WEEK TWO

When the glitter settles and everyone returns to their dorms - or wherever they intend to sleep for the night, if you’re planning on sleeping at all - your first week of school officially ends. Perhaps it was better than you expected, perhaps it was worse.

Hopefully you learned a bit more about teamwork and school spirit.

Still, this course is going to run for longer than a full week, and come Sunday morning you’re still exactly as you were when you settled down for the night. Still in Estelline, still with that mark on your wrist, still connected to your partner. There are some changes, though. The bookstore has received quite a few books, and those of you who added to the bulletin board and pep rally tasks in the first week will find an envelope taped to their dorm door (or themselves, if they spent the night elsewhere). Inside of the envelope is some kind of voucher! Furthermore, the common area is covered in a bunch of glitter.

Also, there are a ton of eggs in the kitchen – at least 10 dozens.

Florence or Lorelei are still available, should you wish to speak to them.

Finally, you've got some new locations to explore.

OOC NOTE

OOC: Anyone who performed in the Pep Rally (Sabo, Madara, Riku, Shizuku, Herlock, Idia, Flat, Miach) task will be able to redeem a voucher for a prize with one of the NPCs. This can be handwaved, and the prize selection is below.

-Single-serve coffee machine wither a selection of creamer. Comes with packs of coffee beans.
-Popcorn maker and kernels.
-High-quality tea kettle with a selection of just as high-quality tea.
-Carbonation machine (think Sodastream, etc) with flavored syrup.

Any coffee, tea, popcorn, etc. will last characters up to two weeks.

Anyone who participated in the Bulletin Board task will receive a voucher for your choice of two pairs colorful socks with cute animal designs. (Worry frog design available.)

I can make meals using the staples we’ve been provided, but it would grow old fast.

Yes, and while the snacks are helpful they aren't the most... nutritious... but we'll manage, I'm sure of it!

[ He frowns a little. ]

It's a shame there's nowhere to hunt. That would be a viable option for all of us...

( admittedly, the idea of killing and treating fresh meat is. uh. definitely not something shizuku herself can handle, but she definitely sees the appeal, and... well, she does practice archery. she'd want to help how she can. )

I get the feeling if there is opportunity, we might not be able to discover it for a while.

I don't think so either. And I worry that there might be no animals around at all.

[ With the lack of people, it's a real concern. Maybe they're the only living beings around. ]

( it's quiet. too quiet, sometimes. but then someone will come by, and it's not so alone anymore. but thirty people does not a bustling city make. )

... I at least have faith that they won't let us starve.

So do I. It seems like they want to ensure our safety, for the most part.

[ But who's to say how long that will keep up? He isn't so sure, now that they know the of the possibility that things will get harder. ]

... I don't understand what they're trying to do here, honestly. But I'm glad I got to meet the others, at least. And you, too. ... I keep thinking you'd get along with my mom.

Oh, you think so?

[ He felt like the mom of his little traveling group, so the fact that she thinks he'd get along with her own doesn't surprise him much. ]

Mm. She's calm but playful, too. But more than that, she likes to take care of people. She'd have you bundled up in a blanket with some tea before you could blink, I'm sure of it.

That sounds nice.

[ It has him thinking now, though… ]

If you ever want tea, Shizuku, come find me and I’ll make some for you.

( shizuku beams at the offer. )

[ He smiles at her, and something about it seems a little more... genuine. ]

Of course. It's the least I could do while we're all stuck here, right?

You already do quite a bit. I know you check on others... and you've cooked and make cookies, too.

( but she's certainly not complaining! if anything, she sits there, basking in the warmth of it all. )

[ He laughs a little. ]

Ah… I do. I like doing that sort of thing.

[ Even if it gets him involved in their lives. ]

It's sweet of you. I think it'd be a bit lonelier without you, honestly.

[ That catches him off guard for a moment and his eyes widen ever so slightly before he smiles softly. ]

I'm glad that I'm here, in that case.

shizuku blinks for a moment, looking at fai almost curiously. )

Did you not expect someone to feel that way, Fai?

[ ...Ah.

He didn't expect her to catch that, and he wasn't quick enough in covering up his expression. ]

I'm not used to others feeling that way. But it's nice to know someone does. I appreciate it.
