3.0 - week three
WEEK THREE
Last night might have been exhausting for any number of reasons - maybe it was the emotional
toll of dealing with those ghosts, or maybe you stayed up too late after watching Jim Shrok. Who knows, but Saturday is over, even if some of you haven’t quite left it behind and half spirits that are still hanging on, tethered to you and weighing you down…
But that’s not going to stop a new week from starting. There’s no breaks in an eight week course.
There’s very little fanfare to the start of your third week of the course, though it does seem like the fog has lifted even more. It’s a bit more of a trek down the abandoned streets of Estelline, but surely a mile is walkable? Or you could grab a bike or try to hotwire one of those cars in the mall parking lot… Whatever you plan to do this week is up to you. All you know is you've got some new locations to explore.
As always, Florence and Lorelei are available.
SUNDAY MONDAY TUESDAY WEDNESDAY THURSDAY FRIDAY
TASK LIST
( OOC Note: Luci, Mutsu, and Mae will each receive a small roomba! Congrats on the successful egg drop. It's a tiny little friend that cleans extra well, though this also means its trash compartment is a little smaller so it'll need to be cleaned more often. )

Or ice. They're magical beasts. Lizards aren't.

(This probably sounds really wierd out of context hear me out........ koi fish become dragons if they can leap for a hundred years and make it over waterfalls in legends.)
no subject
Things don't become dragons? Dragons are born dragons.
no subject
(NOthing in this world can be contained!)
Lemme guess... ya don't know what I'm talking about, right?
no subject
[He says, not realizing the can of worms he has just ripped open.]
But I've never heard anything about koi becoming dragons.
no subject
And if ya could, ya shouldn't!
(Like, you really shouldn't.)
It's a pretty famous story. A long time ago, there was a river and a bunch of koi were swimming up it. When they got to the end, they ran into a big ol' waterfall and decide that was the end of their journey. All of 'em swam back up the river 'cept one.

And that's the one that became a dragon? That seems like almost too happy of an ending.
no subject
(Of course it's a happy ending but it would be a pretty boring one if that was it.)
It kept trying to jump over the waterfall but it was just a li'l ol' koi so it couldn't make it. But it never gave up! It kept jumping for years and over time, a bunch of other people and spirits came to watch and laugh. They told 'im to give up and called 'im names.
It took the koi a whole hundred years 'til it could jump over the waterfall. When it did, it turned into a dragon.

That's a very stubborn little fish... but was it actually happy, becoming a dragon?
no subject
Stubborn's just another word for determination. (And he thinks for a second,) Can't imagine being unhappy becoming a dragon. It's a big upgrade from a fish!
no subject
[Hmmmm.]
Its life will be radically different and it will never be able to enjoy what it enjoyed before because nothing will just be the same - and it's not like the fish asked to be a dragon. Would you be happy if someone just forced your body to change into another creature entirely?
no subject
Hmmm. He thinks about that because in all of his experience, an upgrade has always been a good thing and he's always welcomed them but...)
I've been pretty happy so far. (And he sort of just, looks down at his hand,) Bein' a person ain't easy and I'm still figuring it out and all but... because I'm like this, there're a bunch of things I can do now that I never could before. I can carry myself where ever I want and 'cause I can do that, I can protect my master better than ever.
no subject
What were you before you were a person?
[Because that's, like, the weirdest thing about all of that.]
But what you experience won't be the same for everyone. The are creatures who will enjoy a metamorphosis but... how many would find it to be absolutely dreadful? Could you honestly say that everything would enjoy what happened to you? You can't.
