06 - week six
WEEK SIX
Sunday starts with more aches and pains than you might be used to. Florence patched people up after Saturday’s lesson, sure, but it’s not a complete cure - not to mention it doesn’t ease the sting of betrayal. Some classmates that you thought would cooperate wound up breaking your trust in the end, and this week will be interesting with the fallout.
It’s hard to say what this week will have in store otherwise. Things are changing, and it’s not clear what this means for all of you. On the bright side, however, the creatures and places you once knew from home have suddenly disappeared, so that's less that you need to worry about. There are new areas for you to look at as well.

FLORENCE / LORELEI

The Reverend told me about the times he killed enemy soldiers with a sharpened shovel.

[ That has to be it, right? A knife would definitely be sufficient if Shin wants to murder. ]

I thought it would make for an effective weapon if needed. It's not too difficult to swing, and it has practical uses besides that.
[Like, y'know. Digging holes.]

[ Hien is slightly baffled, but you know what? He'll let Shin live his life. ]
Anyway, I'll help you. Just help me find a grinder here.
[ Is there even one... ]
no subject
I think I saw those near the back. [Maybe? Unsurprisingly, he doesn't go to these types of stores often. But he'll lead the way with the shovel to where he saw signage relating to grinders.]

Hien follows Shin and eventually sees the signage, followed by several grinders. Hm. ]
Hm. Okay. How pointy do you want it to be? Can you mark how much you want off on the shovel with your finger?

Shin looks at the end of the shovel, like he's sizing it up.]
It doesn't need to be as sharp as an actual blade, so taking some off the edge on both sides is enough.
[He'll indicate the inner and outer sides of the shovel head but also how much do you normally take off for grinders, because he sure doesn't know...]
no subject
Alright. Hand me the shovel and I'll work my magic.
[ But first, he swipes some thick gloves and a faceshield. ]
no subject
But okay, he'll let Hien have it and Shin will stand back since he sees that face shield and glove combo coming out. With that said, he will watch the whole process diligently because... well, you never know when you might need to use a bench grinder, or something.]
no subject
...
He eventually finishes and leans back. ]
Phew.
[ After brushing off the debris, he hands the shovel to Shin. ]
Here you go. A pointy shovel. Who'd you kill with this thing anyway?
no subject
Anything they decide to send at us, I guess. I never really believed that they would just send everyone back peacefully after they were done with this experiment.
[Maybe it would be pointless considering they could debilitate them through the marks, but having some kind of weapon to use would still be better than nothing.]
no subject
Because we dunno what happened to the predecessors?
no subject
Because it'd be easier to just dispose of us. If they deliberately selected individuals from other worlds to use as test subjects, there's no reason to think that they would care about us enough to use their resources to send us back. But keeping us around in this world would likely be more trouble than it's worth, especially if they've exhausted their use for us.

[ In some sort of twisted hostage situation. ]
