04 - week four

WEEK FOUR

Saturday comes to a close, and it’s time for some rest and recovery. Perhaps the TLC you deserve will come this week, or perhaps the nightmare will continue. It’s hard to say with things being so strange around you, from Wei Wuxian’s disappearance to the sudden addition of objects and places and creatures from your homes. Who knows what this week will bring? Nothing ordinary, that’s for sure.

You wake up on Sunday to an increase in those little glimpses you saw yesterday. What were snippets of songs, locations that might’ve seemed familiar, and creatures that were dormant, are now all alive and whole. When you go to the karaoke bar, the songs you once knew are there. Monsters and animals are alive and sentient. New business are abound. Vehicles are operable, and perhaps some of your old belongings are back, too.

However, some of these things aren’t even things that should exist outside of your dreams. They may be far too strange and unusual to be real, or just things you don't remember ever seeing. The only thing you remember about these things in particular is that they were, quite literally, in your dreams this week.

That being said, every few hours, all of these things from your homes and dreams fade out and get replaced by new sounds, places, beasts….only to maybe come back again at another time.

Well. At least there's one constant here: You’ve got a handful of new locations to look at, with the fog having spread once more, and they aren't going anywhere. There aren’t as many new places that are native to Estelline this time around, but that may be for the best, considering everything going on.

Also, we have a lot of participants for the news activity from last week. Neat! Everyone who participated in some capacity will have a small polaroid camera delivered to their doorstep. There's limited film, though - 10 photos per camera. It doesn't seem like there's any extra film at this time, either.

Finally, there will not be any weekly tasks this week. You guys are going to be busy with memshare and dreamscape stuff; instead, enjoy the Estelline University Newspaper!

[ YEAH? look at sabo here using words like a grown ass adult. ]

But I don't want to. You're just being— [ kind of as he just waves his hand like it's supposed to mean something??? ] It doesn't matter.

[ he folds his arms across his chest and looks down. ]

What I did to your doppelganger... It was selfish of me.

[ stares at my "biggey" typo there...

he's about to ask why it doesn't matter when he's cut off by what sabo says. he frowns at that. ]

It was. [ he won't even act like it was otherwise. ] And stupid.

[ tbh i thought it was intentional. ]

I know.

[ in a small voice and still not quite looking at ace. neither his shoes or the ground are particularly interesting and he's not one to avoid eye contact but this is a bit different. ace is different. ]

Let me make it up to you.

[iubar]

[ cries a little. ]

Hm.

[ he lets out a sigh. he was really mad at the entire situation, but he's not going to keep being pissed about it. especially not while sabo's acting like this. ]

Sure. I'll go along with your plan.

[vivens]

[ when did you end up sleeping... ]

Thank you Ace.

[ he means this with full sincerity and he'll proceed to lead ace the rest of the way to the fruit trees which are a bit off the beaten path. it's nothing awful and they don't have to go too far given how sabo got here in the first place—but he'll present ace a nice little grove.

it's probably somewhat isolated and ignored since no one else wants to monopolize on the fruit so. you know. there are apples, pears, plums, you know. fruit trees! and maybe a covered plate.... it's probably not an impressive sight but it's a nice break from everything else. you now, to be surrounded by the greenery. ]

[ living off naps. ]

Yeah, it's no big deal.

[ his response isn't meant to sound dismissive, just following sabo along now.

but he appreciates this sight, that sabo has found. sure, it's nothing like what they had back home when they were kids, but it's a nice little area. ]

[ i guess that's better than my 2 hrs of sleep with no naps.... ]

Sorry, I couldn't find any hidden jungles hiding away in the fog.

[ it's fine even if ace does sound dismissive of him; sabo has thick skin and any kind of stiff lip behavior will totally feel like it was deserved. of course this also means he doesn't stop and walks over to a particular spot under an apple tree before taking a seat on the ground. they didn't need blankets or anything like that right?

[ i'm glad you're getting sleep now... ]

Better try harder next time.

[ he jabs back a bit, following to the tree. he crouches down near sabo. ]

Planning to fill me up with fruit?

[ passes out like the dead, oversleeps, and then gets to work late.... :tiredcat: ]

Try egg sandwiches. [ he'll pull back the sheet over the plate that he might have prepared for him here. though before ace is able to take one off of the plate, he'll pull back with a grin on his face. ] —but if you're not interested in them and want to fill yourself up on fruit then be my guest.

[ just because sabo wanted to do something nice for ace doesn't mean he's going to put up with ace being a brat. that's not how things work. ]

[ oh nooooo... ]

Wait, wait. I never said I wasn't interesting in those, either.

[ he should know better by this point, but he sure doesn't. it's just how he is with sabo. ]

[vivens]

[ he should really know better, and sabo is going to keep playing keep-away with the food for a bit longer. ]

Why would I turn down something you made me?

[ don't make him do some grabby hands, sabo. ]

[vivens]

[ maybe he wants to see it. ]

I don't know, Ace. Why would you turn down something that I would have made for you?

[ no!!! don't make him!! ]

I wouldn't. I didn't.

[ continues to keep the egg sandos away from him then. ]

You never answered my first question.

[ there were a few questions. which was the first?? ]

and just to prepare for ace trying something, sabo will stand up and walk over towards the apple tree and wedge the plate between some branches. of course, he won't be so cruel as not to throw ace a bone (apple). ]

I'll let you figure that one out.

[ he thinks about that for a moment. when sabo tosses him the apple, he catches it and looks at it. maybe...? ]

Yeah, I am pretty hungry.

[ time to nom on this apple, at least. ]

[ first try!

sabo will look pleased and while he doesn't go to remove the plate he does grab one of the sando slices from the plate before he walks over to ace. he holds it out to ace. now if ace wants to take it from him, that's fine or if he wants to eat it out of sabo's hand then.....that can also happen. ]

I only brought the sandwiches so they're going to have to do.

[ the apple was a really good tip off! ]

Then it looks like I'll be eating plenty of fruit, too.

[ he leans and grabs the sandwich from sabo's hand with his mouth because why not? he's good with taking it in one bite. ]

Just as long as you don't eat everything here.

[ he'll linger for a bit before getting another slice of the sando. go finish your apple ace. shame that the flowers are over where the art pieces are because sabo would have totally plucked one for ace.

just for the hell of it. instead he'll just vibe quietly. ]

No promises.

[ no, no. he'll be behaving and not devour everything and ruin it for everything else. but he will be tasting various fruits here. but for the fruit he has, he does finish it off. ]

[vivens]

[ thank you ace and sabo will still be standing watching, only moving to fold his arms. ]

I would almost joke and ask you to test yourself but I won't. If you make yourself sick, then it will be me who will have to deal with the aftermath.

[ he says, expecting sabo to take care of him, even if sabo would be suffering from the overeating, too. ]

[ well, it's fair because sabo would take care of ace while also feeling sick himself but you know. that's just how he is. ]

Definitely in more ways than one.
