05 - week five

WEEK FIVE

Come Sunday morning, the portals around Estelline fade away, but not all of the oddities hanging around disappear so quickly. The recreations of your dreams and memories are still around, ever changing and shifting. Whatever it is that brought these things here hasn’t ended, not yet.

You don’t have time to worry about all of that, though, even if you know you should exercise caution once two of you found yourselves on the bad end of a monster’s claws. The course still isn’t over, though, even if the portals changed lesson plans. Everything continues on, with new places to explore as the fog pushes back once again. This week still feels a little more like what you’re familiar with, though, after Saturday’s lack of lessons.

[ He pretends to think it over as he feeds Hien another cookie. ]

... Fine. Coffee is good enough.

[ His perfect malewife... he nibbles on the cookie a little. ]

[ He smiles over at Hien. ]

Of course, I'll make cookies if you're a really good boy.

You think you can tame me?

[ That question is usually asked with a very aggressive tone, but Hien's tone is light. ]

[ He smiles at Hien as he grabs a chocolate chip cookie for himself. ]

Of course I do. I know I could do it easily.

You sound confident.

[ He keeps nibbling on the cookie. It's really good... a shame that Fai can't prepare a batch every day. ]

[ Fai tilts his head. ]

Why wouldn’t I be?

Why would you be?

[ Hien gets a little huffy so he starts foregoing savoring the cookies and just eats them how he does normally. ]

[ He shrugs. ]

Just a feeling I have.

[ And he notices now that Hien is practically inhaling them. ]

Leave some for the rest of the class.

"Just a feeling", my foot.

[ Hmph!! Though he stops inhaling the cookies now. ]

I better get a hug counter after this. Now that I think about it... I should probably reassure you that I didn't threaten people to write nice things on the card.

[ He makes a face. ]

I don’t know why, but your reassurance just makes me worry more.

I dunno. You probably think about that kind of stuff sometimes.

[ He thinks it's well justified, given how he is. ]

Mm, sometimes. I wouldn’t want you threatening the people we’re supposed to be getting along with.

Well, that's subjective, isn't it? In reality, I wouldn't have to get along with anyone here to pass.

That’s true. You don’t even have to get along with me.

It's beneficial to me if you stop feeling like a mess though.

[ Because they're linked. ]

Here I am anyway, getting along with you. Does that make you happy?

Of course it does.

[ Especially considering the fact that Fai has feelings for him. ]

Why wouldn't I be happy about it?

I don't think you're usually happy.

[ That's why. ]

Are we still friends?

[partymagician]

[ ...Are they?

He has no idea. He's never navigated anything like this before. ]

I don't know. Do you want to just stay friends? What do you want?

Do you like me? Should we date?

[ He wants Fai to answer these questions. ]
