02.50 - week two, saturday

W2 SATURDAY
Like last Saturday, everyone will get an announcement on their tablets; this time, the announcement is preceded with a bell of some sort before Lorelei appears on the screen again.

"Good morning, everyone. This is an announcement to let you know that today's lesson will take place starting at 8:15 tonight. Again, today's lesson will be starting at 8:15. Please meet at the lower campus exit near the lecture by 8:00pm; Florence will be waiting for you there.

If you have a bag for some snacks and, perhaps, an item you can use for self-defense in the case of an emergency, please arrive with those things on you. We will provide you with an overview of what to expect when you arrive at 8pm.

Thank you."

The alert ends.

You have the day to prepare, ask each other what the hell is happening -- Florence and Lorelei do not seem to be available, strangely enough. There's a lot to take in with the information you have now. But before you know it... night falls.

[ Something about what Owen says cuts deep, right through the source of his resentment. Gentaro already has enough marks on his soul. He doesn't need any more. For a moment, he's aware that the resentment is not all his, but that moment is all it takes.

Dice, Ramuda, and-- him, too. What would they say, what would they think if they found out he'd taken a life? It's that love for them that burns right through the resentment.

He steps back, releasing Owen. Once the ghoul exits his body, Gentaro looks shaken. It doesn't last long; he doesn't want to give Owen even more ammo. The mask returns, unreadable as ever, but he knows it can't be as convincing as he would like. ]

... I'm afraid I cannot allow you the satisfaction.

[Ah.

He's not sure if he's disappointed or not when Gentaro steps away. He's alive, for now, and what's a guy got to do to shove people off the deep end?]

So you're back to being yourself.

[He sighs, pushing off from the wall.]

I thought you were a worse person than this.

[Is that... a compliment????]

I value your opinion of me. It is heartening to know that you do not think of me as a worse person.

[ His voice is tight. He's angry--angry at himself, for allowing those emotions to get the best of him; at the Instructor, for demanding this of them; at Owen, for provoking him. Behind all that, there's a touch of shame Gentaro doesn't know how to handle.

Well. Ignoring those uncomfortable feelings has never done him wrong. ]

I would warn you not to provoke those stronger than you, but there would be no point, would there?

[WHY ARE YOU RUNNING? WHY ARE YOU RUNNING FROM YOUR FEELINGS?]

Is there a way to get stronger without challenging yourself? Though I can't say I'm a fond of everything needing to be so physical.

[He considers the younger man for a moment, head cocked.]

But will you actually be so easy to prove again, I wonder. Did this possession just show me a more true side of you?
catarou: (You’ll find yourself directly & speedily)

How wonderful that we have that in common. I prefer to use my words, but this is far from a normal situation, is it not?

[ >:( ]

You will have to see, won't you? I would like to see your attempts. I am sure they will be valiant indeed.

You seem quite adept at using your hands.

[ ....

Gentaro turns without another word and walks away. He doesn't need to deal with this anymore. He has enough to worry about, and Owen is certainly not worth his time.

... Loathe as he is to admit it, Owen was partially right about one thing: He won't ever forget this. ]
