3.0 - week three
WEEK THREE
Last night might have been exhausting for any number of reasons - maybe it was the emotional
toll of dealing with those ghosts, or maybe you stayed up too late after watching Jim Shrok. Who knows, but Saturday is over, even if some of you haven’t quite left it behind and half spirits that are still hanging on, tethered to you and weighing you down…
But that’s not going to stop a new week from starting. There’s no breaks in an eight week course.
There’s very little fanfare to the start of your third week of the course, though it does seem like the fog has lifted even more. It’s a bit more of a trek down the abandoned streets of Estelline, but surely a mile is walkable? Or you could grab a bike or try to hotwire one of those cars in the mall parking lot… Whatever you plan to do this week is up to you. All you know is you've got some new locations to explore.
As always, Florence and Lorelei are available.
SUNDAY MONDAY TUESDAY WEDNESDAY THURSDAY FRIDAY
TASK LIST
( OOC Note: Luci, Mutsu, and Mae will each receive a small roomba! Congrats on the successful egg drop. It's a tiny little friend that cleans extra well, though this also means its trash compartment is a little smaller so it'll need to be cleaned more often. )

The entire... purpose of this exercise... is to manage a faster pace.
[No, he really could use a jock's advice here.]
no subject
Not really. The point of exercise is to work yourself up to a sweat but not to the extent where you can't breathe.
Did someone tell you otherwise?
[ Or maybe that is what Phantom assumed. Either he is all the more happy to prevent death by exhaustion here! He's far too much of a noodle. ]
no subject
[Unpleasant? Terrible? Suffering? Phantom puts a hand to the stitch in his side, and then the other hand to his arm. Why does everything hurt right now. It's only half his fault.]
How are you intended to improve quickly, then? Before next Saturday, by preference.
no subject
It's at least 75%!! ]
When getting in shape, there's always a steep learning curve.
[ But, hmm... ]
You're going to still have to pace yourself, you know. So starting off at a low speed and then slowly working your way up to higher levels is the way to go for now.
no subject
I can concede you may have a point. But how long would you expect that to take?
no subject
But, don't worry, you should at least have made an acceptable amount of progress by the end of the week!
[ Normally Xingqiu would say baby steps...which you know, is still slightly being implied, but he has a feeling the man is impatient. Not for any wrong reason.
They could be facing something far more dangerous than ghosts taking control of them and Voids. Which was bad enough in his opinion. ]
I'll give you some pointers too, since I'm feeling generous. Just be aware that you're probably going to want to recuperate after each bit of exercise, otherwise you'll easily overdo it.
no subject
I assure you that convincing me to recuperate will not be a problem.
[He already wants to sleep for a week! But he's too invested in not being eaten by a monster to quit now, so there's that.]
I accept your generosity. I have no intention of being easy prey for whatever this week's lesson is.
no subject
Oh, good. I was worried, after watching the little display earlier, after all.
[ ...which he'll kindly point out, because of course he does. ]
I admire your spirit. When you feel ready to start running again instead of the treadmill you can also do some laps around the courtyard to see how fast you can go without a machine. That sounds reasonable, right?
no subject
There are witnesses outside.
[Not at night but... there might be ghosts again?? Wait. Thanks to all the jocks, there were a ton of witnesses here too.]
But in practice, I'm more likely to need to run somewhere like that, I suppose. [UGH.]
no subject
When you think about it, there are witnesses everywhere, right?
[ Xingqiu is more than a little amused. It's ok, people will see your fail at some point, Phantom! ]
That's the spirit! Getting used to moving in an agile manner in surroundings other than with a machine is important too, after all.
no subject
[Although remembering Saturday's photo display...
Endgame will now be Phantom 1v1 against the mastermind to destroy pictures of his workout embarrassment.]I'll take your advice under consideration. And what do you suggest to regulate pace, outside of the machine?
