3.0 - week three

WEEK THREE

Last night might have been exhausting for any number of reasons - maybe it was the emotional

toll of dealing with those ghosts, or maybe you stayed up too late after watching Jim Shrok. Who knows, but Saturday is over, even if some of you haven’t quite left it behind and half spirits that are still hanging on, tethered to you and weighing you down…

But that’s not going to stop a new week from starting. There’s no breaks in an eight week course.

There’s very little fanfare to the start of your third week of the course, though it does seem like the fog has lifted even more. It’s a bit more of a trek down the abandoned streets of Estelline, but surely a mile is walkable? Or you could grab a bike or try to hotwire one of those cars in the mall parking lot… Whatever you plan to do this week is up to you. All you know is you've got some new locations to explore.

( OOC Note: Luci, Mutsu, and Mae will each receive a small roomba! Congrats on the successful egg drop. It's a tiny little friend that cleans extra well, though this also means its trash compartment is a little smaller so it'll need to be cleaned more often. )

[ hmm... can he look through the tablet, actually? can he close out of the payment app and look at anything else? ]

[ He can, sure! He can exit out of the payment app and he won't find much else...other than an application labeled "SECURITY CAM". ]

[ YES..... LET'S TAKE A LOOK AT IT ]

[ Cool, okay! So.

The security cam app stores things all the way up until around 2 months ago, so around 3/xx/926. Each day is pretty much separated so he can kind of choose what he wants to look at, including today's footage. Are there any dates/timeframes he's going for in particular? ]

[ well, let's look at the oldest entry that's on there. what does it show? if he speeds it up, will he see any activity? ]

[ The oldest entry on there is very, very mundane, as in everything seems pretty damn normal. ]

[ normal as in...? are there actually people shopping? ]

[afflictionmods]

[ Yup! People shopping, going about their everyday lives. There may be some weird things, like flowers sprouting around someone who appears to be really happy with an outfit -- stuff like that. But otherwise, it is very very normal. ]

[ huh…

well, with that said, flat will try to look through the other days after that. is there anything to note? ]

[ There is, actually.

At one point later in 4/926, there seems to be someone wearing a lab coat. The few other customers in the estore kind of look at them, not in a bad way necessarily, just in a manner that indicates that this is someone of importance. The person has a stack of papers with them and goes straight to the cashier. They chat for a little while, and the lab coat wearer ends up leaving the clothing store looking satisfied. The person at the cashier sets the papers on the counter and leaves them there. ]

[ !!! well, first of all, let's see what happens the days after that? ]

[ The days after that are when things start to get weird. There are maybe a few days in which nothing really happens. Then, the person with the lab coat -- a scientist, I'm just gonna call them that -- appears once more but this time they have a friend with them.

Someone that looks like Florence. The major difference here is that this Florence seems more animated, like they're seeing and experiencing things for the first time and they are at least more excited and curious about it all. There's something still stiff in the way they move, but their expressions have more energy behind them.

They go to the clerk and the scientist seems to introduce them. Florence (?) waves back and wears a smile on their face. People are gathering around and looking at them curiously. There seems to be a conversation going with the scientist and the clerk; the scientist looks like it's giving orders to Florence and they oblige. Some people take a paper from the stack on the counter. There's not much else to note, here.

...

A few days later, there are several fights that seem to break out in the store or at the store front, either of the verbal or physical variety; and near the beginning of 5/926, the store starts to close early. At one point the clerk stops showing up entirely, and around 5/2/926, the nighttimes feel more sinister. ]

[ oh that's cool. that's fine! noting that one down for future reference as well.

what happens in the nighttimes? what shows up? if it's just Vibes, then we'll continue observing the days. ]

[ Apologies this is so late Tori, but the nighttimes, from this angle, are hard to really capture. There's just that dark energy hanging around at this point in time.

But eventually, Flat will see the hint of one of the orbs outside. By this time, the clerk has basically abandoned their post. The shop gets no customers. ]
