3.0 - week three

WEEK THREE

Last night might have been exhausting for any number of reasons - maybe it was the emotional

toll of dealing with those ghosts, or maybe you stayed up too late after watching Jim Shrok. Who knows, but Saturday is over, even if some of you haven’t quite left it behind and half spirits that are still hanging on, tethered to you and weighing you down…

But that’s not going to stop a new week from starting. There’s no breaks in an eight week course.

There’s very little fanfare to the start of your third week of the course, though it does seem like the fog has lifted even more. It’s a bit more of a trek down the abandoned streets of Estelline, but surely a mile is walkable? Or you could grab a bike or try to hotwire one of those cars in the mall parking lot… Whatever you plan to do this week is up to you. All you know is you've got some new locations to explore.

[ early in the morning, flat can be seen in the clothing store! it does seem like he's trying to pick out a couple outfits, going back and forth between looking like a casual college student from the 2000s and something that looks like a 1920 paper boy.

either way, he's whistling a random tune as he picks out clothes, and may even take out something and show it to you. ]

[ that said, flat will also be doubling this shopping trip as an investigation. let's see what he can find? ]

2. kitchen (crimes)

[ what is flat doing in the kitchen, you ask?

honestly, who the fuck knows.

but what he can be seen doing is taking a variety of foods that should not go together...and putting them together. ice cream and chicken nuggets. pouring chocolate syrup and an energy drink into a glass. chocolate bars and slices of ham. and, sure, you can try to run. but if you're not fast enough-- ]

Ah...you could say that it reminds me of a really good friend of mine. [ he grins, tossing the knife up in the air just slightly before catching it on its hilt. ] It's a toy knife.

Anyways, RNG got me oatmeal raisin cookies and blue cheese, so I guess we're going with that...... Shin gives Flat a bit of a perplexed look before shrugging and taking a bite. He chews thoughtfully.

Right, right? I think the tanginess of the blue cheese goes well with the sweetness of the oatmeal raisin. How do you think we can improve it?

Of course! Just because I was wearing the school clothes these two weeks doesn't mean that that's what I wear all the time.

I can assure you that it’s not poisoned! If I had poisoned it, I would have slipped it in your drink while you weren’t looking, just like in the movies. Or, well, maybe I’d ask you if you wanted to drink something I poisoned. That’s more polite, after all.

[ he nudges it a bit closer to phantom, still beaming. ]

It’s made only with ingredients that are fit for human consumption, so please don’t be concerned.

[How did Flat make this worse??? Unfortunately Phantom's cursed fingers have now closed around the glass, possibly to keep it from spilling on him in this enthusiasm.]

If you ever attempt to poison someone, may I suggest that you begin with precisely that reassurance.

[But that probably means it's safe, right. A poisoner wouldn't lead with something that suspicious. Except that it did seem too obvious to be dangerous, so maybe that's exactly what a poisoner would do?]

[ i have found a cursed food generator and it gave me kimchi, smelt, pickled beats and eggs, and beans with toast so i guess this is what flat is handing out to sabo to eat and he can not express the icon hard enough to save his entire life.

anyways, flat is not aware of sabo's horror over being given a dish as awful as this. in fact, he can't imagine sabo being anything other than happy with this. which is why he so brightly answers: ]

[ but wow i do hate how much sabo is just going to go back and forth between "aw, that's cute" in the sort of big brother vibe way and then "i will die if i eat this". help. there is no good option for him here. he'll do his best to smooth over his horror (and likely impending doom) and keep smiling. ]

[ well that’s one heck of an uno reverse. while obviously the concept of giving people a cursed food mix was because it was foods that reminded flat of certain people, he also wanted to see what would happen if they consumed it. would they be sick? would they enjoy it? what would their partners feel?

faced with his own partner… well, that’s a different story. there’s a hint of hesitation in flat’s response, as he glances between the concoction and miach. anything that happens to her would be reflected on him, so what difference would it make if she drank it on her own versus him drinking it with her?

after a couple seconds, flat goes to get another cup. and then, he pours half of miach’s cup into this other one. ]

[ Are they going to create an infinite feedback loop of feeling ill now? An unpleasant idea, but intriguing enough that it'd somehow delight Miach anyway. It makes for a whole new layer of this experiment, maybe.

But also, Miach would not have needed that motivation to try the concoction. Fucking up her body a little bit with suspicious foodstuff is a guilty pleasure after all.
