05 - week five

WEEK FIVE

Come Sunday morning, the portals around Estelline fade away, but not all of the oddities hanging around disappear so quickly. The recreations of your dreams and memories are still around, ever changing and shifting. Whatever it is that brought these things here hasn’t ended, not yet.

You don’t have time to worry about all of that, though, even if you know you should exercise caution once two of you found yourselves on the bad end of a monster’s claws. The course still isn’t over, though, even if the portals changed lesson plans. Everything continues on, with new places to explore as the fog pushes back once again. This week still feels a little more like what you’re familiar with, though, after Saturday’s lack of lessons.

Really now? I don't think I believe you.

[ Is he goading Hien on? Absolutely. ]

[ Hien brings Fai close since they're still holding hands and spins him into his hold and dips him as if he's doing some fancy ballroom dance. ]

Sure, Fai.

[partymagician]

[ That takes Fai by surprise, but all he does is momentarily widen his eyes as he finds himself dipped. Then he smiles up at Hien. ]

Hmmm, I still don't believe you. This is more romantic than anything.

[selfconcept]

That's funny, since I didn't do it with romantic intentions.

[ Hien lifts Fai back up so that he standing. ]

[partymagician]

Well, it came across that way.

[ But Fai isn't surprised, since Hien doesn't seem to be romantic. He sort of just... does things. ]

But now I'd like to see you do something with romantic intentions.

[selfconcept]

[ Well, he's right. ]

I'm not good at doing things with romantic intentions in mind, so you'll be disappointed.

[ Truly head empty no thoughts ]

[partymagician]

[ He laughs. ]

I don't know if this is a surprise or not, but I'm not a romantic person. Gestures are nice, but I care more about sincerity than I do romance.

... Aren't romantic gestures supposed to be sincere?

[ ????? ]

[partymagician]

They aren’t always.

[ Anyway. ]

I care most about sincerity. As long as you mean something, I don’t need roses or a fancy wine.

[selfconcept]

But you'd like it all the same, right?

[ He's skating several laps around the rink with Fai in tow now... ]

As much as I like the date, it feels lifeless here without anyone else.

[partymagician]

[ It kind of does, even if Fai made sure to turn up the generic pop music as soon as they got in. The novelty of being here on their own wore off fast. ]

Should we do something else?

[selfconcept]

We can...

[ Hien stops, looking down with a thoughtful look on his face. ]

We can go check out the weird stuff that popped up lately.

[partymagician]

Oh, like the electronic store?

[ He's not going to consider the Camellia building because that won't make a fun date. ]

[selfconcept]

[ He would usually think the electronic store isn't a fun date either, but getting Fai more familiar with things might help, so. ]

Sure. Maybe I can wear skates the entire time.

[partymagician]

[ He eyes Hien after he says that, before smiling. ]

Can you carry me and skate at the same time?

[selfconcept]

[ Hien sweeps Fai off his feet while pressing down the brakes of the skates on his heels and carries him in his arms. Then he goes to do a lax lap around the rink.

Hopefully that answers Fai's question. ]

[partymagician]

[ He's very amused as Hien skates around the rink with Fai in his arms. ]

Heh. I wonder if I should just let you carry me everywhere.

[selfconcept]

I mean... I can.

[ His strong point is endurance. ]

[partymagician]

You're so strong. Exactly how I like my men.

[ This is definitely worth dropping him over. ]

[selfconcept]

[ ...

Fai doesn't get dropped. He gets isolated on the edge fence of the skating rink with Hien placing him there. Bye. ]

[partymagician]

[ Fai just laughs, lightly swinging his legs. This is his seat now. ]

What? Don't like being my type?

[selfconcept]

Not when you put it like that...

[ All Fai did was say that his type was strong men. It feels weird to get worked up about it, but that's just how he feels at the moment. ]

[partymagician]

Put it like what...?

[ He isn't sure what it was he said that would get Hien worked up. ]

[selfconcept]

I dunno. It's just the way you said it.

[ Hien returns after lapping around once. ]

It was very suggestive.

[partymagician]

Well... even then, it wouldn't be wrong.

[ Just saying.

He's still content to sit where Hien put him, swinging his legs as he rests his hands on the half wall. ]
