06.50 - week six, saturday
W6 SATURDAY
It’s Saturday…and things seem a little more standard, this time, when Lorelei makes a quick announcement on the tablets again at 8am:
”Good morning, students. It’s time for your sixth…and final official lesson. Yes. What this means is that this is the final detected orb located here, and while this does not indicate the end of the course just yet, it is the final day for your evaluation. Florence will meet you in front of the grocery store at 8pm tonight. Please do not be late. You are also free to bring a self-defense weapon with you, and any pain-alleviating items you have received. Nothing else will be allowed.”
She seems to be her usual self this time, and this certainly seems a lot kinder than the "trust exercise" from last week.
—
With the memories of last week’s lesson still lingering, a bit of wariness would be understandable. Still, Florence did say that this week shouldn’t be nearly so bad - whether you believe them or not is up to you - and they’re there at the grocery store, ready for another lesson.
They do seem a bit distracted, as it takes them a moment before they address everyone.
“Hello. Today’s lesson will be focused purely on cooperation. It is another journey into an orb, so things may be unpredictable, but nothing so severe…”
They trail off, before nodding at nothing.
“There is a storm. You must prepare to survive it, and prepare for any other eventualities. As I said, it may be unpredictable. I will be around to help in any way I possibly can.”
With that, it’s off into another orb - and the lush island on the other side. Surely this won’t be too hard, right?

OOC NOTE
Welcome to Week 6 Saturday's event. As Lorelei stated above, this is the final orb lesson for the game. Characters will have to work together to survive on a deserted island through an oncoming storm. How this will work OOCly is simple:
There will be three phases. Planning, gathering, and constructing. Planning will be short and mostly designed to have everyone gather their bearings and figure out who's doing what. Gathering will be collecting materials to help with their survival. Constructing will involve fortifying your "home base" so to speak.
Gathering and Constructing will run for 2 hours each. At the 1 hour mark for both phases, however, random events will happen that may throw characters off-kilter. There may be other things in between depending on character actions, but you can expect them at the hour mark at the very least. Planning will only last for 30 minutes, unless an extension is needed.
These instructions are not IC. This is for OOC organizational purposes.
We also have a section for people to submit threads so we can track progress and determine the outcome of the event. Qualifying threads must have at least 5 comments from you; more details can be found on the top level below.
The storm will happen at 5pm EST.

( ... she could like... try one (1), but also she does not want to. also they smell pretty bad too, so like... )
... Let's not, but we can keep their location in mind just in case.
no subject
[Gonna... gather those instead of, you know, paying any further mind to the weird stinky berries.]
Mhm... But let's uh... not tell anyone about them just in case...
[He can see someone coming and gathering them for either adventure or pranks...]
no subject
thank god they stink, but at least if anyone decides to try this awful thing, it's also horrifically bitter.
but yeah. the others are great! she'll just load up the empty bag for those, save the blueberries which are delicate and will probably just be wrapped up and tucked safely into her smaller bag. )
Now... ah. Which way out again?
no subject
Anyway, loading up on the fruit that won't get smushed in his bag, too, before uh. Looking around at their surroundings and realizing they... didn't really... follow a path. And now they're surrounded by trees and jungle sounds and... hm. Time to turn... around? Maybe in the direction they came from?
(It's definitely not the direction they came from...)]
M-maybe it's this way? At least if we're off, then we should find the coast pretty easily, right...? And then we can follow it!
no subject
( oh my god are they going to go into the deep jungle. i'm crying.
uneasily, shizuku opens her compact and... well, she's going to keep it open and keep an eye on it. )
no subject
[They sure are...!
He probably should have brought his own compact, but, like, that'd be relying on Idia to open it randomly, too, and hmm.]
no subject
They are lost. They are very lost and wandering towards the jungle void, which quite literally looks like the void from earlier. It's inching towards them, very very slowly, and they can probably catch glimpses of some of the lost residents. ]
no subject
[Wait hold on is the Void getting closer? And are there People In The Void?]
Shizu-chan, I think we went the wrongest way...
no subject
mods were faster than me but this means i can redo my thing
( turning right around, and tugging cater with her- )
We're not going that way.
no subject
Yeah, we're totally not going that way.
[And, you know, folding in the event-- There's a rumbling, and then there's a mudslide approaching much faster than the Void, becoming a much more pressing issue more quickly.
So, you know. Gonna grab Shizuku's hand and start sprinting in the opposite direction.]
no subject
Where did that even come from?!
( BUT YEAH NO THEY'RE RUNNING. )
no subject
Enjoy, anyone who happens to see these two dumb kids just yeeting themselves out of the woods. It's fine, they're fine.
And winded, probably, but fine.]
Cay totally doesn't wanna know where it came from, but... we're safe...? Ish? Here? For now?
no subject
hell.
half-doubled over and supporting herself with her hands on her legs, shizuku nods. )
Y-yeah... It would make sense that- that this place would be safe though... it's the hub, so to speak. It's not going to be in danger until the storm comes.
( shizuku glances u- .... are those giant crabs? )
... Mostly. Mostly. What on earth...
no subject
On the one hand, they look... handled. On the other...]
Ah. Glad we're not the ones fighting them...
no subject
These lessons are really making me wish I had a bow and some arrows.
( and then, like she didn't just say that- )
I'm not sure how we could help, but we should keep an eye out in case we can...
( until then she's catching her fuckin breath though. )
