02 - week two

WEEK TWO

When the glitter settles and everyone returns to their dorms - or wherever they intend to sleep for the night, if you’re planning on sleeping at all - your first week of school officially ends. Perhaps it was better than you expected, perhaps it was worse.

Hopefully you learned a bit more about teamwork and school spirit.

Still, this course is going to run for longer than a full week, and come Sunday morning you’re still exactly as you were when you settled down for the night. Still in Estelline, still with that mark on your wrist, still connected to your partner. There are some changes, though. The bookstore has received quite a few books, and those of you who added to the bulletin board and pep rally tasks in the first week will find an envelope taped to their dorm door (or themselves, if they spent the night elsewhere). Inside of the envelope is some kind of voucher! Furthermore, the common area is covered in a bunch of glitter.

Also, there are a ton of eggs in the kitchen – at least 10 dozens.

Florence or Lorelei are still available, should you wish to speak to them.

Finally, you've got some new locations to explore.

OOC NOTE

OOC: Anyone who performed in the Pep Rally (Sabo, Madara, Riku, Shizuku, Herlock, Idia, Flat, Miach) task will be able to redeem a voucher for a prize with one of the NPCs. This can be handwaved, and the prize selection is below.

-Single-serve coffee machine wither a selection of creamer. Comes with packs of coffee beans.
-Popcorn maker and kernels.
-High-quality tea kettle with a selection of just as high-quality tea.
-Carbonation machine (think Sodastream, etc) with flavored syrup.

Any coffee, tea, popcorn, etc. will last characters up to two weeks.

Anyone who participated in the Bulletin Board task will receive a voucher for your choice of two pairs colorful socks with cute animal designs. (Worry frog design available.)

[ Chongyun's never had it before, but he's heard that there's a bar in Mondstadt that serves it - and various other drinks made with it. ]

I'm surprised that they have it here. Isn't it a little exotic?

[ Chongyun's world must not have easily accessible coffee... interesting. ]

I've always had coffee easily available to me in different worlds, so it's incredibly common to me.

[ Fai must mean metaphorically. Different cultures are sometimes described as different worlds, aren't they? (Spoilers: he missed the memo on the different worlds bit of their current adventure, whoops.) ]

Huh. Is it equally as popular everywhere you've been - as it is in Mondstadt? I heard a rumor that the Tianquan herself traveled all the way there for a cup.

Mondstadt? Never heard of it.

[ But if coffee is popular there, maybe he should visit. ]

It was relatively popular in Celes, since it can be served warm and Celes was a cold place.

Ah, it's the neighboring city-state to Liyue.

[ Served warm? No... thanks... ]

Personally, I'd prefer it cold even in a cold place...

Really? Even if there was snow everywhere, you would still want something cold?

Yes, I've been striving to train my body to only require the minimum amount of heat.

[ As long as he has enough to live, that's good enough. ]

I've been weak to all things hot and fiery since birth. It's a... special condition.

[ Wow... that's something he's never heard of. ]

Does it make you feel sick?

Kind of. It's mostly bouts of discomfort, or it overwhelms me and I have trouble breathing. And if it gets to be too much, I act - uh... unlike myself. I'm told I can be rather wild.

[partymagician]

Sounds serious... almost like an allergy.

[ What with the trouble breathing and everything. ]

We'll need to make sure you don't get near any fire here.

[ An allergy is a good way of describing it, even if it isn't 100% accurate. ]

I'm working on it, I promise. I don't wish to trouble you or anyone here with my condition. If something should happen, and I were to hold us back... Well, I'll work hard to make sure that doesn't happen!

Don't put it all on yourself, though. I'm sure plenty of us wouldn't mind help you if you got into a bind.

Plenty of you have already helped me, so I don't doubt your words at all.

[ He rubs the back of his neck and flashes Fai a shy smile. ]

But I'd also like to be able to help in return. We don't seem to need an exorcist - or a fighter - yet, so I'd like to work on being a good... A good ally to everyone.

[ He almost said friend but surely that would have been too presumptuous. ]

[ Ah... Chongyun is so sweet and sincere. Fai is really fond of him. ]

You're already doing a fantastic job.

[ And because he caught that small slip— ]

I think everyone here is happy to have someone like you as their friend.

[cloudalike]

Heh... you really think so?

[ It's strange to hear. He doesn't understand how to have fun like Xiangling or Xingqiu, so he's always been a little anxious about making friends. ]
