PROLOGUE

It doesn't matter where you are or what you're doing – something strange begins to happen. There's a sudden burning sensation that wraps around your right wrist and part of your forearm. If you glance at the affected area, you'll find that it's...glowing. The glow is pale blue, and it's so bright that it hurts to look at. The burn itself isn't so painful that you feel like keeling over just yet, but it does hurt nevertheless.
But before you have time to try to soothe the pain, you start to feel lightheaded, dizzy. Perhaps some of you may attribute this to any injuries you may currently be sustaining. For those who were previously unscathed, however, there's quite possibly no explanation for this other than the sudden appearance of the mysterious burn on your arm.
There is no time to mull it over, though, because it is the last thing that you see before the world suddenly fades to black.
When you regain your senses, your vision is blurry; but when it starts to even out and you survey your surroundings, you find yourself sitting in a rather uncomfortable chair. Looking around you’ll see rows and rows of chairs, all facing the same way towards a desk, a podium, and an empty wall. A projector hangs from the ceiling and the lighting is bright and artificial... For some of you, it might be reminiscent of a college lecture hall. For others, you might have never seen anything like this before.
Your wrist, by the way, feels perfectly fine...though there’s now some kind of strange marking on it. It looks like a scar of some sort, and if you choose to touch it, it doesn’t feel inflamed or damaged in any way...but that doesn’t mean you don’t experience any pain. Perhaps the last thing some of you remember is a hard-fought battle, and the aches from your injuries still linger; some of you might not even remember getting hurt, and yet, your body aches like it has; for the lucky ones who feel fine, well. Pray that it lasts for a little while longer.
Because the moment someone gets hurt – emotionally or physically – there’s a small chance you’ll feel it, too. Where and who and what it’s coming from, though, is on you to figure out.
In front of you on the desk is some kind of device – a tablet, for those of you who are familiar. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be capable of doing much of anything right now, other than take photos and videos with the Camera app. There's also a translating app for those of you who need help reading some of the text around campus, as it is all in English. (Verbally, however, you can understand everyone in your own language. Tablets are also in characters' native languages.) It seems to be incredibly durable and hard to break, but you may want to be careful with it regardless.
Something shifts in your pocket (or...in your socks/shoe/what have you, if pockets aren't a thing) as you move around. Should you reach in and feel for it, you’ll find some kind of card – those who are familiar with modern technology will recognize that this is some kind of card you need to swipe. It has your name and a photo of you on one side, and the back of the card has the word "KEYCARD" on it.
There are also other people here, scattered throughout this mysterious classroom you’re in. In fact, there’re a bunch of you — 29 others, to be exact.
And now... you’re free to do whatever you want. Mostly anything, at least, given that once you step outside and explore, you’ll notice an ominous fog behind the various buildings within view. Still, this is a good time to get your bearings, check on what you have - and don’t have - and talk to the people around you until orientation starts.
( OOC: Welcome to your Intro Log! The partner system is in effect for the Intro Log, meaning that yes, pain share is happening! For some notes regarding the partner system, your character will not know who their partner is upon arrival. It’s entirely possible that they find out now if their partner gets or is already injured, or if they can pick up on their mood. Otherwise, they’ll find out later today...!
Anyone who tries to leave campus grounds will have to enter through the fog, but no matter what, they will mysteriously wind up back onto campus grounds. And for clarification, the keycards are what characters need to gain access to their dorms!
Finally, we will have an NPC Reveal at 6pm EST today! )

[ Luci stretches his arms out before crossing them behind his head again. The purring ebbs and flows depending on the motion, but he's trying real hard not to care about that. ]
Please, bosses can do whatever they want. You work hard, right? You deserve to take it easy.
[ Like taking a petcation to pet a demon. ]
no subject
They're out of them. Although, this is me, taking it easy.
[ As much as he can with some depressing thoughts lingering in his head. After he's done with the hind legs, he pauses. ]
Do you want it anywhere else? Like your front legs?
[ Or arms. ]
no subject
[ He sounds way too amused.
Luci holds his arms up at Hien's offer. His hands are clearly hands up close, overly small in relation to the rest of him with two pointy fingers and what could be considered a thumb. ]
You know, you got issues if being kidnapped's the only time you 'take it easy'. Bet nobody'd notice if you slacked off more.
no subject
[ He starts rubbing the pain-relieving ointment over Luci's arms and hands. He's really getting the spa treatment with medicine, isn't he... ]
Nice hands, by the way.
no subject
[ Blink. First time anyone has given him that specific compliment before, which is really saying something for someone that's lost track of millenniums. This guy is all kinds of weird. But it beats boring. He wiggles the fingers in Hien's grip. ]
You know, besides a thing for hands.
[ He's still purring though. ]
no subject
[ He would have added "sane", but that's even more opinionated then claiming to be well-adjusted. Hien views them as two different things. ]
I actually don't have a thing for hands. I like humanoid legs a lot more.
[ He's a legs guy... Not sure if Luci has shadow beans in his hand despite it being a hand, so Hien massages them. ]
no subject
[ Going to go with... no visible beans but he might feel something akin to them. A rougher patch with no fur. Similar to his feet, since it's not like he can't walk on all fours naturally. Pretty much everything still seems to blend in with his non-reflective black fur, even the skin(??) beneath it, like he's a little furry shadow. ]
Okay, a little vanilla--What kind of humanoid legs we talking here? Beefy? Long? Stubby?
no subject
Yeah.
[ Eloquent. ]
I like long and slender legs, but they need to be wearing clothes that show them off very well. A bare leg isn't gonna do anything.
[ He finishes massaging Luci's hands and arms and ties a little bandage on his hind legs in a way that doesn't restrict his movements. ]
There.
no subject
[ Ugh, not much to pick at there. ]
What about stockings? Lingerie? Heels? You know, the depths of leg depravity know no bounds.
[ He says as the massaging stops, along with the purrs. Bandage finished, he stands up to scamper off Hien's lap (tail moving to loop the leg he climbs down for balance). Once grounded, Luci lifts the bandaged leg up in front of him, tilting it around to get a good look at that handiwork that he'll probably be ripping off soon. ]

You really wanna know? You can't take it back.
no subject
Look, bub, nothing you tell me is gonna shock me. So spit it out.
no subject
Okay. ]
Long slender legs look really good in leggings. They give the legs shape in a more obvious color and depending on the one you're wearing, they make the legs seem longer. But the combination that shouldn't be underestimated is the one with the garter, stocking, and shorts. That little gap between the shorts and the stocking that are barely held together by the garter is the real good shit. It's even better if they wear specific shoes that have heels, because they really accentuate how your legs look. Fishnets in particular. Black sheer stockings are nice too.
[ i hate i typed all this but also Hien is gonna keep going if Luci doesn't stop him. ]
no subject
Sorry. ]
no subject
And then he's... done and stares at Luci. Hien isn't afraid of being judged, but he usually gets a shocked reaction. ]
no subject
Dude, you know how tame that is? How long it'd even take you to calculate all that?
no subject
[ He shines in other aspects, he thinks. Like murder. Ruining lives. Political manipulation. The works. ]
I have a lot of time, so I might as well use it, you know. Time isn't so valuable once you have a surplus of it.
no subject
[ Well, they have that second part in common.
Or, well, they did. ]
But tell me about it-- [ sigh ] I taught kindergarten in hell for 9,000 years, you know.
no subject
What's that even like...? Are you teaching dead babies? What do you even teach?
This feels like its flirting with needing a tw so uh, tw: kids in hell??
Kids suck at having cool fears.
tw: kids in hell (cont.)
[ Since Luci mentioned 9000 years, Hien assumes that's enough to build a high standard for something like this. ]
Or maybe you should lower your expectations.
tw: kids in hell (cont.)
[ Luci waves a hand dissmissively in the air as he keeps talking. He sounds pretty proud of himself. ]
Nah. I got promoted.
no subject
[ He's not very familiar with how hell works, but he did read the 72 Solomon demons etcetc ]
no subject
[ Somehow he manages to sound even prouder.
... and okay, he's skipping one or two millennia probably but whatever! No one needs to hear how he managed to stay at level 0 for so long. ]
no subject
[ Sounds like being a servant to him... ]
no subject
[ This topic is making him feel weird again. It's one thing to be here at all, but he can't help but glance towards the door. ]
That crazy bitch better be around here somewhere. Let me know if you see a drunken, buck toothed loser wandering around, would you?
