W1 SATURDAY

The first week of the Personal Enrichment Course draws to a close, which means it’s time for the first lesson. Hopefully by now you’ve gotten to know your classmates a bit better - but if you haven’t, that’s okay.

This first lesson is just going to be teamwork exercises, after all.

Bright and early Saturday morning, you wake up. Maybe you had a good night’s rest, or maybe you hardly got any sleep... Either way, the sun is shining, the day is beginning, and Lorelei's voice suddenly comes through everyone's tablets as well as the P.A. system on campus.

”Good morning. All students must report to the lecture hall by 8 o’clock for their first lesson. Lessons are mandatory. Please report to the classroom with its doors open.”

Which gives you about thirty minutes, so it’d be best to hurry. Do you want to be tardy? And if you think about bailing, well… you know what might happen if you fail the course.

When everyone gathers in the same hall they awoke in, Florence is there to greet you. They will gesture for everyone to take a seat, and once seated, the projector in the room turns on. Say hello to Lorelei and her usual cup of coffee.

“Good morning, everyone. Welcome to your first official exercise; today’s activities are designed to emphasize teamwork and cooperation so you are all more prepared for dealing with what’s yet to come. I have already split you into teams for the day, via raffle. There will be two activities total, and you will be completing them in the same teams. Regardless of whether you get along with your teammates or not, you’re going to have to figure out a way to finish each exercise successfully.”

She keeps that same calm, collected smile on her lips as she props up what appears to be a tablet of her own on her desk.

Cut the wires very carefully in this order: Green, yellow, blue, red. Verify when you're done.

[ honestly, ace doesn't see why everyone is panicking. sure, there's some pain and sure there are others involved, but it's fine? they'll be fine.

but hi, sorry team. someone's narcolepsy sometimes hits at bad times and he's hit with it while he's going to cut the wire. goodbye bye. hello face-button, too. ]

( and shizuku, who may be used to physical aches but certainly not getting zapped, lets out two quick, sharp screams in succession. if she's tearing up a little, don't look at her. )

What happened?!

[ OH FOR THE LOVE OF—

to fuckin gay baby jail you go for this because wow!! thanks!!!! ace gets to pass out while sabo gets to get zapped not once but twice. he better get to suffer this after he wakes up or life isn't fair.

anyway, thankfully he'll snatch the wire cutters from ace's hand after the second zap and quickly (but carefully) snip the wires in the order that madara had given them. ]

Done.

[ and he's shoving ace off the bomb. ]

[The zap nearly sends Idia flying backwards over in his chair with a loud "YEEK!" before he catches himself by dragging his shoes against the floor.]

[Shizuku is crying and he's too mad to notice right now. :(]

H- Hey! Didn't I say that meatheads shouldn't cut wires?!

[... but the "done" from meathead's keeper helps soothe things over a bit.]

... next, there should be a section where there's a series of colored lights. Tell us what color you see and we'll tell you what color to hit next. And be more careful!

[The zaps do have Cater ending up curled in half and gripping the table white-knuckled, though. There's yelling and pain and Ace is?? Asleep??? So just give him a second to respond, Idia, he's gotta gather 1) the tablet and 2) the bomb.]

[Reassurance there's no haphazard button smacking for now? Maybe?]

[He winces and ducks down at the shock for a moment, but he grits his teeth through it. Wrapping an arm protectively around Shizuku, he continues the process like absolutely nothing can shake him. He's dead calm.]

Hey, Cay. Hit blue for me.

[Deeep breaths. He's still a little shaken, but. They have to get through it.]

Kay. It's red-green, now.

Blue, then red, please.

( just... trying to catch her breath as she wipes her eyes real quick with her wrist. she hadn't cried for more than a few seconds, but it was enough that people noticed... ugh. )

[If he notices anything in Shizuku's voice, he at least has the decency to not comment...? But he is thinking about how she definitely didn't deserve all that.]

Mkay... Red-Green-Blue.

Blue, red, yellow.

[Getting distracted only means risking that again so, focus.]

Red-Green-Blue-Yellow.

[Focus, focus!]

Blue, red, yellow, green.

[Madara loosens his hold on Shizuku and leans over the notes.]

Almost there, Cay.

[The little "you did it!" chime is almost... jarring. But. Well.]

That was it!!

[And he is promptly (carefully!!!) setting the bomb back down on the table.]

Ah... well done, Cater. ( she sounds so warm! ) Then last is symbols... I need you to find a house with a trail leading up to it, with smaller houses, it looks like, in the back!

[ now that sabo has dumped ace somewhere (safe) where he can finish off his nap, he'll give cater a nod. ]

I got this.

[ so go rest my man. ]

The houses? Yes, what about them? [ after a quick moment. ] There are three other symbols among it in the same space.

[An aside that need not be responded to: he's fully slumped in the chair, feeling very frazzled and very uncute. Thank you for picking up the slack, Sabo.]

[Idia shuffles to leaning more forward, back in his Focused stance,]

You'll have to hit the symbols in the right order. The first one is what Milady Shizuku said, a group of houses with a path leading up to it...

[ if sabo is struggling after the zap then he's pushing right past it with gusto because despite his yelling at ace just moments ago, he's back on track and focused. they're almost through this. ]

Easy enough.

[ and the house button is pushed. ]

Next?

[Madara's tension is starting to get annoying, but he's confident in this team now.]

Next one's... a coliseum or a stadium. It's a big round building with a straight path leading up to it. Push that next, if you don't mind.

[ unsure if this will help because who knows what they have on the other side, but: ]

I have an "X" and a button with two arrows on it remaining.

Oh! That's the exact order, too! X, and then the arrows!

[ aand he will push the buttons in that exact order. x then arrows. which he will be rewarded with that cute little celebratory noise.
