06 - week six

WEEK SIX

Sunday starts with more aches and pains than you might be used to. Florence patched people up after Saturday’s lesson, sure, but it’s not a complete cure - not to mention it doesn’t ease the sting of betrayal. Some classmates that you thought would cooperate wound up breaking your trust in the end, and this week will be interesting with the fallout.

It’s hard to say what this week will have in store otherwise. Things are changing, and it’s not clear what this means for all of you. On the bright side, however, the creatures and places you once knew from home have suddenly disappeared, so that's less that you need to worry about. There are new areas for you to look at as well.

We're going to a new ice cream parlor that just opened up! And the "why" is because I like you! So we're going on a double date~

[That is the right answer, as sharing a straw is an indirect kiss and therefore utterly ungentlemanly. Madara's at least gained some points while Idia's waiting for Cater to change, do his make-up, and stare in the mirror and frown about if he tied his hair up just cute enough or not.]

I get that going on a date with me is the woooorst possible way to spend your afternoon, but you don't have to rub it in! I'll make Cay whatever he wants for dinner instead of the ice cream, then~! Maybe thaaat'll win him over? Mama has to think on this...

[Look, a date sounds fun! But for ice cream...? Hmm. He can be bribed with a proper home made dinner later, though, if the continued Getting Ready Sounds on the other side of the door mean anything.]

[Cater is out? And Madara is about to scoop him up, but he looks at how good he looks and pauses for juuuuust a second.]

If you're super worried, though, we can hit the clothing store first.

There's a liiittle something we need to do first!

[Scoop. Enjoy your princess carry. Madara leans in confidentially, so hopefully Idia won't hear, and murmurs the following:]

Actually, I should've mentioned this before, but Florence called a big important meeting in the common room! But since you don't like ice cream, you don't have to stay long, and I'll get all dressed up and take you out on Baby-chan after.

[Scooped! Like the ice cream! He even 'eep's a little as he's scooped.]

Why couldn't she just, like... text us...?

They tooootally said they forgot to text us! So I thought I'd help out.

[At least it's a princess carry, since Cater looks too nice right now to just toss over his shoulder.]

I'm serious about after, though! What do you want for dinner? I'll make whatever I can~!

Do you think a guy like me liiikes going two or three days in a row without seeing the people he's all gaga over? No way. So stop hiding from me!

Eeeh that sounds like an excuse! Still should have texted us!

[His arms go around Madara's neck at least? Don't drop him...]

[Just, you know, not sweets... but he offered dinner, so it should be fine.]

No way no way you're not gaga over me. Stop exaggerating...!

[The second Cater holds on, Madara bursts out into a grin and hefts him just a bit.]

Excuse or not, you're coming with me, and then I'm treating you after!

[Though the rest...]

You're seeeriously going to hurt my feelings! Who wouldn't be crazy about you? [Carrying to the common room now.] You're good looking, you're a ton of fun, you're irresistible when you're being vulnerable... I'd easily fight somebody over you. Not to mention I just felt this whoooole connection from day one. I guess I'm too easy to not take seriously, huh... Sorry for not being better at this kind of thing! But don't you worry, Mama's used to one-sided affection! It won't actually hurt me oooone bit, even if I said differently!

H-hey, now...

[All that really mostly gets Cater to huff a sigh and drop his head down on to Madara's shoulder, kind of hiding his own expression and pointedly looking at anywhere but the other's face, too. Hi, clavicle, how are you?]

Cay totally felt a connection from day one, too, but that's super not a good thing for either of us, yanno? [Like sees like!!] Dunno how you decided to go crazy for him from that! But... Can't say he minds...

[It's a pretty good looking clavicle all things considered!]

All I'm asking is that you "don't mind" a liiittle longer! [He still wants to know Cater, everything underneath the facade. He can't help it.] Even if it's a little dangerous, so what? When was I ever not dangerous? Mama doesn't have a single self-preserving bone in his body!

[It is! Definitely worth looking at, yep!]

Yeah, Cay can manage that~ [And it's still scary to think about... opening up, especially to someone he was going to lose in only a few more weeks.

If anything, that was more incentive to shut down, become even more shallow and flighty. A pleasant memory, but a forgettable presence.]

You should grow one! For Cay and for Shizu-chan, yanno?

[He knows. And he's going to tell Cater to his face that he's sorry. For not doing more sooner. For not engraving him in his mind from the start. For not being able to protect him. For having to say goodbye. For the secret he holds for someone else and won't tell, that colors yet another thing a darker shade in Cater's life.]

Nooo can do! If I don't go out with a bang, then when you start thinking this was all a dream, I'll be the first thing you forget. But since I'm personally refusing to forget you, I have to make sure it's at least a good dream!
