WEEK FIVE

Come Sunday morning, the portals around Estelline fade away, but not all of the oddities hanging around disappear so quickly. The recreations of your dreams and memories are still around, ever changing and shifting. Whatever it is that brought these things here hasn’t ended, not yet.

You don’t have time to worry about all of that, though, even if you know you should exercise caution once two of you found yourselves on the bad end of a monster’s claws. The course still isn’t over, though, even if the portals changed lesson plans. Everything continues on, with new places to explore as the fog pushes back once again. This week still feels a little more like what you’re familiar with, though, after Saturday’s lack of lessons.

[ And, yet again, there is another announcement - at 8am this time, sorry - on the tablets. This time it's from Lorelei, and it's a video. She seems fine, all things considered. ]

Good morning. This is an announcement to inform you all that due to some results of the survey, we will be doing a team building exercise for tomorrow's lesson. This will be on-campus; therefore, the courtyard is blocked off today to allow time for set up.

[ The courtyard has been blocked off today and Hien wanted to go and check it out. But then again, he decides that a date at the skating rink was long overdue, so here they are. Hien is putting on some rented skates while seated on the cushiony seat. ]

You should have brought those cowboy skates. It would look funnier if you had a ten gallon hat to go with it.

[ Yeehaw. ]

[ Fai is putting on some of the rented skates too—a light blue pair. ]

You'd prefer that over me looking cute?

[ Because he did put effort into his outfit today, with skinny jeans and a shirt that, while a little long to be cropped, is still a little bit short as the hem stops right above the waist of his pants. ]

You'd look cute anyway, so.

[ Yeah. No hesitation. Hien is done putting his skates on and goes over to Fai—he looks good. Hien is wearing one of the sets Fai picked out with a top button off his shirt. ]

You got it?

Help me up.

[ He holds out his hands so Hien will hoist him up, even though he's absolutely got it. ]

You look nice too.

[ Hien grabs his hands and pulls him up. ]

You picked it out for me, after all.

[ He leads Fai over to the skate rink. ]

I did! I have great taste, don't I?

[ Fai doesn't have any problems with balancing whatsoever as Hien leads him over. ]

Sure do.

[ He notices that Fai doesn't have any problems and looks at him. ]

... Ice skating experience?

Yep! It would be a shame to be from such a cold place and have no ice skating experience, right?

[ He smiles at Hien, just shy of a smirk. ]

A lot of people are like that, actually.

[ He looks at Fai though. What the hell— ]

What's that look for?

[ It turns into a full on smirk. ]

Would you like for me to take the lead in roller blading too? I know you like that.

[ Hien frowns. That's so rude?! Holy shit.

He doesn't give Fai a verbal answer. Instead, he just goes off without waiting for Fai. Hmph. ]

[ Fai laughs as he skates after Hien, trying to catch up so he can hold onto his hand. ]

I couldn't resist!

Sure you couldn't.

[ Hien sighs, but holds his hand. ]

Not like anyone's here anyway.

[ As if Hien hasn't said wild things in front of other people...

Fai laces their fingers together. ]

You can take the lead next time anyway, if you want to.

[ He's not sure if Hien would??? ]

[ It's easy to say if it's not true!! But this is true!!!!

Though Hien sighs. ]

I tried, remember?

Not hard enough. I know you have it in you, though.

[ He believes in Hien! ]

It's this stuff that you believe in me for?

I'm just saying I know you can take initiative.

[ But... ]

I believe in you when it comes to other things.

[ He continues skating around at a comfortable speed. ]

[partymagician]

[ Fai keeps up easily, his hand still firmly grasping onto Hien's. ]

That you'll do what's best for us as a team.

[ The way Hien acted in his memories changed his mind about a few things, namely whether Hien would look out for him. ]

That's quite a change to what you claimed a while ago.

[ About Hien not doing anything at all in regards to Fai. ]

Because you changed my opinion.

[ Good job, Hien. ]

Well, I'm glad... I think.

[ He knows it changed for the better, but he doesn't exactly work to change people's opinions about himself. It feels weird. ]
