07 - the final week
FINAL WEEK
You returned safely from the island, with fresh fruit and plenty of seafood, and your Saturday comes to an end. There was much less betrayal, much less turmoil, this past lesson… but does that mean you’ll have time to relax?
The fog has pulled back, revealing the rest of the university’s campus. ... Actually, the fog is completely gone. Interesting, that. You'll also notice that at night, there are no orbs to be found. It looks like Lorelei was true to her word regarding Saturday's activity being the final orb.
There are also, occasionally, other figures that come into view when you look around. Other figures that look like...people. People you haven't seen before, roaming the streets. Some of them look like they're seeing Estelline for the first time in a long while. Others look like they're exhausted and seem to be making their way towards the Residential Area, presumably to rest. There aren't many of them, come Sunday...but they're here.
The end is finally near – and Lorelei confirms that with another 8am announcement on Sunday. She is also, notably, wearing a more visible set of earrings.
"Good morning, students. I would like to formally congratulate you on surviving these last few weeks. This week should be your last, and I will be dedicating it to your evaluations. I'm aware that you know the nature of this "course" by now, but you will be able to return home soon. Regardless, I thank you for your participation.
You are free to contact me through the phone booth for the next few days. Thank you."

[ He holds up the box with Sorry! in it. ]
I'll need to read the rules, but it looks like fun.
[ Fai moves to set the game on the floor, grabbing a bottle of wine before he sits down. He wastes no time in opening up the bottle and taking a swig. ]

[ He assumes it's in Estelline language. Hien hops down on the ground and gets a cup for himself. Aw yeah. Let's go. ]
cw alcohol
[ He'll just open up some of those snacks Hien brought and have another drink of wine. ]
The wine's pretty good.
cw alcohol
Okay, so. You wanna get your pieces into this home space. You go around the board for it. You draw cards to determine how many spaces you go... if you land on the same space as somebody else, you can knock it back to start.
[ ... ]
I see. I think this was the game that made so many people mald back then.
cw alcohol
Mald?
cw alcohol
[ Nailed it. He sets up the pieces and cards, getting a drink right after that ]
Let's play.
cw alcohol
[ What an interesting word.
He snags the blue piece and has another long sip of wine. ]
I'll let you go first.
cw alcohol
[ Hien draws a card and advances several spaces, having started on the opposite side of the board from Fai and drinks another cup. ]
Not even earlier today?
cw alcohol
Ah… well perhaps I was that mad. I guess you’d know, since you felt it.
no subject
[ Ahem.
Fai will not feel pain coming from Hien whatsoever. It's fine despite screaming. ]
no subject
Fai... just stares at him for a while. ]
I see...
no subject
Yeah. Sheer malding.
[ we can handwave them taking turns and drawing cards!! Hien looks over the board and then at Fai. ]
Imagining you screaming like that is... quite something.
no subject
Is it good or bad?
[ He ponders over his card before moving his piece. ]
no subject
[ The screams in the memshares are completely different. ]
cw alcohol
[ And Hien saw most of those times!
Fai takes a very long sip of his wine. ]
cw alcohol
[ He takes a long swig of his own bottle and sends one of Fai's pieces back to the starting point. ]
Get wrecked.
cw alcohol
[ Whatever. He takes a long drink like they agreed this is a drinking game. ]
So what are you gonna do? Dress up in a scary costume and scare me so I’ll scream?
cw alcohol
You dense blondie boy. I ain't gonna say sorry.
no subject
[ He manages to get in a bunch of spaces… take that, Hien! ]
no subject
[ He squints at the board. ]
That's too many spaces. Cheater.
[ He's getting tipsy... ]
cw alcohol
[ He has another long sip, letting the alcohol settle into his veins. It’s warm. ]
no subject
[ Hien lets out all of his pieces onto the board. This is clearly against the rules. ]
no subject
[ Fai grabs some of those pieces and starts chucking them at Hien. ]
no subject
[ Hien swats them down and then shoves all the pieces into his "home" space. ]
I win. Next game.
cw alcohol
You only won by being a big cheater.
