PROLOGUE

It doesn't matter where you are or what you're doing – something strange begins to happen. There's a sudden burning sensation that wraps around your right wrist and part of your forearm. If you glance at the affected area, you'll find that it's...glowing. The glow is pale blue, and it's so bright that it hurts to look at. The burn itself isn't so painful that you feel like keeling over just yet, but it does hurt nevertheless.
But before you have time to try to soothe the pain, you start to feel lightheaded, dizzy. Perhaps some of you may attribute this to any injuries you may currently be sustaining. For those who were previously unscathed, however, there's quite possibly no explanation for this other than the sudden appearance of the mysterious burn on your arm.
There is no time to mull it over, though, because it is the last thing that you see before the world suddenly fades to black.
When you regain your senses, your vision is blurry; but when it starts to even out and you survey your surroundings, you find yourself sitting in a rather uncomfortable chair. Looking around you’ll see rows and rows of chairs, all facing the same way towards a desk, a podium, and an empty wall. A projector hangs from the ceiling and the lighting is bright and artificial... For some of you, it might be reminiscent of a college lecture hall. For others, you might have never seen anything like this before.
Your wrist, by the way, feels perfectly fine...though there’s now some kind of strange marking on it. It looks like a scar of some sort, and if you choose to touch it, it doesn’t feel inflamed or damaged in any way...but that doesn’t mean you don’t experience any pain. Perhaps the last thing some of you remember is a hard-fought battle, and the aches from your injuries still linger; some of you might not even remember getting hurt, and yet, your body aches like it has; for the lucky ones who feel fine, well. Pray that it lasts for a little while longer.
Because the moment someone gets hurt – emotionally or physically – there’s a small chance you’ll feel it, too. Where and who and what it’s coming from, though, is on you to figure out.
In front of you on the desk is some kind of device – a tablet, for those of you who are familiar. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be capable of doing much of anything right now, other than take photos and videos with the Camera app. There's also a translating app for those of you who need help reading some of the text around campus, as it is all in English. (Verbally, however, you can understand everyone in your own language. Tablets are also in characters' native languages.) It seems to be incredibly durable and hard to break, but you may want to be careful with it regardless.
Something shifts in your pocket (or...in your socks/shoe/what have you, if pockets aren't a thing) as you move around. Should you reach in and feel for it, you’ll find some kind of card – those who are familiar with modern technology will recognize that this is some kind of card you need to swipe. It has your name and a photo of you on one side, and the back of the card has the word "KEYCARD" on it.
There are also other people here, scattered throughout this mysterious classroom you’re in. In fact, there’re a bunch of you — 29 others, to be exact.
And now... you’re free to do whatever you want. Mostly anything, at least, given that once you step outside and explore, you’ll notice an ominous fog behind the various buildings within view. Still, this is a good time to get your bearings, check on what you have - and don’t have - and talk to the people around you until orientation starts.
( OOC: Welcome to your Intro Log! The partner system is in effect for the Intro Log, meaning that yes, pain share is happening! For some notes regarding the partner system, your character will not know who their partner is upon arrival. It’s entirely possible that they find out now if their partner gets or is already injured, or if they can pick up on their mood. Otherwise, they’ll find out later today...!
Anyone who tries to leave campus grounds will have to enter through the fog, but no matter what, they will mysteriously wind up back onto campus grounds. And for clarification, the keycards are what characters need to gain access to their dorms!
Finally, we will have an NPC Reveal at 6pm EST today! )

Niiice reflexes!! Don't worry, I'm not gonna shoot a man who doesn't deserve it!
no subject
[Although the way he phrases the second part makes his adamant pout turn into more surprise and confusion.]
... like a gun?!
no subject
[Okay, maybe he shouldn't laugh, since the guy's a little turned around right now. Much like everyone else, sure.]
I don't have a gun, they're toootally against the law where I'm from!
no subject
The- the way you said it definitely sounded like a real one. Like, shooting a man who does deserve it... It's not just me, right?!
[... but there's no one to consult with! He's just left with this strange suspicion that this is a cowboy and no proof!]
no subject
Ahaha, just a little word play, you knooow? I only use prop guns! I've never shot a real one in my life!
[That might be a lie, but you could not guess.]
I've taken pleeenty of selfies, though. See?
[Look, he's showing a great selfie on his tablet!]

[While Madara starts showing off selfies, Idia is distracted by the implications. There were two possibly outcomes to someone talking about props. The scarier prospect was that they were some sort of performer, like Vil. That meant they were an UBER extrovert that should be avoided at all costs! The other, tantalizing option was... the rare spot where a normie could be accepted by otaku- cosplayer?]
[What would be the easiest way to figure out the truth...?!]
Your... props... do you make them yourself?
[It's not a foolproof plan, since he'd seen some people outsource the costume construction or prop management and just focus on the posing and styling but- this kind of question should reveal an otaku immediately!]
this is my favorite tag i have ever received in my rp life
Madara grins, waving his free hand. He's not quite sure what the question is getting at, but he'll answer comprehensively, as helpfully as he can.]
Nooothing like that, not usually. I can do a little sewing on costumes here and there, but props I haven't eeeven touched. Maybe set pieces? I'm an idol, so we have other stuff we have to focus on first!
[Like dancing, singing, and ruining the careers of assholes.]
spot the cosplayer (affectionate)
Idol... with a gun?!
[That could be a gimmick that worked, maybe, like, it would be super easy to imagine for an online personality. Or, like, maybe in some sort of huge-casted mobile game. Just throwing ideas out there.]
... w- wait, isn't taking a photo with an idol usually something you have to wait in line for, or win a drawing, or pay? I- I don't have any money!
no subject
My unit's theme is Western, like cowboys! Aaand my other unit is detective themed. I'm just your average law-abiding citizen with confetti and bubble guns instead!
[Literally they have bubble guns in their collab song. But. Anyway. It is a gimmick that works when the other themes and gimmicks are batshit too.]
Heeey, who has money? Not me, either! The first fanservice is free of charge, since we're aaall in this together! And the selfies don't count, because that was my fault. You're an innocent bystander having a chance encounter, that's all!
no subject
[Idia's first concern is that a group that leans too heavily on a theme might be gimmicky but- well, judging an idol group without listening to any of their songs is a bit much even for him. ... and a confetti-gun and bubble-gun during the break between songs did sound pretty hype.]
Eh, wait, so you would eventually start charging?!
[The man plays games with a contract-man and pro swindler he's immediately worried about what's going to count as fanservice, like, does it have to be formally stated, like, a wink could be proper fanservice! If he got winked at twice would he become indebted to a cowboy detective idol?!]
[... not that he wouldn't read that light novel concept!]
no subject
Haha, no way, no waaay. I'm not in the habit of taking money from people who don't have it!
[Madara is used to swindlers and ne'er-do-wells of a slightly different ilk, but he's not going to be like them when this place is already an unknown. Might as well build goodwill and good rapport immediately, just in case he has to rely on anyone.
He's no hero, and this isn't benevolence, he tells himself. It might well just be survival.]
But if you end up asking for me to blow you a kiss or make heart hands it miiiight be a little different. Those're hard for a guy like me!
[And he winks, completely negating that statement.]
no subject
[Especially if he did accept the idea of exchanging goods and services for fanservice. There's a dangerous path there.]
W- Well, you're off duty a- anyways.
[They are all... now... indefinitely off duty...]
