05 - week five

WEEK FIVE

Come Sunday morning, the portals around Estelline fade away, but not all of the oddities hanging around disappear so quickly. The recreations of your dreams and memories are still around, ever changing and shifting. Whatever it is that brought these things here hasn’t ended, not yet.

You don’t have time to worry about all of that, though, even if you know you should exercise caution once two of you found yourselves on the bad end of a monster’s claws. The course still isn’t over, though, even if the portals changed lesson plans. Everything continues on, with new places to explore as the fog pushes back once again. This week still feels a little more like what you’re familiar with, though, after Saturday’s lack of lessons.

[ some time before fai and shizuku go missing, team twelve brings you their "yard sale" today with what they're willing to get rid of and to see what items might belong to other folks on campus.

sabo sits on the couch, keeping an eye on the table while his teammate sprawls out lazily and uses him as a footrest. ace seems comfortable with his feet resting in sabo's lap as he lightly dozes between customers. how spoiled.

and what might come as a surprise is that ace is actually wearing a plain black t-shirt and wearing a pair of jeans. surprise, surprise. meanwhile, sabo will be sporting this outfit. ]

Please, if you see something that belongs to you, you are welcomed to it.

[ ace raises his hand and lazily greets whoever joined them. ]

There's also a piece of junk in our hallway.

[ for anyone curious, there's an analyticscope sitting outside their dorm for anyone to claim. ]

[ Hien peeks into the area and looks ahead at the items they have available. He waves a little to them. ]

Yo. You giving these out?

Nice outfits, by the way. If I didn't know any better, I'd think you two were gonna go on a date.

[ if emi wants to respond to this too i shall let her but until then— ]

We are. [ so help yourself, but not too much. ] They're taking up space and we really don't have a need for them.

[ sabo was going to thank hien for the compliment and comment about how isn't it nice that ace is finally wearing decent clothes when he does a slight mental double-take. ]

...and I'm sorry..?

[ Hien raises an eyebrow at Sabo. ]

What are you sorry for?

[ he'll take a look to ace (who may or may not be sleeping, idk) and then back to hien. ]

Nothing; please don't mind that.

[ but he will talk about ace as though he isn't Right There. ]

But thanks for the compliment. I kind of wish that Ace would wear "proper" clothing more often.

[ his eyebrow raises at the date comment. ]

[ That's what he said.

[It's just one of those days where they dump everyone's stuff all over in hopes it'll be claimed, huh. Shin himself is holding a few things from his latest batch of items so he can leave them somewhere for people to take, which includes a certain hat and that sake cup he's had since like week 2. Someone please take it back.

Anyway!! He's learned to check out what people are offering as he passes by, but he hasn't had much luck with yard sales... until today, apparently. Because the moment he spies the semi-automatic, he pauses in front of their table and shifts a couple of the items around so he can pick up the pistol with his free hand and examine it.]

[ while shin is checking out the weapon, ace notices the hat and sake cup that he has in his arms. ]

My hat! [ but even with that comment, his eyes are fixed on that cup. could it be...? ]

[undertakings]

[Huh. Is this a two birds with one stone moment...? Maybe even three birds because he gets his gun back...?!]

They're yours?

[He doesn't miss the way Ace is eyeing that cup, so he'll place the gun back down for now so he can lay the hat and cup on the table without everything else spilling out of his arms. Did he do it. Did he find the owner.]

The cup is probably either mine or Sabo's...

[ but he leans from his position on the couch to snag the hat and plop it on his head, grinning. ]

The hat's great to have back, too. [ a beat. ] Take it the gun is yours?

[partymagician]

[ Oh! His goggles! Fai notices them almost immediately, so he zeroes in on them.

But more importantly: ]

You two look comfortable. And very nice. I like the outfits.

[ Fai Approves. ]

Thanks; we spent all of that time in the clothing store so it'd be a waste if we didn't wear what we doo.

[ and since he didn't miss the way that fai seemed to see something that interested him: ]

Something caught your eye?

I did!

[ And because Hien and Fai seem to be tag-teaming this... ]

Did you show Ace that one top you tried on when we were at the store together?

[vivens]

No... I didn't.

[ he doesn't even need to ask for clarification of which top. he has a feeling he knows which and he just moves things along. ]

So, what was it that caught your eye?

[ while he obviously does normally run around without his shirt, he doesn't actually mind this that much. ]

This couch is pretty nice.

[ he doesn't bother mentioning where his feet are for the moment. ]

[ He might not, but Fai sure does give him a knowing smile. ]

It is. I spent the evening out here a couple nights ago. I could've fallen asleep out here if I didn't eventually make myself get up.

[ sometimes you're just comfy with your bro. ]

Sometimes that's the worst part of getting comfortable.

[ he's going to frown at it. like it's funny but you know.

I'm not sure if there's much of a story. It just kind of arrived.

[ smiling up at marcus. ]

I mean as in "is this one of those things that belongs to somebody here," but then again I guess you guys wouldn't know that either, huh?

[He laughs. Now that Sabo is offering, though...]

... yeah, don't mind if I do. I'm sure I could come up with something to do with it.

[ Scouting out the marketplace before he sets up his own shop... he picks up the shades first, but then notices the lumpy blue beads. ]

These showed up with all the rest of this, did they?

[ sabo will politely not be eyeing or questioning why rideaux will eventually set up across from them. for the present, however, he will be pleasant and just casually watch rideaux pick at the items they had spread out. namely the blue beads. ]

Interesting. These are something I use in some of my medicines where I'm from.

...They're also used for euthanizing monsters in their raw state, so it would probably be in everyone's best interest for you to entrust them to the one person who knows how to handle them.
