too plain like this?

[ Fai shakes his head. ]

Not at all! This is a classic look in a lot of worlds. Many well-dressed men wear something very similar.

[ And he also likes the look a lot in general. ]

I'd like to be able to say the same. Fashion differs wildly from island to island in my world, and most pirates tend to be very flashy.

[ actually a lot of people in his world generally are pretty flashy. ...huh. he's never stopped to think about it until this very moment. then again there were pirates also like ace who wore only the necessary amount of clothing. hmmm. ]

But I'll trust your judgement. [ his wardrobe is in your hands, fai. ] Any other recommendations? If you've grabbed yourself a pile, maybe I should stock up on a few items myself.

[ He gestures to some of the jeans in his little pile. ]

You can't go wrong with those. T-shirts too, for anything comfortable.

[ Fai has a couple of very slightly cropped shirts in his pile, but he won't make Sabo go for those since he's well aware that's not everyone's style. ]

[ cropped shirts would definitely a bold statement for sabo if he were ever going to make one. though they are interesting to him, since, you know fai is already gesturing to his pile, sabo might as well take a look at what the contents are. ]

More form fitting clothes.

[ he means the jeans. though he looks at some leggings that fai also ended up picking up for himself. ]

I imagine if I left wearing some of these things, it would be a bit of a shock to Ace.

[ Fai will even thumb through some of his clothes so that Sabo can get a better look at them. ]

A good or a bad shock...?

[ don't apologize but sabo goes to answer thinking that he would have the answer but—

he doesn't actually know. rather, he isn't entirely sure. part of him wants to say it would be a bad kind of shock but would it? would it really be a bad shock..?

how would ace react to it? ]

I'm not sure.

[ would he just shrug it off? ]

I think it would just be a shock.

That means he needs to see you! Make him come look at clothes with you.

[ He grins. ]

Or just wear this outfit back.

I wouldn't call Ace here just to watch me change.

[ THAT SEEMS EXCESSIVE? also weird..? but also would save him some awkwardness (WAIT WHY IS IT AWKWARD NOW) about walking around in leggings.

Would those even work with the shirt that I'm wearing now?

[ button up....with leggings.... sabo exposed. ]

I bet my partner would come here if I called him, so don't feel bad about doing that!

[ And it wouldn't be awkward for Fai! It'd be weird, but not awkward. ]

[ He pulls out some dark wash skinny jeans from his pile. ]

Would he? I kind of feel bad for Hien, but it'll be okay. I'll leave Ace out of this.

[ and look, not everyone can be like fai. case in point, he'll look at the skinny jeans and really take a look at them. they're not unfamiliar to him since there are others who wear things like that.

fai sure is enjoying putting him clothes that show off his form, huh? not that sabo hides his physique but he's never thought of showing it off. wait, is this showing it off?? ]

I guess those are better than the other thing I saw.

[ He is absolutely trying to get Sabo to show off his form, albeit in a classy sort of way. It's a good look! ]

Oh, what was the other thing you saw?

[ seen in week four, sabo dressed down form fitting clothes but also giving off a business casual kind of vibe. say goodbye to double breasted vests, long coats, and cravats. ]

[ he was referring to the leggings but might as well point those out to fai too since it fits. ]

[ Fai will be so happy... ]

Oh. These shirts?

[ He knows they're a little shorter than most shirts, but he doesn't know the right term for them. ]
