3.0 - week three

WEEK THREE

Last night might have been exhausting for any number of reasons - maybe it was the emotional

toll of dealing with those ghosts, or maybe you stayed up too late after watching Jim Shrok. Who knows, but Saturday is over, even if some of you haven’t quite left it behind and half spirits that are still hanging on, tethered to you and weighing you down…

But that’s not going to stop a new week from starting. There’s no breaks in an eight week course.

There’s very little fanfare to the start of your third week of the course, though it does seem like the fog has lifted even more. It’s a bit more of a trek down the abandoned streets of Estelline, but surely a mile is walkable? Or you could grab a bike or try to hotwire one of those cars in the mall parking lot… Whatever you plan to do this week is up to you. All you know is you've got some new locations to explore.

Let's put a notice out for it so we can find the owner.

[ He feels like it could be anyone's, especially if they try to come up with reasons why it could and couldn't be a certain person. ]

Yeah, that'll work.

[ People are pretty attached to their weapons, after all. He tries to imagine if his bundle of wires were here. He'd absolutely want that back, but mostly because it isn't really his in the first place. ]

[ He takes out a broom and a strange fruit-like doll. ]

These two things. I wonder why we have a broom... I think we keep this room tidy.

[ And if Hien doesn't make an effort, Fai makes enough of one for the both of them. ]

[ He's not THAT bad... though it only gets worse with more possessions he obtains. ]

Maybe it's Owen's and he uses it to fly in the sky or something. Maybe that's a wizard equivalent.

That plush looks squishable. Toss it to me.

[ Fai tosses it over to Hien. ]

Do wizards actually use brooms to fly...?

[ That's so weird. Fai might as well have a huge cauldron and flowing robes in that case. ]

Depends on the world, I guess. Witches are known to fly on brooms, so the male equivalent must be the same.

[ He catches the fruit plush and squishes it. It's so soft... ]

[ Huh. To think the old legends can match reality in some worlds... ]

You really like soft things, don't you?

[ It's cute...

Fai pulls out an old suitcase, setting it to the side. It very clearly belongs to someone, what with its age. ]

... Yeah.

[ He tosses the fruit doll back to Fai. ]

Damn, that's a janky old suitcase. It looks at least forty years old.

[ Fai catches it, setting it on his bed with the other things. ]

Must be some sort of heirloom. I'm sure whoever it belongs to will be happy to have it back.

[ He supposes that's right and nods before going back to one of his own boxes. But then he draws out a sheathed sword. ]

A sword...

Wow, it's pretty~

[ They sure are getting a lot of weapons, though... Maybe Fai should feel somewhat concerned. ]

[selfconcept]

[ Hien doesn't feel concerned at all, because it means more people are competent at fighting. And he really wants to fight someone for real when he isn't possessed by a freaking ghoul. ]

I wonder whose it could be. It looks fancy.

[partymagician]

Someone who is good at using a sword.

[ ... ]

And someone who has money.

Too bad we're all in solidarity of being fucking poor right now.

[ But he's been liking this turn of events where money isn't needed so he doesn't have to be too much of a hobo. ]

Sword is a really common weapon too.

[ He squints at the sword. Maybe he can try to match the aesthetics. ]

Mm, it is.

[ He wonders if they'll even be able to guess who it might belongs to... Hm. ]

I suppose we'll need to put out a message for that too.

[ Fai goes back into his boxes finding some more hot sauce shirts and another text-to-speech device. He just sets those aside without comment. ]

[ He notices the hot sauce shirts. Boy... ]

Maybe they're taunting you.

[partymagician]

[ He balls one of the shirts up and throws it right at Hien's face. ]

[ Hey??? Suddenly Hien gets a face full of hot sauce shirt before he pulls it away to see the design in full. ]

Can't believe that worked.

[partymagician]

[ Whatever reaction Fai had is now gone and replaced with a smirk. ]

Take in the moment. I'm sure you feel very lucky right now.

[selfconcept]

Not really.

[ Yeah, he just dismisses it like that. But. ]

But it's nice seeing that side of you too.

[partymagician]

What side of me?

[ That side of him doesn't exist and he refuses to acknowledge it!

He throws the other shirt at Hien's face. ]

You having the audacity to throw things at my f--

[ That sure is a shirt over his face!! ]

You rude boy.

I never said I was a nice boy, did I?

[ He laughs, clearly amused. ]

[selfconcept]

[ He throws the shirt back at Fai's face. But whether he dodges, or hits the shirt out of the way, Hien will be up close in his face with a quieter voice than usual: ]

I like it better that way.

[partymagician]

[ That just earns Hien a smile as Fai reaches out to lightly tug on his shirt, a mischievous look in his eyes. ]

Do you now? I had no idea.
