3.0 - week three

WEEK THREE

Last night might have been exhausting for any number of reasons - maybe it was the emotional

toll of dealing with those ghosts, or maybe you stayed up too late after watching Jim Shrok. Who knows, but Saturday is over, even if some of you haven’t quite left it behind and half spirits that are still hanging on, tethered to you and weighing you down…

But that’s not going to stop a new week from starting. There’s no breaks in an eight week course.

There’s very little fanfare to the start of your third week of the course, though it does seem like the fog has lifted even more. It’s a bit more of a trek down the abandoned streets of Estelline, but surely a mile is walkable? Or you could grab a bike or try to hotwire one of those cars in the mall parking lot… Whatever you plan to do this week is up to you. All you know is you've got some new locations to explore.

( OOC Note: Luci, Mutsu, and Mae will each receive a small roomba! Congrats on the successful egg drop. It's a tiny little friend that cleans extra well, though this also means its trash compartment is a little smaller so it'll need to be cleaned more often. )

[ Oh. Hello. Hien spots Luci and the Roomba in the middle of the hall and the urge to pet him rises again, so he goes to gently pick up the roomba and sits against the wall of the hall, placing it down next to him and starts gently petting Luci. ]

[ This is fine. The movement doesn't wake him. Left up to instinct, the purring starts early this time, soft and rumbly.
Eventually he shifts to his side, stretching a bit while his arms still move awkwardly.

Sleepy sleepy mumbling... ]

[ Very cute. Hien continues to pet him, occasionally scratching his ears and under his chin. ]

[ He lifts his chin to give him better access, but the stretch of his limbs that comes with it pricks the pain in his hands. It wakes up with a groggy curse and a glare. More at the pain than anything.

But, upon seeing it's just the doc, he settles back down again. If Hien is gonna keep petting him, Luci isn't complaining. After a yawn, he greets him-- ]

Yo. See my new ride?

[ Yup. Luci has now clocked into petting hours. ]

Yeah, it's a pretty sweet ride. Where'd you get it?

[ Good, even if his purring goes quieter now that he's conscious. ]

Dunno, just showed up. Guess the overlords liked my egg count. Think I should tape some shivs to it?

[ Luci the purring machine... ]

Aesthetically? It would look awesome. But for mobility, not so much. How's your leg, by the way?

[ Hien asks even though he knows that Luci is fine. ]

Ugh, I guess. But I wanted to call it ankle-stabber.

[ Luci holds out one leg in a silent answer to that question, flexing it and wiggling his toes before tucking it back in. ]

Hey, I forgot to ask: should I call you Dr. Meow meow now?

[ Ankle-stabber... Luci has funny naming conventions. At first, Hien's expression seems blanker than usual, but it resumes its "normal amount of blankness" on his face before answering Luci's question. ]

Sure, if that's what you want. I thought you'd call me eggface.

[ Luci launches into an imitation of a receptionist in a much higher pitch. His range is pretty good, actually: ]

Welcome to Dr. Eggface's office. [ Then, dropping deep again suddenly: ] not a bad ring to it.

My head doesn't feel too round...

[ Is it?? He feels around his head a bit with his free hand. ]

Nice voice change. Can you do any funny ones?

No, dummy, it's because you got plastered with an egg.

[ Rolling his eye, but hey it's not like he's the one that threw it for once. ]

Yeah, duh. But what kind of funny are we talking here? And what do I get out of it? [ He's thinking... Horsey ride? ]

[ Is that hard or not? He'll let Luci decide. ]

Let me ride you like a horse.

[ Without an ounce of irony. But he clears his throat and starts to mimic Flo's voice. He's better at more than just receptionists, listen to him go. It's as flat as can be. ]

The town idiot is getting ready to take his wench to the ball. First he goes to rent some duds because all his clothes suck, but there’s a long line at the shop and it takes foooorever.

Next, he has to get flowers, so he heads over to the florist and there’s a huge flower line there too. He waits forever but eventually gets the flowers.

Then he heads out to rent a carriage. Unfortunately, there’s a large line at the rental office, but he’s patient and gets the job done.

Finally, the day of the ball comes. The two are dancing happily and his wench is having a great time. When the song is over, she asks him to get her some punch, so he heads over to the punch table and there’s no punchline.

[ Said completely straight faced. Credit to anon, but I medievalized it. After a moment holding that straight face, Luci coughs. ]

Ta-da.

[ He doesn't laugh, but it was very entertaining to him. Thanks for that, Luci. ]

Okay, I can be a bipedal horse. Let's go.

Horses walk on all fours.

[ Carefully crossing his arms as he sits up and scoots to the edge of his minion. It's like a little cat seat. ]

I'll let you ride on my head.

[ Is that a better deal? Because he kinda doesn't wanna go all "you can't tame me" at Luci. He's just a little meow meow. From hell. ]

Any time I want?

[ Now he sounds interested. ]

Yeah.

[ He doesn't see the harm in that. ]

Just don't pull my hair and we're good.

[ He holds out his hands to Luci so that he can plop him onto his own head. ]

[ Luci takes the invite. He could climb up on his own if he wanted to. But how convenient. ]

[ Hien will try to mind doorways so that he doesn't accidentally hit Luci while walking through them... ]

Put ankle-stabber in my room before any chumps steal him. Card's in his ass.

[ Spoken from above, with a not-gentle pat to the head from s tiny not-cat hand. Also Luci means the overfull compartment. It's packed with lint and debris, but also a pack of matches, cigarettes, and his keycard in there somewhere. ]

[ Roomba ass... what the fuck. Hien holds himself back from laughing. ]

Fine, fine.

[ He picks up the roomba, goes to the common area, dumps everything into the trash and picks the pack of matches, cigarettes, and keycard back up. There. Ankle-stabber is clean now. ]

It's kinda funny how your stuff is tailored for your size.

I'm not complaining.

[ Even in clothes. But he laughed more at the difference in the size between his stuff and the next size up. Not that he'd worn much of any of it, but the inclusivity of all that still feels foreign around all these humanoids. He half expected his trombone would show up bigger than him. ]

Little tryhard, though. Who do they think they're fooling?

[ He flattens down comfortably, resting more like a cat and wrapping his tail around to blend in and stay put. But he does lean forward to carefully watch his minion clean his minion. At least he doesn't pull on Hien's hair. ]

Think I can make it so he doesn't eat all that crap?

That's like making a screwdriver no longer being able to screw things.

[ Kitty on his head... he enjoys this. But then he goes on over to Luci's room to drop off ankle-stabber. ]
