WEEK SIX

Sunday starts with more aches and pains than you might be used to. Florence patched people up after Saturday’s lesson, sure, but it’s not a complete cure - not to mention it doesn’t ease the sting of betrayal. Some classmates that you thought would cooperate wound up breaking your trust in the end, and this week will be interesting with the fallout.

It’s hard to say what this week will have in store otherwise. Things are changing, and it’s not clear what this means for all of you. On the bright side, however, the creatures and places you once knew from home have suddenly disappeared, so that's less that you need to worry about. There are new areas for you to look at as well.

[With setup complete, and Madara out on a mission to round people up, it is... time to get things started. Florence also does send out a message saying there's an ✨ice cream social✨ being held in the common area, just in case anyone who wasn't in the dorm wants to show up.

With that all handled, it's time to get down to business.]

I would like to discuss some of the recent events, from this last lesson, the break ins into Camellia, and the abduction of a Camellia employee.

Because I can control what data goes in and out. Lorelei's physical presence is not within hearing range, after all, and she cannot undo what she does not know needs to be done.

It seems that the abduction of the employee has lead to claims that the student body is, quote, "out of control and proof the experiment is the flawed option".

And they can't, like, take you apart and pull a recording out of you?

Camellia does not have anyone on staff intelligent enough to be able to decode the data I have saved.

Totally not. They're a robot. They would never.]

Data stored within my body will also be destroyed once my core is disconnected from the rest of my chassis. It's a standard insurance policy, of sorts.

So... what part of what we've been dealing with is Lorelei, and what part is Camellia? Like, who had the idea to do which weird things? Or who ordered them, maybe?

The project was concepted by Lorelei, and is predominately being run by her. However, due to their investment, interest in the results, and Lorelei's employment with Camellia, they have decided to interfere. That is why the escalation on Saturday that went beyond what we intended.

[He's not here for ice cream, but after some point it's pretty hard to ignore how there's a bunch of people gathering in the common room.]

How much influence does Camellia have over this project?

More than Lorelei wants. It was their idea to have a more intense and painful lesson for Saturday, after all, though... I believe that was more because of pushing Lorelei than them providing an outline for the lesson.

Regarding "the worst possible scenario," as you mentioned to Hien, did that dictate the points in time from which to take us?

I believe so. I was not a part of the selection process, but... there were deliberate choices made in accordance to what would provide the "best" results for her research.

Do you have any insight on how to gain more access into a deeper part of their facilities?

[affligere]

[Hm.]

The easiest way would to be to find the identification of someone with a high-level of clearance, but it may be possible to modify a keycard to have a higher level of security clearance in order to get access to them.

... eh, [Idia was coaxed out (trudging behind a Cater getting bridal carried) and has been listening but the teenage male brain is definitely more focused on himself than anything else.]

... really, I don't care who's getting along with who or your research results...

But if we're being blunt... is there still a planned end date for this "course" and can we even pass it? What I care about is getting home.

Without any more interference, the course should only last for another three weeks, give or take.
