WEEK SIX

Sunday starts with more aches and pains than you might be used to. Florence patched people up after Saturday’s lesson, sure, but it’s not a complete cure - not to mention it doesn’t ease the sting of betrayal. Some classmates that you thought would cooperate wound up breaking your trust in the end, and this week will be interesting with the fallout.

It’s hard to say what this week will have in store otherwise. Things are changing, and it’s not clear what this means for all of you. On the bright side, however, the creatures and places you once knew from home have suddenly disappeared, so that's less that you need to worry about. There are new areas for you to look at as well.

You'd be surprised what you can come up with if you're thrifty enough.

[ no, now he's sorry because this is going places and he's just going to side step that for a moment beCAUSE WELL let's go with something a lot less morbid. ]

However, we're not here to talk about that! I suppose it depends on the kind of atmosphere you want to create. If you want to have things more casual and less formal then forgoing a bit of practicality isn't a bad thing.

With the nightmares, it would be good to create a sense of comfort and security.

[Florence looks very thoughtful over this - or as thoughtful as they can look, anyways. It's probably just an act.]

I would not want this to be a formal affair, and comfort and security do sound ideal right now. In that case, we can make a fortress.

A very big fortress. There are a number of us.

[ cue him taking this as the time to start pulling the cushions off of the couch and maybe starting to rearrange the couches and chairs to be more conducive for creating their blanket/pillow fort. every good fort need sturdy base to work off of. ]

Will there be enough structural integrity to manage that?

[They will do their best to assist in moving things, mostly following Sabo's lead...!]

[ bless u florence, and he'll make sure that they don't have too many big pieces of furniture to move. unless florence is secretly buff due to being a robot. ]

We can use the chairs that you brought for any of the weak spots or get creative when we run out or need more.

Do we have extra blankets anywhere?

[affligere]

[It is a mystery... But they seem to be doing okay!]

There may be some blankets still in the campus gift shop. I am unsure what the stock is like right now, however.

though hmm... what's a blanket/pillow fort without blankets?? he'll have to think about this for a moment. guess he'll just have to double up on making things plush and soft?? you know, to make up for the lack of blankets. ]

Well, I guess we'll just have to make due with what we have here.

I hope it will be acceptable to everyone else, then.

[A bunch of pillows is still pretty cozy, at least!]

We can give those who don't a bit of a hard time.

I think so. Having a sense of humor is important.

What would be the best way to obtain one?

[Sense of self, sense of humor... y'all want a lot from them.]

You'd have to find things that you find funny first, I think.

Do you think humor is something you could learn?

[affligere]

I do not know. I was not aware my AI was created with learning in mind, but allegedly that is actually the case.

Then maybe it would be better if you were to observe. Humor is very subjective. What I find funny, someone else might not.

How will I know if I am finding something funny?

[ should sabo's humor really what should be used here as an example? his humor is :unsure: sometimes but i guess there are more normal things too. either way, he's going to stall about it and just go for the other stuff. ]

Normally I'd say when you laugh but that may be a poor metric for you. [ since, you know, emotions are hard. ] I guess when you encounter something that confuses you but not in a frustrating way. Like the existence of two nonsensical conflicting ideas that are you are somehow trying to rationalize but can't.

[ hmmm...oh! ]

An example would be watching Ace and Luffy—my other brother—argue as children. They'd both claim that they out did the other in something and spend a great deal of time arguing about it only to eventually drag me into it expecting me to be the judge. [ he chuckles softly. ] I found that funny because they were trying so hard to out do the other as a means for superiority but in the end they just ended up in the exact same place.

[Florence listens to his explanation, and doesn't even judge the fact that call Luffy his "other brother" means he is still viewing Ace as a brother but I, Lav, am still judging and want it on the record even in tags. They're cute, at least, but the slowburn is killing me.

Still, Florence contemplates that for a moment, before they nod.]

So things are funny when they are entirely illogical? I see. I understand.

[ lOOK HE... if anyone cornered him about this week he'd have to sweat a bit, but since this is florence and they don't know any better he is free (to keep punking himself).

and even if florence doesn't fully understand what sabo is talking about, he's confident that they will at least make an attempt. and an attempt is more than he can ask of our robot friend here. ]

That's the best way that I can think to explain it, at least. Someone else might say different and there's different kinds of humor.

[ i'm sorry florence but humans are unnecessarily complicated sometimes. if they were simple then things would be rather boring. variety is the spice of life and all of that. ]

They do. I wouldn't trust anyone who doesn't have a good sense of humor.
