02 - week two

WEEK TWO

When the glitter settles and everyone returns to their dorms - or wherever they intend to sleep for the night, if you’re planning on sleeping at all - your first week of school officially ends. Perhaps it was better than you expected, perhaps it was worse.

Hopefully you learned a bit more about teamwork and school spirit.

Still, this course is going to run for longer than a full week, and come Sunday morning you’re still exactly as you were when you settled down for the night. Still in Estelline, still with that mark on your wrist, still connected to your partner. There are some changes, though. The bookstore has received quite a few books, and those of you who added to the bulletin board and pep rally tasks in the first week will find an envelope taped to their dorm door (or themselves, if they spent the night elsewhere). Inside of the envelope is some kind of voucher! Furthermore, the common area is covered in a bunch of glitter.

Also, there are a ton of eggs in the kitchen – at least 10 dozens.

Florence or Lorelei are still available, should you wish to speak to them.

Finally, you've got some new locations to explore.

OOC NOTE

OOC: Anyone who performed in the Pep Rally (Sabo, Madara, Riku, Shizuku, Herlock, Idia, Flat, Miach) task will be able to redeem a voucher for a prize with one of the NPCs. This can be handwaved, and the prize selection is below.

-Single-serve coffee machine wither a selection of creamer. Comes with packs of coffee beans.
-Popcorn maker and kernels.
-High-quality tea kettle with a selection of just as high-quality tea.
-Carbonation machine (think Sodastream, etc) with flavored syrup.

Any coffee, tea, popcorn, etc. will last characters up to two weeks.

Anyone who participated in the Bulletin Board task will receive a voucher for your choice of two pairs colorful socks with cute animal designs. (Worry frog design available.)

But - but he hasn't proved himself evil!

[ Luci says as he tosses another egg for that umbrella. ]

-- Hey!! Farmers worked hard to produce those eggs.

[ His umbrella shields him, but wow, what a waste of good food! ]

Typical, giving credit to the Man. What about the hens, huh?

[ like he doesn't eat whole chickens.

But if the couple more eggs he tosses are any indication, he is taking this as a challenge. As he tosses, he cries-- ]

For the prolegg-tariat!

[ Not shrilly, but not not shrilly: ]

Women are farmers, too!!

[ Meanwhile, a dilemma: to catch the eggs and save their food OR to dodge the eggs and save his hair and clothes. ]

The what?? That's not a word!

Women can be part of the Man, too.

[ One more egg for good measure, only this one is delayed just long enough. It's Luci's attempt to throw off Chongyun's umbrella game. ]

[ Huh?? ]

I don’t understand how we go to this point, but I don’t know this farmer man you are talking about - who is apparently joined to multiple women??

[ IS THAT LEGAL? Is that appropriate talk for a cat-person-demon-thing? And never mind catching any eggs because he reflectively shields himself from this last one, too. ]

Hoo boy. Yeah, you understood all of that perfectly.

[ Luci scoffs at the shield, settling back again. This time, no egg. ]

Point is, hens did all the real work.

Then WHY are you destroying their eggs!?

[ Still holding up his umbrella. He won't be letting his guard down. ]

[totalcatastrophe]

[ Luci ha ha's at that. With some glee, he generously suggests-- ]

Wanna try catching it in your mouth?

[cloudalike]

[ NO??? ]

... How would that help anything?

[totalcatastrophe]

Then you aren't wasting it. Don't forget to eat the others off your umbrella.

[ Because clearly this is Chongyun's problem and not Luci's. This meta text is sarcastic. ]

You know... I completely believe that you aren't evil. Evil spirits aren't this annoying.

Rude. I am so evil, you don't even know.

[ Then, lower but not quite low enough for Chongyun to miss if he's listening carefully enough-- ]

You're just lucky you had a dumb umbrella, coward.

[cloudalike]

[ His sense are pretty good, so he yells back up: ]

It's not luck; it's fate. You were fated to fail on this day, just like the petty henchmen in the tales of yore.

[totalcatastrophe]

And your umbrella was fated for an egg wash today.

[ His tail makes one last sneak attack egg throw, a side curveball egg. ]

[ It's unfortunately true. ]

I... cannot deny that.

[ Reflexively blocking that last egg. ]

But you also cannot deny that I have stopped every egg with it, so please stop wasting more eggs.

Oh no, is fate keeping you trapped in one place too?

[ He might be out of eggs. Or he might just be bored now. ]

Well... yes? Are we not all trapped here currently?

[ Luci groans. I'm sorry about him. ]

No, dummy, not everyone is trapped in our line of fire.

No, I chose to stay here because I wanted to understand you better. And also to say hello to Mae.

Really? Well in that case, say hi, Mae.

[ Luci says it, in a much friendlier voice than usual, hoping she gets the hint. Out of sight from the ground, the tip of his tail points in Chongyun's direction in the air a few times before dropping. ]

Hey Chongyun!

[And then she will throw another egg at him, catching Luci's hint exactly.
