05 - week five

WEEK FIVE

Come Sunday morning, the portals around Estelline fade away, but not all of the oddities hanging around disappear so quickly. The recreations of your dreams and memories are still around, ever changing and shifting. Whatever it is that brought these things here hasn’t ended, not yet.

You don’t have time to worry about all of that, though, even if you know you should exercise caution once two of you found yourselves on the bad end of a monster’s claws. The course still isn’t over, though, even if the portals changed lesson plans. Everything continues on, with new places to explore as the fog pushes back once again. This week still feels a little more like what you’re familiar with, though, after Saturday’s lack of lessons.

Of course I do. I still think about that gazpacho you made.

[ While Hien is used to being complimented over the food he makes, there's something about Fai saying that he still thinks about the gazpacho that makes him surprised. Compliments shouldn't be anything new to someone who worked as a professional chef over several lifetimes, but. Hm. ]

... Was there anything special about it?

Well, it was the first thing you really did for me.

[ So, yes, there was something special about it. ]

[ Hien slowly blinks while staring at Fai. ]

[ He thought he would have done something earlier than that. ]

Well, you did help me decorate our room too, but...

[ He smiles a bit, shrugging. ]

I suppose it's the first thing I felt sentimental over.

I guess feeling sentimental over food isn't so bad.

[ Compared to anything else. ]

I'd make it again for you, but I don't have faith in the available produce right now.

It's a real shame, isn't it?

[ He wants fresh food so badly... Alas. ]

There's plenty of other things you can do for me instead of cooking, at least.

... I can't do anything in the morning though.

[ Though Fai should know that by now. ]

[ That just makes him laugh. ]

Oh, I'm well aware of that by now, Hien.

Then what do you want me to do?

[ He looks over at Fai expectantly. ]

Shower me in affection.

[ Is he serious? Is he joking? It's hard to tell and it could likely be a mix of both. ]

Okay.

[ He will take that as a serious request regardless. Hien will even immediately start by giving Fai a kiss on the cheek. ]

Hehe...

[ He can't help the smile on his face at the kiss, and he returns it with a kiss on Hien's cheek.

Then Fai grabs a shortbread cookie and holds it out to Hien to eat. ]

[ He likes the small kiss on the cheek and nibbles on the shortbread cookie.

Delicious. But he keeps nibbling, so he can't talk. ]

[ He pets Hien's hair. ]

You really were such a cute puppy... I think you're cuter now, though.

[ Hien gives Fai a flat look. He wants to say something, but he's still nibbling... ]

Too afraid to talk back?

[ It's because of the cookie, but he's still very amused. ]

[ Hien frowns and just reaches over to pinch Fai's nose. Suffer. ]

[ He sticks his tongue out, trying to reach whatever part of Hien's hand he can with it... ]

[ He pinches Fai's nose harder, crunches and eats the rest of the shortbread cookie, and frowns some more. ]

You are such a...

What?

[ His voice sounds almost comical, thanks to the way Hien is pinching his nose. ]

... troublemaker.

[ He lets go of his nose, gives it a quick peck and gets up. ]

I better see that hug counter at the end of the day. I'll see you later.

[ He smiles up at Hien. ]
