WEEK SIX

Sunday starts with more aches and pains than you might be used to. Florence patched people up after Saturday’s lesson, sure, but it’s not a complete cure - not to mention it doesn’t ease the sting of betrayal. Some classmates that you thought would cooperate wound up breaking your trust in the end, and this week will be interesting with the fallout.

It’s hard to say what this week will have in store otherwise. Things are changing, and it’s not clear what this means for all of you. On the bright side, however, the creatures and places you once knew from home have suddenly disappeared, so that's less that you need to worry about. There are new areas for you to look at as well.

Do you like ice cream?

No. I have no way to process organic materials at this moment in time, nor do I have any way to register taste. The ice cream is not for me, though, it is for you and the other students.

Oh... There are also some things I can't eat.

[ Nods. They're not in the same boat, but adjacent boats maybe. In different lakes. ]

[Chongyun is doing his best and it is appreciated.]

Oh? I have looked into that phenomenon. Allergies are quite common.

Similar, but not quite an allergy. I guess I should have said I can't eat food that are warm or hot. Or spicy.

[ Ugh, Jueyun Chilis. ]

... Even so, I hope to one day conquer this condition of mine. And I hope one day you will be able to enjoy some ice cream.

That sounds much more limiting than typical food allergies...

[How strange... they've never heard of anything about this before.]

...It may be possible, but it is enough if you eat some and it brings a small measure of comfort in these times.

[They're not offering an egg, but they are offering ice cream which? Close enough? In these trying times?]

… This ice cream does make me feel a little better. I used to be able to carry popsicles on me because my powers would keep them frozen indefinitely - and they always made me feel better. So thank you for the effort.

If at least one person feels better, it was effort well spent.
