06 - week six

WEEK SIX

Sunday starts with more aches and pains than you might be used to. Florence patched people up after Saturday’s lesson, sure, but it’s not a complete cure - not to mention it doesn’t ease the sting of betrayal. Some classmates that you thought would cooperate wound up breaking your trust in the end, and this week will be interesting with the fallout.

It’s hard to say what this week will have in store otherwise. Things are changing, and it’s not clear what this means for all of you. On the bright side, however, the creatures and places you once knew from home have suddenly disappeared, so that's less that you need to worry about. There are new areas for you to look at as well.

[The second Cater holds on, Madara bursts out into a grin and hefts him just a bit.]

Excuse or not, you're coming with me, and then I'm treating you after!

You're seeeriously going to hurt my feelings! Who wouldn't be crazy about you? [Carrying to the common room now.] You're good looking, you're a ton of fun, you're irresistible when you're being vulnerable... I'd easily fight somebody over you. Not to mention I just felt this whoooole connection from day one. I guess I'm too easy to not take seriously, huh... Sorry for not being better at this kind of thing! But don't you worry, Mama's used to one-sided affection! It won't actually hurt me oooone bit, even if I said differently!

H-hey, now...

[All that really mostly gets Cater to huff a sigh and drop his head down on to Madara's shoulder, kind of hiding his own expression and pointedly looking at anywhere but the other's face, too. Hi, clavicle, how are you?]

Cay totally felt a connection from day one, too, but that's super not a good thing for either of us, yanno? [Like sees like!!] Dunno how you decided to go crazy for him from that! But... Can't say he minds...

[It's a pretty good looking clavicle all things considered!]

All I'm asking is that you "don't mind" a liiittle longer! [He still wants to know Cater, everything underneath the facade. He can't help it.] Even if it's a little dangerous, so what? When was I ever not dangerous? Mama doesn't have a single self-preserving bone in his body!

[It is! Definitely worth looking at, yep!]

Yeah, Cay can manage that~ [And it's still scary to think about... opening up, especially to someone he was going to lose in only a few more weeks.

If anything, that was more incentive to shut down, become even more shallow and flighty. A pleasant memory, but a forgettable presence.]

You should grow one! For Cay and for Shizu-chan, yanno?

[He knows. And he's going to tell Cater to his face that he's sorry. For not doing more sooner. For not engraving him in his mind from the start. For not being able to protect him. For having to say goodbye. For the secret he holds for someone else and won't tell, that colors yet another thing a darker shade in Cater's life.]

Nooo can do! If I don't go out with a bang, then when you start thinking this was all a dream, I'll be the first thing you forget. But since I'm personally refusing to forget you, I have to make sure it's at least a good dream!

[It's actually... kind of difficult, hearing that, and he lets some of the fakery drop somewhat, melting off him with a huff of a sigh and a slump to his shoulders.]

Why'd we have to meet here?

[He smiles, and pauses for a moment, lowering his voice.]

I don't know. But I'm glad I got to meet you at all.

[He notes Cater kind of drooping.]

Hey. You're unforgettable. Don't forget that much, at least.

...You're just saying that.

[And, well, even if he was unforgettable... he was only worth contacting when he could offer something, so he would rather go forgotten.]

[He smiles again.]

I guess it doesn't mean much coming from a frivolous guy like me.

[A beat.]

I don't know how to make you believe me, but that's my own fault. Will you still go to dinner with me, though?

[magicam]

No, it's... not because you're totally pretending to be a frivolous guy or anything, it's just... Cay knows he's forgettable! You don't have to try and make him feel better!

[Why would one person suddenly decide he's memorable, if not to just... cheer him up somewhat? That'd be silly.]

You promised a date, though, so.....~ Of course.

[Madara shakes his head.]

I've been thinking about you since the first week. Not in a weird way, but you made an impression. And I've been worried about you, too.

[He knows when he's been beat, though. He'll have to try again over dinner.]
