05 - week five

WEEK FIVE

Come Sunday morning, the portals around Estelline fade away, but not all of the oddities hanging around disappear so quickly. The recreations of your dreams and memories are still around, ever changing and shifting. Whatever it is that brought these things here hasn’t ended, not yet.

You don’t have time to worry about all of that, though, even if you know you should exercise caution once two of you found yourselves on the bad end of a monster’s claws. The course still isn’t over, though, even if the portals changed lesson plans. Everything continues on, with new places to explore as the fog pushes back once again. This week still feels a little more like what you’re familiar with, though, after Saturday’s lack of lessons.

[ Fai leans on him as Hien starts to make his way back to the dorms. ]

Is there anything else you want to do?

[ Hien looks around while walking back. ]

I wanna see some of these.

[ He points to a big mechanical being... perhaps it resembles a dog to some people. ]

Oh, that's Fido.

Fido?

[ He tilts his head. ]

What an interesting looking robot.

Yeah. Fido is Shin's companion. It can react to emotions too, and it acts like a dog.

[ ... ]

Fido is usually a common dog name.

Oh, how cute!

[ So Shin has a robot dog…

Fai leans his head against Hien. ]

Do you like that name for dogs?

It's alright, I guess.

I'm actually pretty bad at naming stuff. I'd name a dog Snowball.

That’s a cute name!

[ He reaches up to lightly pinch Hien’s nose. ]

I would name a dog Pinky.

[ Ugh. Hien tries to shake his head to get Fai's fingers off his nose. Stop this, fiend!! ]

Why that?

[ Thankfully he stops, moving his hand down to rest on Hien's chest instead. ]

It's cute. Don't you agree?

[ He'd gesture to his pinky, but he's carrying Fai right now. That's why he tries to nibble on Fai's pinky instead. Somehow. This will probably be a dexterity challenge. ]

[ He laughs, trying to wrestle his finger away from Hien's mouth. Though, honestly, he's impressed by his ability to even do that while carrying him. ]

No, like the color.

Hien lets go of his pinky and stands up straight again. ]

Then why not name it Rosy? Rosy cheeks. Pink.

Oh, that's cute! See, you are good at names!

[ And now he shoves his fingers in Hien's face. Have at it, you monster. ]

[ Hien is so... taken aback? Confused? What's happening.

He bites one of his fingers anyway. ]

[ He just laughs. ]

Do you like chewing on fingers?

[ He lets go. ]

[ Fai just smiles, setting his hand back down in his lap. ]

You said I was sweet before. And here I was, thinking you didn't really care for sweet things.

[ Hmph... ]

So, what am I? Bitter? Sour?

[ He's going for the opposite of sweet now... ]

[ That's all he'll say about that!!! No more. He even lightly headbutts him. ]

[ He just grins at the headbutt. ]

Walk faster! I want to get back to the dorms!

[ Hien will even pick up the pace. To the dorms they go! ]
