02 - week two
WEEK TWO
When the glitter settles and everyone returns to their dorms - or wherever they intend to sleep for the night, if you’re planning on sleeping at all - your first week of school officially ends. Perhaps it was better than you expected, perhaps it was worse.
Hopefully you learned a bit more about teamwork and school spirit.
Still, this course is going to run for longer than a full week, and come Sunday morning you’re still exactly as you were when you settled down for the night. Still in Estelline, still with that mark on your wrist, still connected to your partner. There are some changes, though. The bookstore has received quite a few books, and those of you who added to the bulletin board and pep rally tasks in the first week will find an envelope taped to their dorm door (or themselves, if they spent the night elsewhere). Inside of the envelope is some kind of voucher! Furthermore, the common area is covered in a bunch of glitter.
Also, there are a ton of eggs in the kitchen – at least 10 dozens.
Florence or Lorelei are still available, should you wish to speak to them.
Finally, you've got some new locations to explore.
SUNDAY MONDAY TUESDAY WEDNESDAY THURSDAY FRIDAY
TASK LIST
CLUMSINESS AFFECT DETAILS (BEGINS TUESDAY ICLY)
W2 CYOA SIGNUPS
CYOA Signups for Week 2 close Sunday, May 29th at 6pm EST.
THREAD SURVEY
Google form for partner threads, due by Friday, June 3rd at 6pm EST. Optional.
W3 CYOA SIGNUPS
CYOA Signups for Week 3 close Friday, June 3rd at 6pm EST.

[ well, brought on by a particular partner of his defiling doors for who knows why, sabo will be at the cosmetic store himself the following day to examine what all there is to be seen. ...not that he understands anything he really sees, or rather, he doesn't seem to really care about it. he knows a particular person who would love some of these things. she would have a blast here...probably.
however, he does momentarily pause to examine some of the skincare products that advertise covering up and improving the look of blemished skin. a large scar on one's face isn't exactly "blemished skin" but it isn't like it isn't either, right? ]
@ arcade:
[ later on exploring the mall, he will eventually end up in front of a claw machine as he tries to win something from it. or, well, will try to win something from one of the claw machines. clearly the easiest option would be to try to get something on the larger and plushier side of things, right? no. okay then how about something smaller? still no.
maybe it's a skill issue!! though after about the nth attempt to get something from one of the machines, he'll not-so-gently kick the machine. ]
Is it even possible to win something from one of these things?
[ he doesn't even really want the small stuffed bear keychain or the stuffed dog. or. any of it. it's just a matter of pride now. ]
Arcade
Yeah.
[ He's saying it's a skill issue. ]
How many times have you tried so far?
no subject
sabo's been suffering from varying degrees of pain solo while ace has been passed out. not that this is what he is thinking... but thanks for calling him out on the skill issue. he'll give a sigh. ]
Enough times where I'm tempted to try less than conventional means.

[ Seeing Sabo inside the crane game machine would be pretty funny tbh ]

[ he says nothing about breaking the glass because that is definitely up there on his list of considerations. you know, there are just a few things that hold him up. ]

If you can't win it, you can always take it.
[ he isn't shy about the idea of breaking the glass to get something inside. but then he gets a bit more of a cheeky little look. ]
Did one of the puppies catch your eye?
no subject
I don't need to hear that from you.
[ as for the prize... ]
...and not really.
no subject
I'm just stating the obvious.
[ he taps the glass. ]
Then it's fine to give up, right?
[ okay, that part is him being an absolute shit. ]
no subject
and now sabo will bang his ankle against the machine in an oh-so-gently way which results in a decently loud bang. enjoy that as well. obviously he isn't doing anything that will cause either of them long lasting pain but if ace wants to be a shit then sabo is just as bad. ]
That's rich coming from you—someone who doesn't know when to give up.

we are all harassing sabo for his crane game skills
Ah.
[In entering, he spots one of his partners from the weekend event and-]
[-while he remembers this one as "more trustworthy" he still has to pull his tablet up and double check the profiles. Sorry, buddy.]
[Honestly, he does still kind of want to avoid chatting but... it's not like there's a big crowd of people here. He'd have to majorly crank his sneak stat to try and wholly avoid it.]
"Sir Sabo,"
[... he's back to the tablet talking. He proved he could during the defusing but hey, new week reset.]
"You like stuffed toys that much?"
[his expression doesn't look super judgy but, hey, depends on how the TTS voice is interpretted.]
i thank all of you for doing this
Talking through the machine again? You did so well over the weekend.
[ not that he will drag idia for using the TTS option but it's just... he had made such a huge deal of it and yet sabo failed to see anything wrong. (embrace the progress you made, idia!!) either way, he'll let it go as he crosses his arms. ]
I wouldn't say that I like them that much but— [ there is a temptation to kick the machine again but he won't. ] I just don't want to give in at this point.
no subject
"I get it. That 'no way is a machine getting the better of me!' ... feeling."
[he sets the tablet down on a ridge of the machine and starts looking around at the offerings. he pauses to type in another phrase,]
"It's a good thing you don't have to pay per try. At least."
[It sure is inconvenient for his tablet to not float and for all the text entry to have to be manually on the screen... why can't he just pull up his own screens, stupid lack of magitech...]
no subject
nevertheless, he'll nod at idia's description. ]
Exactly! That's the exact feeling. A matter of pride.
[ to lose to a machine (that cheats) though idia mentions something that stands out to him. ]
Normally is that what you'd have to do? How do people not lose their temper at these things?
[ and not destroy them.... ]

I tried a few rounds of this earlier. I also wasn't successful.

glancing over to the other person on the skincare aisle — ]
A thick enough concealer stick actually does do a surprisingly good job of covering up scars. If that's what you're looking for.
no subject
[ he'll hum softly to himself for a moment and glance at the ones that are what rideaux describes but doesn't actually go to pick any of them up. glad to know that one of them is knowledgeable about these sort of things, though. ]
Well, I'll keep that in mind should I ever want to cover up any scars.
[ we're not talking about the blatant one on his face right now. ]
no subject
I do a fair number of surgeries, so scarring is a frequent concern. There are products you can use while a wound is healing to minimize scar formation, but there's only so much you can do for an old one.

Hello Shizuku. [ he'll give her a slight bow. ] Ah, I wasn't looking at anything in particular. I wouldn't know where to even begin if there was anything to look for.
[ he says like a liar. ]
Are you looking for something?
no subject
( he certainly doesn't. )
I don't have to go as intensely in the beauty products as others might, but I still have to upkeep a little...
