07 - the final week

FINAL WEEK

You returned safely from the island, with fresh fruit and plenty of seafood, and your Saturday comes to an end. There was much less betrayal, much less turmoil, this past lesson… but does that mean you’ll have time to relax?

The fog has pulled back, revealing the rest of the university’s campus. ... Actually, the fog is completely gone. Interesting, that. You'll also notice that at night, there are no orbs to be found. It looks like Lorelei was true to her word regarding Saturday's activity being the final orb.

There are also, occasionally, other figures that come into view when you look around. Other figures that look like...people. People you haven't seen before, roaming the streets. Some of them look like they're seeing Estelline for the first time in a long while. Others look like they're exhausted and seem to be making their way towards the Residential Area, presumably to rest. There aren't many of them, come Sunday...but they're here.

The end is finally near – and Lorelei confirms that with another 8am announcement on Sunday. She is also, notably, wearing a more visible set of earrings.

"Good morning, students. I would like to formally congratulate you on surviving these last few weeks. This week should be your last, and I will be dedicating it to your evaluations. I'm aware that you know the nature of this "course" by now, but you will be able to return home soon. Regardless, I thank you for your participation.

Fai takes a very long sip of his wine. ]

[ He takes a long swig of his own bottle and sends one of Fai's pieces back to the starting point. ]

[ Whatever. He takes a long drink like they agreed this is a drinking game. ]

[ Hien chugs the rest of his bottle because he's tired of taking small sips. ]

You dense blondie boy. I ain't gonna say sorry.

[ He manages to get in a bunch of spaces… take that, Hien! ]

[ He squints at the board. ]

That's too many spaces. Cheater.

[ He has another long sip, letting the alcohol settle into his veins. It’s warm. ]

[ Hien lets out all of his pieces onto the board. This is clearly against the rules. ]

Over trivial things like this? Absolutely.

[ Fai grabs some of those pieces and starts chucking them at Hien. ]

[ Hien swats them down and then shoves all the pieces into his "home" space. ]

[ Fai glares at him, although there’s no heat behind it whatsoever. Then he picks up his bottle of wine and chugs a good amount of it. ]

You only won by being a big cheater.

[ Hien gets out another bottle, opens it, and chugs about half of it. Good stuff. ]

[ Fai stares at Hien before gracelessly standing up and getting the other game. He dumps it on the floor before plopping back down. ]

Your tolerance is so high. I already feel drunk.

[ Which means it’s time for him to drink the rest of the bottle. ]

[ In a state where every single power and passives are locked away, Hien blurts out-- ]

I don't got my powers. My tolerance isn't that good.

[ He just likes drinking in a huge amount at once. Good thing he doesn't drink often. ]

It's the same for you too, isn't it?

[ He starts unboxing the game and lays it out, putting all the tiny balls in the center of the game. Hien is ready mash the heck out of these eating machines. ]

[ Ah, so he just drinks a lot. Alright. ]

Yep. Kuro-sama and I would drink all night and be fine. Now, he’s really the one with the high tolerance, considering he’s human.

[ Fai is… humanesque? He’s not sure.

But he starts mashing one of the buttons at random. ]

A regular human that can drink a lot, huh...

[ He's not sure why, but he gets a strong desire to empty the rest of the bottle even though he just opened it.

So he does just that and mashes the button on his side. EAT THE BALLS!! ]

Yep. Probably because he’s such a big guy. Lots of muscle.

[ That probably does something for alcohol, right? Who knows.

Fai starts mashing hard, doing his best to try to beat Hien. ]

[ Hien squints. It's not like he's short for his apparent age, but he sometimes wishes he was taller...

He sets the empty bottle aside and keeps rapidly tapping the button, until he gets fed up with it and flips it over.

[ Fai pouts at Hien, crossing his arms. ]

No one wins, because I said so.

[ There's gonna be so much to clean after... stepping on the small balls will also be a pain too. That's not on Hien's mind right now as he sets aside the flipped game and lies down on the ground. ]

So I win. It's only right.

[ He nudges Hien in the side with his foot. ]

Why’d you knock it over if you wanted to play so bad? Huh?
