02 - week two

WEEK TWO

When the glitter settles and everyone returns to their dorms - or wherever they intend to sleep for the night, if you’re planning on sleeping at all - your first week of school officially ends. Perhaps it was better than you expected, perhaps it was worse.

Hopefully you learned a bit more about teamwork and school spirit.

Still, this course is going to run for longer than a full week, and come Sunday morning you’re still exactly as you were when you settled down for the night. Still in Estelline, still with that mark on your wrist, still connected to your partner. There are some changes, though. The bookstore has received quite a few books, and those of you who added to the bulletin board and pep rally tasks in the first week will find an envelope taped to their dorm door (or themselves, if they spent the night elsewhere). Inside of the envelope is some kind of voucher! Furthermore, the common area is covered in a bunch of glitter.

Also, there are a ton of eggs in the kitchen – at least 10 dozens.

Florence or Lorelei are still available, should you wish to speak to them.

Finally, you've got some new locations to explore.

OOC NOTE

OOC: Anyone who performed in the Pep Rally (Sabo, Madara, Riku, Shizuku, Herlock, Idia, Flat, Miach) task will be able to redeem a voucher for a prize with one of the NPCs. This can be handwaved, and the prize selection is below.

-Single-serve coffee machine wither a selection of creamer. Comes with packs of coffee beans.
-Popcorn maker and kernels.
-High-quality tea kettle with a selection of just as high-quality tea.
-Carbonation machine (think Sodastream, etc) with flavored syrup.

Any coffee, tea, popcorn, etc. will last characters up to two weeks.

Anyone who participated in the Bulletin Board task will receive a voucher for your choice of two pairs colorful socks with cute animal designs. (Worry frog design available.)

It's possible, but I wouldn't run with that assumption either.

[ Oh, right. Most people don't, which is fair. He's the one running into trouble with people who know what it is before he can even explain himself. ]

Fair. If we ever get all our stuff back at once, I'd let you kill me if your curse was triggered.

Fai looks taken aback before he has more to drink. ]

I mean, if it's just a one time thing, that'd be fine. It's not like I can actually die anyway, so killing someone who doesn't die for good is better than killing someone who does.

[ Hien has a point. A very good point.

But still. Fai doesn't like it. He puts the bottle on the bar so he can lay his head down next to it. ]

You don't even like fighting when you don't have to, so I imagine you can't really kill someone with ease.

[ At least, emotionally. ]

[ Bingo! Can't even kill the guy who killed everyone else in his world. Fai really feels like a coward.

He turns away from Hien, his face still resting on the bar counter. ]

No. I can't.

[ He pats Fai's head. If he won't look at him, he gets this. ]

If it comes down to it, I'll help you. It looks like you have enough on your mind as it is.

[ That sounds plain awful, but he guesses it's better than having no help at all. ]

[ He falls quiet for a long moment. ]

You like patting people on the head, don't you?

[ He saw Hien doing that to Phantom after the lessons. ]

Yeah. I like playing with people's hair, especially if it's soft. Sorry I caked it up with hair spray but it was for the greater good.

[ Even if they only got one royalty point for it. It's fine. ]

[ That gets Fai to turn back around, smiling a little. ]

It's fine. It looked good, so that's all that matters anyway.

I can make you look better without hair spray anyway.

[ Yeah. He's glad that Fai turned around though, but then he checks the bottle. ]

You know... if you want a stronger one, I can get the bottle. That or you like cognac as much as I do.

It tastes fine, but I want something stronger.

[ But he eyes Hien. ]

How would you make me look better without it?

[ Will he give Fai pigtails too??? ]

Maybe if I had some hair accessories to work with, I could make you look like a magazine cover model.

[ To be like CLAMP covers are reaching for him, but he'd do his best to get close to it.

He withdraws his hand and goes back behind the counter, but normally this time. ]

Let's see... something stronger... I think this is it.

[ He comes back with a bottle and gives it to Fai. ]

Thanks.

[ Fai takes the bottle and smells it to see if he can figure out what it is and... Nope. He can't.

Whatever. He has a swig anyway. ]

A magazine cover model, huh?

[ Not that he doesn't believe Hien, but that's a bold claim. ]

Yeah. You're pretty as it is, so that would make it much easier for me. I'm also not accepting denial at this time.

[ Don't you dare. ]

[ Rude...

Fai just raises an eyebrow at Hien as he takes another swig of the drink. This one... he really feels it. Or maybe it's all of the alcohol from before finally starting to kick in that's making him feel warm. ]

Fine, fine. I won't.

Good. You'd be insulting all of us otherwise.

[ Is that his roundabout way of saying Fai is prettier than most? Yeah. But also no. He'd say it straight if asked. ]

How's the drink?

Not everyone.

[ Seriously, Hien.

Fai makes a face with that question, though. ]

It's... strong. I can feel it.

Is that so... are you gonna drink some more?

[ He's not looking forward to the hangover the next day, but he hopes he can just sleep through it. ]

Sure am!

[ But he holds his bottle out to Hien. ]

Drink some too. I don't want to be the only one that's drunk.

[ If Fai divulges things he regrets, he wants Hien to at least be drunk with him while he does. ]

Fine. You can keep that bottle though. I'm gonna get another bottle of cognac.

[ So he leaves his seat again, and comes back with three bottles: another one that Fai currently has and two cognac bottles. ]

There. Cheers.

[ He holds out his bottle. ]

[ Fai clinks their bottles together before knocking back his own. ]

Say, Hien. Let's talk about something fun. [ He feels like some of their topics have been a little bit too depressing. They might veer into that again, but he'll try to at least start off nice. ] Tell me something you like to do.

I like sleeping and playing video games.

[ Those two were on his profile, but those two are something he can say with confidence that he actually likes doing. ]

I also like having fun with people, but also messing with them in various degrees.
