02 - week two

WEEK TWO

When the glitter settles and everyone returns to their dorms - or wherever they intend to sleep for the night, if you’re planning on sleeping at all - your first week of school officially ends. Perhaps it was better than you expected, perhaps it was worse.

Hopefully you learned a bit more about teamwork and school spirit.

Still, this course is going to run for longer than a full week, and come Sunday morning you’re still exactly as you were when you settled down for the night. Still in Estelline, still with that mark on your wrist, still connected to your partner. There are some changes, though. The bookstore has received quite a few books, and those of you who added to the bulletin board and pep rally tasks in the first week will find an envelope taped to their dorm door (or themselves, if they spent the night elsewhere). Inside of the envelope is some kind of voucher! Furthermore, the common area is covered in a bunch of glitter.

Also, there are a ton of eggs in the kitchen – at least 10 dozens.

Florence or Lorelei are still available, should you wish to speak to them.

Finally, you've got some new locations to explore.

OOC NOTE

OOC: Anyone who performed in the Pep Rally (Sabo, Madara, Riku, Shizuku, Herlock, Idia, Flat, Miach) task will be able to redeem a voucher for a prize with one of the NPCs. This can be handwaved, and the prize selection is below.

-Single-serve coffee machine wither a selection of creamer. Comes with packs of coffee beans.
-Popcorn maker and kernels.
-High-quality tea kettle with a selection of just as high-quality tea.
-Carbonation machine (think Sodastream, etc) with flavored syrup.

Any coffee, tea, popcorn, etc. will last characters up to two weeks.

Anyone who participated in the Bulletin Board task will receive a voucher for your choice of two pairs colorful socks with cute animal designs. (Worry frog design available.)

Ah... well, can't really understand all of it but. (He picks up one of the science books. It's about space! The sky!) This one.

They got pictures of the moon and stuff. I take a lot of pictures back home but I've never got a good one of the moon. Not like this.

[ Xingqiu isn't exactly one who would consider himself all about the science books, but there are wonders in such literature as well, like ones that speak about astrology, and the history behind those things. ]

It is really amazing, isn't it? The technology here is definitely different from what I'm used to. The way they can capture the moon and the stars in the pages of a book is quite unique.

[ He doesn't think he has seen such a thing back in his world just yet. But, it's a matter of time given the existence of the Kameras and all. ]

...I wonder if they've had people go straight to the moon already. That would make for quite an interesting tale.

(He nods in agreement,)

Some of the stuff here's a li'l older than what I'm used to but back home we're pretty old fashioned.

(Because the citadel, there are holograms and magic machines but they're out there washing their clothes the old fashioned way among other things.)

I know people've done a lot of things over the centuries but I never really knew how much 'til now. It's really amazing.

So, you come from a place where things are a little more advanced? I think that's the first I've heard of that.

[ How curious! But not impossible as far as Xingqiu is concerned. ]

...I guess you can say that the spirit of innovation truly can't be stopped once it's set in motion.

[tosa]

Some things, yeah.

(But not all things.)

Yeah! (Xingqiu gets it.) Time stops for no one! Once the ball starts rolling, it's gonna keep going and people're always gonna try to find more ways to do things. It's really something!

It is.

[ Just think about how there's proof that things have moved forward from history a long time ago...or well, there is in his world. It's only a matter of time that will catch up soon enough. ]

Not to mention it's bound to produce a deluge of interesting books in the aftermath. Though, there are certainly intriguing tales written before hand concerning the time and place of the people who've come before those discoveries.
