05 - week five
WEEK FIVE
Come Sunday morning, the portals around Estelline fade away, but not all of the oddities hanging around disappear so quickly. The recreations of your dreams and memories are still around, ever changing and shifting. Whatever it is that brought these things here hasn’t ended, not yet.
You don’t have time to worry about all of that, though, even if you know you should exercise caution once two of you found yourselves on the bad end of a monster’s claws. The course still isn’t over, though, even if the portals changed lesson plans. Everything continues on, with new places to explore as the fog pushes back once again. This week still feels a little more like what you’re familiar with, though, after Saturday’s lack of lessons.
...For now.
SETTING TRACKER
SUNDAY MONDAY TUESDAY WEDNESDAY THURSDAY FRIDAY
SAGE / FLORENCE / LORELEI
CYOA SIGNUPS
Due Saturday at 8pm EST

[immediately deflecting the responsibility]

...I don't think he would be willing to accept food from us so soon.
[because surely people wouldn't sit around eating popcorn as they interrogated this guy right]
no subject
No, he definitely meant for like, us watching.
[Tact? What's that?]
... do you want a drink?
[he has grape, cola, and gamerfuel]
no subject
No, I'm good.
[...]
Are you going to watch?
no subject
[he kinda figured he would watch]
I don't really care about asking him too many questions. Madara relayed that he doesn't really know about us getting home, so...
no subject
[honestly, he doesn't even know how it got to this point...
but he nods. honestly, that's fair.]
At this point, there probably isn't much else we can get out of him either. He doesn't seem to be anything more than a low-ranking employee, and his superior might have sent him out for this task because he was considered expendable.
no subject
The fact they sent a person at all... what is this, the mythic age?...
[Although, again, it's telling in the ongoing saga of who has access to what systems and information.]
no subject
I don't think it's that unusual if they wanted to observe our reactions directly. But it's also possible they simply had no other way of gathering information otherwise.
[Unless they sent robots?!]
no subject
It seems like they're clueless. Most of the time we've ran into strangers...
[pause, pause, checking Idia memory]
... the last one I saw was that ringmaster? So, of course, suddenly introducing a stranger was going to make people nervous.
[Like, seeing a person that wasn't one of them on campus was still a huge deal!]
no subject
Nervous isn't the word I would use. [especially since some people seem a little too gleeful at the prospect of torture] But I do think they weren't prepared for this to happen.
[or at least kyle wasn't, because he sure didn't expect the estelline inquisition]
no subject
Nervous. Jumpy. Quick to act.
[It's less synonyms and more explaining the jump in logic. They were a volatile mixture in a cauldron and the people in charge were stupid enough to tell the intern to go put their face above the beaker with no safety goggles on.]
It proves they're clueless, then, like they really thought we'd just obediently give feedback...
no subject
[Not that he would disagree if Idia had outright said they were stupid, because honestly? Yeah, it was a pretty dumb move.]
