04 - week four

WEEK FOUR

Saturday comes to a close, and it’s time for some rest and recovery. Perhaps the TLC you deserve will come this week, or perhaps the nightmare will continue. It’s hard to say with things being so strange around you, from Wei Wuxian’s disappearance to the sudden addition of objects and places and creatures from your homes. Who knows what this week will bring? Nothing ordinary, that’s for sure.

You wake up on Sunday to an increase in those little glimpses you saw yesterday. What were snippets of songs, locations that might’ve seemed familiar, and creatures that were dormant, are now all alive and whole. When you go to the karaoke bar, the songs you once knew are there. Monsters and animals are alive and sentient. New business are abound. Vehicles are operable, and perhaps some of your old belongings are back, too.

However, some of these things aren’t even things that should exist outside of your dreams. They may be far too strange and unusual to be real, or just things you don't remember ever seeing. The only thing you remember about these things in particular is that they were, quite literally, in your dreams this week.

That being said, every few hours, all of these things from your homes and dreams fade out and get replaced by new sounds, places, beasts….only to maybe come back again at another time.

Well. At least there's one constant here: You’ve got a handful of new locations to look at, with the fog having spread once more, and they aren't going anywhere. There aren’t as many new places that are native to Estelline this time around, but that may be for the best, considering everything going on.

Also, we have a lot of participants for the news activity from last week. Neat! Everyone who participated in some capacity will have a small polaroid camera delivered to their doorstep. There's limited film, though - 10 photos per camera. It doesn't seem like there's any extra film at this time, either.

Finally, there will not be any weekly tasks this week. You guys are going to be busy with memshare and dreamscape stuff; instead, enjoy the Estelline University Newspaper!

[ he's not going to be telling him what it is. and he should have maybe shown him earlier, but that's neither here nor there. the fruit reminded him he still needed to share his finding.

they should definitely talk about those regrets by the end of the memory stuff.... if nothing else. looks at hands. though that's for another time and a place because right now they're doing some very much not what they were doing the other (ic) day. and even if ace doesn't tell him what it is, it won't stop sabo from asking anyway as he walks towards the park without a doubt of whether or not ace will follow him. ]

[ it's still a bit weird to him what he got from fai, but this place has already proven to be pretty weird. ]

[ this is kind of sus, you know? here sabo is trying to be a good boy and doing something nice for ace and he's being like this??? oh well, to the park they go though sabo will be looking over ace.

I'll say it's sort of something from home.

[ why must ace be cagey about this thing? others have had things from their home dropped off but sabo hasn't seen anything that particularly stuck out to him as being some familiar in the home sense. (if only he knew that the red sake cups were an item to note...)

he's going to rub his cross his arms as they walk and tilt his head back to think of the options that were out there. aside from the motorcycle that madara got back, most items were reasonably sized. hmm. ]

Is it something that you can hang on the wall?

[ he's definitely going to start guessing. ]

[ it's not even him being cagey, he just thinks it'd be a fun surprise to show him.

You could, I guess. But I wouldn't say normally.

[ it's small enough and could technically be put on a wall. but... not something people would likely do. ]

[ well!! why not show it to him now then!! whatever, it's fine because sabo will keep playing along not that he's very confused by what ace tell him. something that's not normally hung on a wall but could be? ]

[ he's thinking of tapestries and the like but you'd hang those on a wall, wouldn't you? ]

[ he doesn't have it on him right now!!! it's back in their room. hence why he can't show him as he's being lured to a picnic. ]

It means you could if you really wanted to, but it'd be weird.

That doesn't make any sense. You could do that with anything then.

[ well whatever!! fine, go bring up something that he can't even show sabo at the moment. it's fine. (no, it's actually fine. he doesn't mind i guess.) but as they get closer to the park sabo will kind of switch gears. ...but only just. ]

This place really is something, isn't it? I've been to a lot of places but this is something else. You'd never find anything like this in the New World.

[ yeah, he's being a bit of a brat with that kind of answer. that's how it goes. ]

It really is. Makes you wonder what kind of places the other people are from, too.

You haven't chatted them up to see what they've had to say?

[ with a bit of a laugh, but it's fine. sometimes you can say a lot of words and not say anything important at all. it's why he'll keep going. ]

From the sound of some of it, it seems like there are some with a lot of common ground but with slight differences here and there. But even for a place to be dictated by emotions, that's a stretch for most.

It hasn't really come up, except with one person.

[ that's just how it goes sometimes. ]

Good to know that's not a normal thing for other people, at least.

I would hope it isn't normal for most people. Everything here makes it sound like it's a pain to deal with.

[ though because he just HAS to say this. ]

I wonder how many times you'd set things on fire if we had something like that back home. I've never heard of anything like it, but I imagine if there was a devil fruit with an ability like this—

It'd be pretty contested.

It'd be a pretty strange fruit to get. If it was only that. I'd stick with my fire, thanks.

[ sabo will hum thoughtfully for a moment. ]

"Fire Fist Ace" does have a better ring to it than whatever the alternative might have been.

[ hmmm. ]

"Big baby Portgas"? Oh, but I think there might be someone else with that epitaph.

[ it's baby five but who's really caring at this point. ]

Yeah, not really a fan of the alternative.

[ he makes a face at that. especially since luffy's the crybaby of the trio. it wouldn't work well for there to be two babies of the group. ]

Maybe it just needs more time to settle on you.

[ he's joking of course because, really, it would be luffy who would be the baby between the three of them. you know, if it had to be one of them. tragically he doesn't have an epitaph like either of the two of them to compare to. ]

[ he gives sabo a look at that and shakes his head. ]

Maybe we just need to figure out a nickname for you instead.

Yeah? And what kind of nickname did you think would work?

Since you said my new nickname should have baby in it, maybe it should go the same for you.

[ he thinks about that. ]

"Stubborn Baby Sabo?"

[ yeah, it's terrible. he can't think of anything better with baby in it. ]

[ that is terrible on a multitude of levels and sabo will definitely make a face at it because come on!!! not like his was any bit better but!!! ]

It was only if you had eaten a fruit that messed with people's emotions or you manipulate things with your emotions.

[ scrunches up his nose. ]

A name like that doesn't suit me at all.

I think the stubborn part suits you pretty well.

[ says this guy who is stubborn to a fault. and, really, sabo is pretty flexible about things, so no. it really doesn't. but he's going to double down on it. ]

How does stubborn fit me?

[ that doesn't mean that he's always stubborn, though. ]
