06 - week six
WEEK SIX
Sunday starts with more aches and pains than you might be used to. Florence patched people up after Saturday’s lesson, sure, but it’s not a complete cure - not to mention it doesn’t ease the sting of betrayal. Some classmates that you thought would cooperate wound up breaking your trust in the end, and this week will be interesting with the fallout.
It’s hard to say what this week will have in store otherwise. Things are changing, and it’s not clear what this means for all of you. On the bright side, however, the creatures and places you once knew from home have suddenly disappeared, so that's less that you need to worry about. There are new areas for you to look at as well.

First is an investigation at the supermarket. He heard from Fai that there was a person in here, so he tries to find him in the back room first.
Otherwise, he'll be at the home improvement store, looking at the large selection of wood he can cut with a handsaw that he has in his hands. Sorry that he looks menacing, but at least he looks approachable with the university cozy sweater he got on despite it being summer-like? ]
Are birdhouses still in style?
[ Like a true grandpa.
Anyway, you can wildcard me too!!! ]

Hien looks over at the organized stacks of food and wonders if he can take them with him... Anyway, he grabs the paper to see what's written on it. ]

The date is early 5/926 - around a week before you arrived. ]

Hien goes to see if there's anything interesting in the blanket fort. Maybe an apocalyptic journal of some sort? He wonders if he should get a DNA sample... ]

That said, she'll do her best to not acknowledge this. Or the events of this weekend, really. ]
Is that really something that matters when making one?

[ Hien sounds the same as ever, since he put the betrayal behind him. He personally doesn't care about it—it was just Owen that pissed him off because he was gloating. ]
Was thinking about making it for a gift.

For Fai? Or has someone else caught your eye?

... ]
No, it's for Phantom's birthday.
[ He thinks about how he'd probably like something smaller. Hm... ]
You want something too? I can try making it for you.
no subject
... oh right, that's today.
[ The birthday info is definitely the part of the profiles she has memorized the least. ]
No thanks, I'm good. I do wonder if Phantom is the bird-watching type though...

Were they ever in style?
[ He genuinely doesn't know, but he is also trying to antagonize Hien. ]

[ Shots fired back!! ]
I'm tryna think of something for Phantom's gift.
no subject
[ No. He barely knows what a trend is. ]
Hmmm... do you think he'd like watching birds? The thought of it is kind of funny.
no subject
[ Poor Phantom... even bullied in Hien's imagination. ]
no subject
[ Hien, be nice!!! ]
Do you know of any hobbies he has? Why don't you start with something he already likes?

home improvement store;
[ DIY bird house making surely is in style somewhere... ]

[ He waves with the hand that isn't holding a handsaw. ]
Yeah, kinda like a cuckoo clock. But if you have better project ideas, I'm open to those too.
no subject
[ He would like to see it. Because the potential for annoying someone for funsies is pretty up there, honestly. ]
...I don't think I can think much of anything, besides maybe putting together a simple wooden instrument or something like that?
no subject
[ A flute? Hm. ]
That requires a lot of precise measuring. If it's even a little off, the whole thing will sound off-key.
[ Is he that meticulous about making things? Maybe. ]
Would you want something like that?
no subject
...Oh yes, I would.
I thought it'd be a good opportunity to practice some skill at making music, you know? It's fine, if it comes out off-key. Especially so.
[ For prime noise-making pranking opportunity.
Sure there are there's that other thing like maybe an otamatone?? But maybe a unique annoying sound would be great too. Particularly since his skill in playing instruments is definitely lacking!! ]

[ He gives Hien a faint smile. ]
If you want to create it, then I see no reason to not. Adhering to what's "in style" is terribly restrictive, I've found.
no subject
[ Sorry, Phantom...
He looks at Gentaro as if thinking. Hm. Hmmm. ]
I'll just have to go with a hollowed out book replica then.
[ Gentaro's presence gave him a good idea. ]
no subject
That sounds like a wonderful idea. Quite versatile, too, as it can store many things. Secrets, blackmail, snacks...
no subject
[ Gentaro??? Please. Though Hien looks slightly amused. ]
Phantom is a magic user too—a squishy magician. A book sounds fitting in that case, since he likes reading and that some magicians use tomes.
