WEEK SIX

Sunday starts with more aches and pains than you might be used to. Florence patched people up after Saturday’s lesson, sure, but it’s not a complete cure - not to mention it doesn’t ease the sting of betrayal. Some classmates that you thought would cooperate wound up breaking your trust in the end, and this week will be interesting with the fallout.

It’s hard to say what this week will have in store otherwise. Things are changing, and it’s not clear what this means for all of you. On the bright side, however, the creatures and places you once knew from home have suddenly disappeared, so that's less that you need to worry about. There are new areas for you to look at as well.

[ When Fai walks in, he can immediately smell that someone is baking. It’s a lovely smell, one that he thinks would go well with some tea.

He wanders into the kitchen, his eyebrows raising when he spots Owen. ]

Oh. I didn’t know you actually baked!

Did you really think I've been alive for over a thousand years and I never learned how to do anything for myself?

[Though it is true that wizards of his caliber don't need to eat often and magic usually assists him when he makes food - but you can't use magic to make something you don't already know how to do properly.]

[ He grins. Did he think that or not... it's hard to tell. ]

Can I try one?

[Huff puff.]

I guess it's only fair. Take your pick.

[ He grabs one of the ones dipped in chocolate. ]

So, what's the occasion?

There isn't one.

[He says, a shifty motherfucker.]

I just felt like it. [...] Are they any good?

[ He nods. ]

They're really good~

[ But... Owen really is shifty as hell. ]

I'm surprised you made them yourself instead of asking me to make you some.

[ Although, Fai was pretty mad at Owen. ]

Of course they are. I know what I'm doing.

[Just. Squinting at Fai for a moment.]

I don't need to rely on you for anything, and you've already given me enough to make up for every awful thing you've done to me.

[Awful things like... checks notes... helping Owen fulfill a square in bingo.

Awful things like offer to make you cookies? You're the one who betrayed me anyway.

[ Sorry, he's not buying it. ]

Besides, just because you don't need to rely on me doesn't mean that you can't rely on me at all.

I don't get to decide for you when it comes to things like this, Owen. I wouldn't mind if you did.

[ But he won't go actively seeking out people relying on him either. ]

Don’t be so wishy-washy and just say it’s my choice.

But being wishy-washy is my most charming trait!

[ He laughs. ]

That’s not what I would say. There’s other things that are much more charming.

[ He leans against the nearest counter. ]

[ Look, he doesn't have name, but he's sure they totally exist. Definitely. ]

So, are you going to tell me why you're really baking cookies? Or are you making them solely for yourself?

[ It seems like Owen has made enough to share, so... ]

Because I wanted to. It's not like I can eat any of the things that's already been made anyways.

[That's not an answer, but it's the answer Fai's getting.]

You have a point! We have so many baking materials too it'd be a shame to not use all of it... Part of the reason I made so many cookies a little while ago was because I had so much sugar.
