06 - week six

WEEK SIX

Sunday starts with more aches and pains than you might be used to. Florence patched people up after Saturday’s lesson, sure, but it’s not a complete cure - not to mention it doesn’t ease the sting of betrayal. Some classmates that you thought would cooperate wound up breaking your trust in the end, and this week will be interesting with the fallout.

It’s hard to say what this week will have in store otherwise. Things are changing, and it’s not clear what this means for all of you. On the bright side, however, the creatures and places you once knew from home have suddenly disappeared, so that's less that you need to worry about. There are new areas for you to look at as well.

[ Fai would pick a scenic place, at the very least!!! ]

Why? Since I'd say something like "good thing we're here, because we'll need to work on a home that we'll live together in for the rest of our lives"?

I think that's a little too romantic for you. I picture you just turning to me and saying, "let's get married".

[ He pauses painting, turns to Fai--still with the faceshield helmet over his head and says: ]

Sure. Let's get married.

[ Then he goes back to painting. ]

[ Hien????

You can't just say that to him!!! All Fai can do is stand there, dumbfounded. ]

[ Hien just continues painting. Finally. Some silence--just kidding. He didn't do it for the silence, but he is still working on his painting task. ]

[ He watches Hien for a while before finally speaking up. ]

I don't know if you're serious or not, but I'm really not marriage material.

[ He has too much baggage. ]

The fuck is "marriage material", some sort of requirements you need in order to be married?

[ It doesn't sound like he believes in that. ]

I don't know! I know you said you were only interested in long term, but...

[ Marriage feels different to him. There's a distinction. ]

I have a lot wrong with me.

[ Not really what he meant to say, but it's fine. ]

So do I. Am I undeserving of a married life because of that?

[ Fai................ ]

No, I think you're very deserving of it!

[ God. He can't even think straight right now. Why do you do this to him, Hien? ]

Good. So it's only right that you get married to me. I'm very "deserving" of it, after all.

I... don't know what to say to that.

[ He's really seeing the side of Hien that's an absolute menace now. ]

Hien just smiles to himself and continues to paint. ]

[ He lets out a soft sigh, but it’s affectionate. Guess they’ll get married at some point… he thinks. ]

Your smile is so nice.

So is yours when you mean it.

[ Absolutely no hesitation. ]

Well, I do mean it when you're around.

The smile you had just now... was it just a reflex?

[ There's some sort of playful tone in his voice. Looks like Fai has some homework to do. ]

[ That just makes him laugh. ]

[ He likes Hien in most instances, but this? This is nice. ]

Full of mischief? Getting a reaction out of you?

Both. I feel like I'm seeing more sides of you.

[ And maybe less hollowness?? ]

You can see them at any time.

[ He's saying that Fai has the power to make Hien feel that way. ]

[ Ah... that makes his heart beat a little faster, but he doesn't let it show on his face. ]

Can I see other sides of you too?

If you can manage to bring them out, yeah.

[ There. Now he takes a break so that the paint can dry. It's quick dry paint, so he doesn't have to wait long. ]

I'll be rooting for you.

[ Now that Hien is free, Fai reaches out to hug him from the side. It’s awkward with the face shield, but whatever. ]
