06 - week six
WEEK SIX
Sunday starts with more aches and pains than you might be used to. Florence patched people up after Saturday’s lesson, sure, but it’s not a complete cure - not to mention it doesn’t ease the sting of betrayal. Some classmates that you thought would cooperate wound up breaking your trust in the end, and this week will be interesting with the fallout.
It’s hard to say what this week will have in store otherwise. Things are changing, and it’s not clear what this means for all of you. On the bright side, however, the creatures and places you once knew from home have suddenly disappeared, so that's less that you need to worry about. There are new areas for you to look at as well.

[ Sure, Phantom, sure. Xingqiu will definitely not make a comment about Phantom taking an extra piece of cake at the least. Even if he might have some ideas. :3c
That being said, he is glad to hear the man is not as injured as some of the others. Though he is admittedly concerned about the others who have suffered such a fate as well. ]
I'm glad to hear that you're not too worse off. As for me...it's a nasty surprise, and I'm not too fond of the element, but unlike my partner, I think I have a better tolerance.
[ His voice is forcibly even here, as he's trying to hold back a resurgence of that anger. He has nothing to say to the other group because he doesn't even know what to say to them; if he does figure something out, it would be bad anyway. If when he goes to get ingredients he's grabbing things more roughly, it's not to the imagination. ]

[Phantom puts his book down and stretches a moment, taking the time to swap his sweater once before he heads towards the kitchen. He's definitely not moving at his best, but he's never exactly been a paragon of grace. At least he's competent enough in the kitchen to make a reasonable pass at gathering ingredients.
He watches Xingqiu with a little frown, though. It's impossible to miss the edge on his mood. Phantom knows anger very well.]
Chongyun is hurt? Your group was betrayed as well, weren't they?
[That's... upsetting, actually. He's somewhat fond of both of them. And Chongyun had been earnest about offering to protect him.]

[ Regardless, Xingqiu will have an eye on his movements because Phantom is at least definitely a good friendo now. He's physically battle-inclined so he's decent on his own and he thanks every day that there were no Abyss Mages involved, because man. ]
They were.
Chongyun did not take to the traps well. It wasn't as if I hadn't considered betrayal to not be an option, but...the combination for him did not have a pleasant effect where he is concerned, putting it lightly.
[ It's fortunate that things did not progress as they did or otherwise he would be seriously concerned for the other beyond even such debilitating injury. He already had to watch him nearly die before when they were here... ]

[Phantom's frown deepens at that. He doesn't have any more gauze after Saturday, and it's still frustrating to not have any magic. There's so little he can do that would be useful.]
Then we can make enough cake for you to bring some back to him, if nothing else.
[It's 'we' now, Phantom is helping! Very helpful. He is also absolutely mentally recalling the team matchups to properly recall who else he'll be holding a grudge against.]

I appreciate the thought. I believe in Chongyun, so I imagine that he will...he'll just need some rest.
[ Though, with the whole cake thing... ]
I'm sure we can, yes. He'll appreciate partaking in some dessert for certain.
Though, if my skills were a little better, I think I'd want to make a cold treat. Like ice cream or a popsicle.

[Maybe he'll come up with something before then.]
I don't think a popsicle would be difficult, but we'd need something to use as a mold for it.
[The easier answer for those would probably be to raid the grocery store, since they don't yet know that Florence went wild on the ice cream. Still, Phantom sets about inventorying the little kitchen just in case. He's on a mission now.]
