3.0 - week three

WEEK THREE

Last night might have been exhausting for any number of reasons - maybe it was the emotional

toll of dealing with those ghosts, or maybe you stayed up too late after watching Jim Shrok. Who knows, but Saturday is over, even if some of you haven’t quite left it behind and half spirits that are still hanging on, tethered to you and weighing you down…

But that’s not going to stop a new week from starting. There’s no breaks in an eight week course.

There’s very little fanfare to the start of your third week of the course, though it does seem like the fog has lifted even more. It’s a bit more of a trek down the abandoned streets of Estelline, but surely a mile is walkable? Or you could grab a bike or try to hotwire one of those cars in the mall parking lot… Whatever you plan to do this week is up to you. All you know is you've got some new locations to explore.

Maybe sometimes, but don't count on it all the time.

[ well. the proud tattoo is mostly marred by the large scarring back there, unfortunately, but that doesn't mean he doesn't need to stop showing it off with pride. though, maybe showing that scar on his back and chest is a bit unfair as a constant reminder of what happened to sabo. ]

also how thoughtful of ace to consider what the scar might be doing to sabo after these many weeks. it's okay though because sabo is a big boy who has a scar of his own that isn't being hidden either. ]

Well, thank you for agreeing to wearing whatever clothes you do end up in whenever that is.

[ and sabo will continue to fiddle and fuss with ace's shirt until it sits on him just "right". he might even brush a few strands of hair back from ace's face and "tame" it some as he looks down at the rest of what he's wearing. ]

Can I get you to try on pants properly or are you going to be completely adverse to pants.

[ he considers this for a moment before shrugging. ]

You know what? Fine. You've already got this much, I'll humor you.

[ he'll humor sabo for now, but he better get something nice out of it later. ]

[ what else can sabo do for ace!! isn't a bright, winning smile enough?? because that is what he'll get as soon as he agrees before immediately finding the next article of clothing that he would like ace to try on. ]

Then put these on.

[ holding out a pair of simple black jeans. they're not the skinny type but just normal fitted straight-legged jeans. ace should be able to handle that, right? it's almost like trading in what he's wearing now for something longer. ]

[ sabo's creative, he can think of something beyond that charming smile!! though, the smile is a good treat for him.

he'll behave and go to the changing room to try on these pants. once finished, he comes out with his new outfit complete. ]

[ sabo's already his malewife!! what else can he do for ace here?? glad that the smile is some form of adequate payment, at least. but thank you for going to change the room like a normal person... though the reveal does take him a moment.

...had he ever seen ace dressed liked this before? well, the answer is obvious there but. huh. ]

It's not a bad look. How do you feel about it?

and don't worry, he was thinking about changing right there. it wouldn't be fun otherwise. he looks down at his pants. they feel fine and they're functional. ]

Great, now, how often would I be able to see you dressed up like this?

Maybe we could look into getting more items then to see what else might inspire you.

[ good question. maybe when they don't fail on a date in the future. ]

That too. You'll keep humoring me, right? At least until we get you a week's worth of clothes to wear.

A week's? Why so much?

Most people have more than a week's worth of clothing, Ace. It's normal.

[ and just like that he's going back to the racks and shelves to see what would look nice on ace. ]

[ I SAID NEVER, WHATCHA GONNA DO. FIGHT ME? ]

Sure, when we were kids.

[ things were different when they were kids. ]

[ MAYBE?

but also squints at the reasoning. what kind of logic is this?? he'll come back with basically a set of clothing that cannot possibly be offensive. they are designed to be easy to move in and is loose enough to where it isn't sabo's level of ""form fitting"" but not completely shapeless either. ]

Did you really have a week's worth of clothes? I'm pretty sure you only had new clothes because Makino brought you whatever she had.

I might have. Didn't really keep track.

[ he looks at the clothes before he goes into the dressing room like a good boy. after changing into the new set, he comes out with the other set of clothes he was wearing to toss at sabo. he can hold onto the clothes. ]

This wouldn't be so bad for lazing around.

[ sabo just quietly "hmm"s to ace's comment about not paying attention because he can't help but feel like that was a complete lie. nevertheless he says nothing and is only mildly offended when ace throws the clothes he had been wearing previous his way.

there are better ways to go about that!!! but he carefully folds them up in his arms as he looks ace over. ]

I think that's what they're designed for. [ hmmm. ] Are they as comfortable as they looked?

[ yeah, don't worry about that part if it's a lie or a not. but as far as tossing his clothes, at least he didn't throw them aside or on the ground, okay??

besides, if sabo wants this, he can keep track of the clothes he'll be taking. ]

They actually are. I wouldn't mind relaxing in these.

[vivens]

[ there are only so many small blessings that sabo should be allowed to count... but he is fine with carrying the clothes that he has in his arms right now. it isn't like it's a whole lot. once they start to increase in number then he'll start complaining. ]

Okay, one more for the collection.

[ looking around and while he could keep going— ]

Do you see anything that you might want to try on?

Hm...

[ he's poking through the clothes, but he's not really sure what calls to him. though, he does grab a plain shirt off the rack that seems about the same size as the others and tosses at sabo. no need to try it on, really. ]

Maybe this.

[ he's grabbing a hoodie from nearby, a red one, and pulls it on over his head. it's without patterns, but has pockets in the front. very comfy. ]

They've got one in blue, too.

[ sabo is fine to catch whatever is thrown his way even if he does frown slightly at a shirt that comes his way that ace doesn't even bother to try on. it would probably look good on him because it would be hard for something so simple to not but still! the hoodie, however, does get him to raise an eyebrow. ]

You want to match?

[ he's going to put the clothes down onto the counter and shrug off his coat before slipping on the matching hoodie. it's cozy and comfortable. though, well, simple? not that simple is wrong or bad.

it's just that sabo's typically been a bit "fancier" between the two of them. ]

Does it look good on me? I think something like this suits you just fine.

[ sometimes it's nice to have a change of pace with what you wear, isn't it? he walks over to sabo and checks out the hoodie. to the point that he even reaches to pull the hood up over his hair and grins. ]

It's different, but not a bad kind of different.

[ he doesn't really comment on the matching part. sure, that's what it is, but it's not a big deal, right? ]
