07 - the final week

FINAL WEEK

You returned safely from the island, with fresh fruit and plenty of seafood, and your Saturday comes to an end. There was much less betrayal, much less turmoil, this past lesson… but does that mean you’ll have time to relax?

The fog has pulled back, revealing the rest of the university’s campus. ... Actually, the fog is completely gone. Interesting, that. You'll also notice that at night, there are no orbs to be found. It looks like Lorelei was true to her word regarding Saturday's activity being the final orb.

There are also, occasionally, other figures that come into view when you look around. Other figures that look like...people. People you haven't seen before, roaming the streets. Some of them look like they're seeing Estelline for the first time in a long while. Others look like they're exhausted and seem to be making their way towards the Residential Area, presumably to rest. There aren't many of them, come Sunday...but they're here.

The end is finally near – and Lorelei confirms that with another 8am announcement on Sunday. She is also, notably, wearing a more visible set of earrings.

"Good morning, students. I would like to formally congratulate you on surviving these last few weeks. This week should be your last, and I will be dedicating it to your evaluations. I'm aware that you know the nature of this "course" by now, but you will be able to return home soon. Regardless, I thank you for your participation.

mild investigation in the last prompt!

( monday's a downer so it's sunday time. and sunday time means a bit of exploration! especially with the fog gone completely- wild. so! she's going to take a look around after grabbing a nice orange to take with her for a breakfast on the go.

first up? the library. by which i mean one may find her curled up somewhere with the tablet- how it's survived in her care for this long i don't know but it keeps getting high rolls- and a variety of books.

then she makes her way to the music room and oh goodness there's so much here! and thus here you can find shizuku practicing not just her instruments but singing as well- which isn't to say that she's been neglecting this, but it just sounds better in a room with good acoustics, you know?

but eventually... shizuku will see one of the other figures. at which point she will promptly run over to try and talk to them- )

[The person Shizuku approaches looks - well, tired would be a good word for it.]

I'm... fine?

[They don't sound or look very fine, and they look equal parts confused, wary, and touched by Shizuku's approach.]

Ah... do you need to sit down for a bit?

( they look exhausted. it makes her feel bad that she's inclined to press for information a little. but there's a bench nearby and if they're amicable to it, she'll gently guide them to it. )

I'm sorry. This must all be so strange.

[They don't complain about being led to the bench, at least, even if they just look even more tired.]

It is, but... I'm glad to be out of there.

Was it a strange sphere, by any chance?

( she's pretty sure the answer is yes, but like. confirmation helps. )

I, yeah, it was, but that was like... two months ago...!

( that's not surprising, and neither is the time lost. shizuku frowns internally, but she's going to keep a soothing presence. )

I believe most of the town was trapped in those spheres. But it looks like people are being freed, at least... For what it's worth, I'm glad you were able to get out, however it happened.

...But not really. It was so strange, and I don't really know what was going on there, and after a while...

[Shizuku's too nice and gentle for them to be bothered by the pressing - if it had been anyone else, well... They might not be so willing to talk.]

After a while, I didn't really care anymore? It got kind of hard to care about anything, but my memories of that time... They're all pretty fuzzy.

These are the lyrics to one of our songs, WiSH VOYAGE. I thought that since we're idols, sharing our songs would be the best way to remember each other by.

( she'd... expected a song. but as a goodbye present..? there's an unpleasant pang in her chest, despite her smile. it doesn't feel quite right on her face, though. )

That does sound fitting. I have a few things I've been writing, but none of them are on me right now...
