05 - week five

WEEK FIVE

Come Sunday morning, the portals around Estelline fade away, but not all of the oddities hanging around disappear so quickly. The recreations of your dreams and memories are still around, ever changing and shifting. Whatever it is that brought these things here hasn’t ended, not yet.

You don’t have time to worry about all of that, though, even if you know you should exercise caution once two of you found yourselves on the bad end of a monster’s claws. The course still isn’t over, though, even if the portals changed lesson plans. Everything continues on, with new places to explore as the fog pushes back once again. This week still feels a little more like what you’re familiar with, though, after Saturday’s lack of lessons.

[ He gives Hien a doubtful look. ]

There's no way that's true.

[ Then he busies himself with fiddling with one of the devices on the table. ]

It's true.

[ He means every single word of it too, and he gets in the way of Fai fiddling with a device by being all up in his space. ]

And I wish you could see it too, one day.

[ He sets down the device, since Hien isn’t making it easy for him to distract himself with it, and looks at him. ]

What am I going to do with you…?

[ His voice is fond. ]

Love me, obviously.

[ He gives Fai a quick peck on the cheek. ]

[ He smiles softly, tugging on Hien’s shirt to pull him closer. Once he does, Fai just rests his forehead on his shoulder. ]

It’s a real shame there isn’t a nice restaurant here… Although, even if there was, it’s not like we could get a really good meal out of it.

It's fine. I'll be your personal chef from time to time.

[ Hien gently pats Fai's back after hugging him. There, there. ]

Will you wear a cute apron?

[ He lifts his head from Hien’s shoulder to smirk. ]

Depends. I don't think I've seen a single apron here...

[ He thinks he's safe. ]

[ Is he… ]

Will you wear something cute instead?

Like what...

[ He's suddenly wary. Hien doesn't mind wearing whatever, but. Fai is nefarious (?). ]

[ He looks Hien up and down. ]

One of my shirts.

[ Crop top. ]

I’ll figure out the bottoms later.

Oh.

[ If it's a button-up shirt, it doesn't sound so bad. ]

Okay.

[ That's why he's doomed. ]

[ There’s a glint in his eye. ]

Hehe. I’ll get everything ready next time you cook for me.

[ What's with that glint... he's unsure now. ]

Anyway, was there anything else you wanted to take a look at here?

[ He takes a look around. It's just a bunch of tech stuff he doesn't know what to do with... ]

Mm, I don't think so.

[ With that, he wraps his arms around Hien and practically slumps against him. ]

You tired out? I can carry you... on my back or in my arms. Whichever you prefer.

[ There, there. ]

[ He shakes his head, although the idea of Hien carrying him back is nice... ]

I just think you're comfortable. That's all.

[ Cheesy, but true. ]

You can at least sit while leaning on me like this, you know.

[ So he'll carry him. Time to go back to the dorms unless Fai protests. ]

[ Fai leans on him as Hien starts to make his way back to the dorms. ]

Is there anything else you want to do?

Hm...

[ Hien looks around while walking back. ]

I wanna see some of these.

[ He points to a big mechanical being... perhaps it resembles a dog to some people. ]

Oh, that's Fido.

[partymagician]

Fido?

[ He tilts his head. ]

What an interesting looking robot.

[selfconcept]

Yeah. Fido is Shin's companion. It can react to emotions too, and it acts like a dog.

[ ... ]

Fido is usually a common dog name.

[partymagician]

Oh, how cute!

[ So Shin has a robot dog…

Fai leans his head against Hien. ]

Do you like that name for dogs?

It's alright, I guess.

[ ... ]

I'm actually pretty bad at naming stuff. I'd name a dog Snowball.
