3.0 - week three

WEEK THREE

Last night might have been exhausting for any number of reasons - maybe it was the emotional

toll of dealing with those ghosts, or maybe you stayed up too late after watching Jim Shrok. Who knows, but Saturday is over, even if some of you haven’t quite left it behind and half spirits that are still hanging on, tethered to you and weighing you down…

But that’s not going to stop a new week from starting. There’s no breaks in an eight week course.

There’s very little fanfare to the start of your third week of the course, though it does seem like the fog has lifted even more. It’s a bit more of a trek down the abandoned streets of Estelline, but surely a mile is walkable? Or you could grab a bike or try to hotwire one of those cars in the mall parking lot… Whatever you plan to do this week is up to you. All you know is you've got some new locations to explore.

[ Hi, Gentaro. Hope you wanted Fai to pull up a chair right next to you.

He puts and elbow up on the table so he can rest his chin in his hand. ]

What are you up to?

[catarou]

[ Gentaro finds he enjoys Fai's company, which is... troubling on some level. He's not going to start pushing him away, of course, but it's something he simply hadn't expected to happen. ]

Why, I'm recording the most preciously kept secrets to being truly happy. You see, it came to me in a dream... Though, I am afraid they may not be terribly satisfying to many people.

[partymagician]

Oh, how fascinating!

[ He leans over to see if he can get a peek at what he’s written down, even though he’s likely to not understand it. ]

What’s one of those secrets?

[catarou]

[ Indeed, to Fai, it looks like a bunch of symbols... ]

Hmm. I suppose I can share.

[ He's not writing about that, but the next part is sincere. ]

It is spending a quiet evening with friends and good food. And, of course... excellent tea.

[partymagician]

[ He smiles softly as he rests his elbow on the table, pillowing his chin in his hand. ]

You know… I think you’re onto something there, especially with the tea.

[catarou]

I'm glad you agree.

[ He lets out a quiet hum. ]

This is only my preference, of course, but a night of stargazing would make it perfect.

[partymagician]

Stargazing, hmm? Do you like to look for constellations?

[ Gentaro seems like the type who would know the stories behind quite a few of them… at least in Fai’s opinion. ]

[catarou]

I do.

[ He pauses. ]

It's... strange. I've gotten used to recognizing them wherever I go. No matter where I travel, it is still the same sky. When one is away from home and those one loves, it's a comfort to look up at the night sky and trace the constellations.

[ It had been under those same stars that he, Dice, and Ramuda had bonded. Looking back, their bond then had been brittle, but it had been something, and for the first time in a very, very long time, Gentaro felt like he belonged. ]

Here, however... no matter how many times I try, I cannot find them.

They tend to be different in different worlds. When I first started traveling, it was strange to see a night sky that I didn't recognize.

[ He smiles a little bit. ]

The prospect of new constellations to learn is exciting, but an unfamiliar sky can also be lonely.
