02 - week two

WEEK TWO

When the glitter settles and everyone returns to their dorms - or wherever they intend to sleep for the night, if you’re planning on sleeping at all - your first week of school officially ends. Perhaps it was better than you expected, perhaps it was worse.

Hopefully you learned a bit more about teamwork and school spirit.

Still, this course is going to run for longer than a full week, and come Sunday morning you’re still exactly as you were when you settled down for the night. Still in Estelline, still with that mark on your wrist, still connected to your partner. There are some changes, though. The bookstore has received quite a few books, and those of you who added to the bulletin board and pep rally tasks in the first week will find an envelope taped to their dorm door (or themselves, if they spent the night elsewhere). Inside of the envelope is some kind of voucher! Furthermore, the common area is covered in a bunch of glitter.

Also, there are a ton of eggs in the kitchen – at least 10 dozens.

Florence or Lorelei are still available, should you wish to speak to them.

Finally, you've got some new locations to explore.

OOC NOTE

OOC: Anyone who performed in the Pep Rally (Sabo, Madara, Riku, Shizuku, Herlock, Idia, Flat, Miach) task will be able to redeem a voucher for a prize with one of the NPCs. This can be handwaved, and the prize selection is below.

-Single-serve coffee machine wither a selection of creamer. Comes with packs of coffee beans.
-Popcorn maker and kernels.
-High-quality tea kettle with a selection of just as high-quality tea.
-Carbonation machine (think Sodastream, etc) with flavored syrup.

Any coffee, tea, popcorn, etc. will last characters up to two weeks.

Anyone who participated in the Bulletin Board task will receive a voucher for your choice of two pairs colorful socks with cute animal designs. (Worry frog design available.)

[ He would have turned around quicker, but he recognizes Fai's voice through the security alarm. He eventually faces him though. ]

Fai.

[ He puts the gun away into his back pocket. ]

Sorry. I wanted to see if there was still live security forces here. I'll go wash my hand.

[ Fai approaches, careful as he steps around the glass. ]

I guess that’s one way to find out…

[ He puts his hand on Hien’s elbow. ]

I can help you clean it. [ … ] Do you want some of my gauze?

The glass? It's fine. I'll find a broom and sweep it or something.

[ If anyone expected Hien to be fully unhinged right now, they'll be disappointed. Hien thought this was the logical thing to do. ]

I'll just wash it and get bandages from the health room. It's no big deal. Use your gauze for something more dire.

[ He doesn't pull his arm away from Fai, but he lets it down.

Anyway. ]

... Want something?

[ He gestures to the jewelry with his head. ]

Ah… I don’t know. I don’t wear much jewelry.

[ He’s much more of a casual dresser, after all, even if he makes an effort to look a little nice.

But if Hien wanted to pick something out for him, Fai wouldn’t decline it. ]

I’ll go with you to the health room.

Okay. I wanna wait here a little longer though.

[ Just in case the police are slow to arrive...

In the meantime, Hien tries to sweep the glass with his foot to a single place when it becomes apparent that there's no broom within his vision. ]

Let's wait until we have a broom.

[ In other words, stop sweeping the glass with your feet, Hien. Fai keep his hold on Hien's elbow. ]

How much longer do you want to stay here?

Mm... five more minutes. Can you look for the broom? I'll stay here.

[ He feels lazy, but also because he feels mildly disappointed that none of the security came. ]

[partymagician]

...Alright.

[ But first. ]

Do you want my hoodie for your hand? It's bleeding a lot.

[ He has a shirt on underneath it, so it's fine. ]

[ He shakes his head no. ]

I want to wash my hand first. Pieces of glass could have gotten in, so I wanna flush them all out. Blood can always be cleaned on floors like this, so it's okay if it drips some.

[ Hien has a point, but Fai is still worried anyway. Hien can definitely feel the anxiety flowing through Fai as he leaves to go grab a broom from a supply closet somewhere.

It doesn't take him long to get back, so he starts sweeping up the glass. ]

Thanks for doing this for me. I appreciate it. It's too bad the security never came...

[ He sighs. Hien looks bored or perhaps he's just listless as he stares off into nowhere. ]

[partymagician]

I don't think there's anyone here to so much as act as security.

[ Fai sweeps everything into one spot before using the dustpan to pick it up and throw it away.

Despite being busy with that, he can't help but notice the listlessness from Hien. ]

Everything alright?

I feel a little stress being pent up. Breaking that glass felt pretty good, but it wasn't enough.

[ He wants to just break out the violence until he gets tired. He needs better distractions. ]

[partymagician]

I would suggest you try letting it out in a way that doesn't make you bleed.

[ You know. Just a polite suggestion. ]

Sassy cat.

[ Hmph. ]

There should be a bathroom somewhere nearby. I'll go look for it.

[partymagician]

I hope you know I'm coming with you.

[ Sorry, Hien. He's got to make sure that the wound is fully cleaned. ]

Yeah, yeah... I have a small ointment container in my pocket too.

[ He had to use some for Miach earlier today. ]

So we can use that after it's clean. Then we can get bandages from the health room.

[ Nice idea. Anyway, Hien starts leaving, completely ignoring the drops of blood on the ground that he spilled. ]

[ He nods. That's good enough for him.

Fai follows him, eyeing Hien wearily. ]

I'm serious about finding alternative ways for you to relieve stress, by the way.

[ Maybe there are some coloring books or something in the bookstore... ]

Like what? It has to be stimulating.

[ He enters the bathroom and washes his hands. That really stings and he almost winces, but he manages to get the shards out and dries his hand, and then lathers ointment over his right hand. ]

[partymagician]

[ Ugh, now his hand stings. But Fai is more more preoccupied with that statement as he watches Hien clean himself off. ]

In what way?

Enough to distract me so well that it'll be the only thing I can think about.

[ At this rate, he might request a crisis. ]

[partymagician]

I could...

[ Fai stops himself short, afraid that offering help would be out of bounds. ]

Let's go on to the health room now that you're cleaned up.

Alright. The ointment should hold things while we get there.

[ He looks up at Fai. ]

You could what?

Help you out, in whatever way is best for you.

[ He refuses to look at Hien as he says that, leading the way to campus. ]

Hien doesn't get it as he feels like his head is above the clouds for some reason. ]

Well, yeah. That's what you always do, don't you?

[ Like getting him coffee to start the day and stuff. ]
