02.50 - week two, saturday

W2 SATURDAY
Like last Saturday, everyone will get an announcement on their tablets; this time, the announcement is preceded with a bell of some sort before Lorelei appears on the screen again.

"Good morning, everyone. This is an announcement to let you know that today's lesson will take place starting at 8:15 tonight. Again, today's lesson will be starting at 8:15. Please meet at the lower campus exit near the lecture by 8:00pm; Florence will be waiting for you there.

If you have a bag for some snacks and, perhaps, an item you can use for self-defense in the case of an emergency, please arrive with those things on you. We will provide you with an overview of what to expect when you arrive at 8pm.

Thank you."

The alert ends.

You have the day to prepare, ask each other what the hell is happening -- Florence and Lorelei do not seem to be available, strangely enough. There's a lot to take in with the information you have now. But before you know it... night falls.

[ Well, this angry bear is stalking toward Sholmes looking mighty irritated. ]

Yeah, it bothers me. Guess I'll have to make you stop.

[Oh, better be careful here. Sholmes takes a step back, guard up]

...I don't recommend you attempt to. Is it truly what you wish to do?

[This definitely has to be the work of a ghoul, and although the rules behind how these work eluded Sholmes, them being like nothing he had encountered before, he's trying so hard to figure out what's the way to deal with them. Getting into physical violence doesn't seem like the way, but walking away and leaving alone can't be it either.

Still, in the eyes of someone supernaturally angry, the refusal to step away can be taken as defiance, and if the worst happens, he would have to defend himself, he decides]

Give me a good reason why I shouldn't.

[ Unfortunately, when Ace is mad, he gets stubborn and won't back down an inch. For better or worse. ]

Of course it's what I want to do.

[ And he stalks toward Sholmes like he's ready to throw down with him. ]

[Oh, there he comes! Looks like there's no further time for trying to figure out anything, he's coming straight at Sholmes! Sholmes raises his arms, intending to block for now, if punches begin happening. Tire him out? Wait for a chance to strike? Keep him talking? Well, regardless of what he can do, letting himself get pummeled is not a viable option, he thinks!]

Go ahead. Once you have tired yourself out you might listen to reason!

[Yeah, Sholmes isn't getting out of this without being sore, at least. He doesn't want to back down either]

[ Looks like it's a fight they're going to get. Without another word, he's going after Sholmes with a full-force punch. (8) ]

Like you've got any reason to give me.

[Ah, a 15 for me! Sholmes blocks the punch with an arm, managing to keep his footing steady to avoid retreating. Doesn't advance, but hey, he managed to endure it! Thank goodness for having decently strong arms thanks to boxing]

Do you mean to say the only way to convince you to stop is to knock you down to the floor?

I'd like to see you try.

[ This might not be the best of ideas. But given his rage that's making him a lot more reckless, he's just going for more punches here. I ROLLED A 1? Why won't dice let me beat up Sholmes in ANY game?? ]

[Hah, hey, a five isn't much better when it's about defending. Sholmes doubles over, the punches connecting and winding him for a moment. Oh, there's not much that one can do when you're punched repeatedly. He can pretty much feel himself getting bruised -- reckless those attacks may be, but given how bad his defensive stance got, they do the job well enough!

Until Sholmes pulls his arm back, aims, I roll a natural 20 WHY DO YOU GIVE ME THIS WHEN I ROLL FOR A PUNCH, BOT, and Sholmes throws a right hook to Ace's face]

[ Luckily Ace isn't a slow man when it comes to fighting, having been in some very intense situations. He's able to fend off most of the punch to the face, only getting lightly scuffed.

That punch toward the face doesn't stop him from going back on the attack. He's determined to keep going. Except his punches amount in a 2. Cool. ]

[That's a tough face. Ace's experience in fighting shines through! Sholmes pulls back his fist, sweating because that absolutely hurt. It's a miracle he didn't break his fingers, natural 20 or not last time, because this time it was a 1. His right fist is out of commission -- not broken but he can't risk aggravating his already aching hand, hah.

His left hand isn't one he tends to use, but hey, at least he still attempts to pack a punch on that one. Brushing aside Ace's punches with an elbow, Sholmes bends and throws upwards with his remaining hand, to the solar plexus, with the acceptable might of a 14]
