Now that they have all weathered that storm, it's time to do some recuperating! After storing some of the fruit (likely with Shizuku's help), Fai has decided to cut all of it up and lay it out in a neat little array on a table in the cafeteria. He liked the coffee and tea station last week, so he decides to set another one up for this week too. Fai has also set out some bread, butter, and a toaster—hopefully there's an outlet nearby—for people to make themselves some toast! They could all use a nice little (late) breakfast after all of that.

And if anyone wants to bring some of that crab and fish they caught? Well, the more the merrier!

Then, Fai sends out a quick text for everyone to come enjoy some fruit and coffee in the cafeteria.

I do like that smell. I like anything fresh.

[ He tilts his head slightly. ]

Fresh linen scent from candles are the best kind. It's not overwhelming, and it smells nice to the point it almost feels nostalgic.

[ Hien doesn't really enjoy nostalgia that are usually tacked with emotions though. ]

As if... I'm back to a time when grades were the worst thing I had on my mind.

[ Grades, huh? Fai immediately thinks of Hyunjung. He wants to ask about it, but he's not sure if Hien would want a heavy conversation right now, so he just lightly rubs his thumb along his knee. ]

Smells like that... they can be really nice, can't they? I think that's how I feel about old books.

Old books make me cough.

[ He doesn't like the smell, unfortunately. ]

But I figure you'd like that.

Here I am, trying to be sentimental and you insinuate that I'm a nerd.

[ Rude as hell! ]

I'm bad at being sentimental. Sorry.

[ He gives Fai a kiss on the cheek. ]

I'm almost done eating, so let's get going soon.

You make up for it by saying strangely romantic things.

[ So he doesn't mind too much. ]

Want to get right to sleeping?

Hell yeah, I do.

[ Sleep is his favorite thing. He's so ready to sleep with all the cushions and pillows. ]

I don't know why I even asked. I feel as if you'd never say no to sleep.

I wouldn't, honestly... when this is all over, I think I deserve a long rest.

[ How long that would be... even he doesn't know. ]

[ He pouts. Is it a real pout or an exaggerated one? It’s hard to tell. ]

What am I supposed to do while you’re resting? Hmmm?

Oh, so you're really coming with me?

[ Fai... ]

[ Well. That caught him off guard and now he’s flustered!! He even moves his hand away from Hien like he’s suddenly been burned. ]

I… thought you wanted me too.

[ … ]

But if I misinterpreted that, then I understand…

[ He could go somewhere else, or return to his own world and inevitable death. ]

[ Hien grabs Fai's hand from it going back too far and laces his fingers with Fai's. ]

You're so stupid. Isn't that part supposed to be me, and not you? Stupid. Stuuuuupid.

Of course you're coming with me. I said I wanted a long-term relationship, didn't I? Can't do that when you're dead or just not with me.

Ah...

[ He laughs softly, lightly squeezing Hien's hand. When it comes to certain things, Fai really is stupid and needs to be called out on it. ]

You're right... I got worried for no reason at all. [ ... ] I hope we're given the option to go with each other.

Yeah, I mean. Pretty sure Ace and Sabo are, at least. If they weren't allowed, Sabo would probably force a way.

[ gestures to the mini cyoa ]

Don't just hope. Know that you will. It'll happen.

[ That makes him laugh again, because it's true. Even if they haven't realized their feelings for each other, Sabo would definitely force it.

Fai scoots his chair closer so he can lean over and give Hien a hug. ]

Alright. I'll only think about how it will happen.

[ Hien hugs him back. ]

Good. There's no point in worrying too much. If you're gonna regret something anyway, might as well choose what you think will be less worse in the long run.

Well, I don't think I'll regret being with you.

[ That's for sure.

Fai buries his face in Hien's shoulder. ]

Well, I hope so.

[ He knows people can change their minds, but like... if Hien does bad things, he has no doubt Fai would want to split. He gently rubs his back anyway. ]

I'm prone to overstepping boundaries, but I try not to.

[ He lifts his head up to look at Hien. ]

What kind of boundaries?

[ How should he say this. Hm. ]

Like doing something absurdly grand for something I find to be the right thing to do, but you'll probably hate it.

[ Ah. ]

So, something violent.

[ Just. Based off of what he knows about Hien. ]

If you talk to me about it, I might hate it less.

[ He shrugs, since he won't know how the future unfolds. ]

Really? Is it because you'll have the chance to talk me out of it?

Well… that’s up for you to decide, isn’t it?

[ At the end of the day, Fai doesn’t have much influence on Hien anyway. ]
