02 - week two

WEEK TWO

When the glitter settles and everyone returns to their dorms - or wherever they intend to sleep for the night, if you’re planning on sleeping at all - your first week of school officially ends. Perhaps it was better than you expected, perhaps it was worse.

Hopefully you learned a bit more about teamwork and school spirit.

Still, this course is going to run for longer than a full week, and come Sunday morning you’re still exactly as you were when you settled down for the night. Still in Estelline, still with that mark on your wrist, still connected to your partner. There are some changes, though. The bookstore has received quite a few books, and those of you who added to the bulletin board and pep rally tasks in the first week will find an envelope taped to their dorm door (or themselves, if they spent the night elsewhere). Inside of the envelope is some kind of voucher! Furthermore, the common area is covered in a bunch of glitter.

Also, there are a ton of eggs in the kitchen – at least 10 dozens.

Florence or Lorelei are still available, should you wish to speak to them.

Finally, you've got some new locations to explore.

OOC NOTE

OOC: Anyone who performed in the Pep Rally (Sabo, Madara, Riku, Shizuku, Herlock, Idia, Flat, Miach) task will be able to redeem a voucher for a prize with one of the NPCs. This can be handwaved, and the prize selection is below.

-Single-serve coffee machine wither a selection of creamer. Comes with packs of coffee beans.
-Popcorn maker and kernels.
-High-quality tea kettle with a selection of just as high-quality tea.
-Carbonation machine (think Sodastream, etc) with flavored syrup.

Any coffee, tea, popcorn, etc. will last characters up to two weeks.

Anyone who participated in the Bulletin Board task will receive a voucher for your choice of two pairs colorful socks with cute animal designs. (Worry frog design available.)

[ he definitely doesn't. sabo is familiar with the word idol but he has no idea what it exactly means in relation to an occupation in terms of everything that's involved with it. ]

Well, I wouldn't imagine you needing much with how you are. It doesn't look like you would need anything to keep yourself in good condition.

Ehe, thank you! But in my line of work, we have to be above the rest to be honest- part of our marketing is in our looks, you see. We have to be able to sing, dance and look perfect... and then some.

( there might be a faint note of something when she says 'perfect', but despite the high standards she's describing, she doesn't seem to mind it too much. she knew what she was getting into, after all. )

[ he doesn't miss that something in her words but he's also going to be polite enough to not immediately call her out on it. instead, he'll acknowledge the work she has put into it. ]

That sounds difficult. [ a touch sheepish. ] I would comfortably say that I wouldn't be able to do the same. I will go as far to maintain the appearance fitting of someone in my position.

[ can't look like a slouch while being the number two. ]

Do you find your work rewarding, Shizuku?

It can be, especially since trends change and even something like a haircut can be met with harsh criticisms. But I do. For every person who finds hope in our songs, it's worth it.

Even haircuts, huh? Isn't that a bit extreme?

[ frowns. sabo officially does not understand how the entertainment industry works and feels for the lives of idols everywhere. ]

But if you find all of it worth it then I'm not the person who will tell you do anything otherwise. [ because he gets the general idea of putting yourself into a less than favorable position for the sake of something greater than just yourself. sabo doesn't sing or anything but he gets it. ] Maybe I could request a song sometime. No pressure for you to have to perform or anything, though.

Well, if the fans don't like it, it hurts marketability. But thankfully, most idol fans accept things like that fast.

( but she was also a model, which meant she especially couldn't do anything as she liked without consulting others and often being told no. thankfully, she's pretty fond of herself as is. )

I'd love to, though! I enjoy performing and singing.

[ sabo will nod approvingly at that. he's glad to hear that her experience with idol fans hasn't been too hard. or, well, if she's downplaying it that hopefully it isn't to a true detriment to her wellbeing. it doesn't quite seem like that would be the case..?

nevertheless when she offers to perform and sing for him, he won't be able to help not chuckling. so much for being considerate? ]

I wouldn't turn down a performance from a real idol then. I've never been able to witness one before. My work doesn't let me have that luxury.
