04 - week four
WEEK FOUR
Saturday comes to a close, and it’s time for some rest and recovery. Perhaps the TLC you deserve will come this week, or perhaps the nightmare will continue. It’s hard to say with things being so strange around you, from Wei Wuxian’s disappearance to the sudden addition of objects and places and creatures from your homes. Who knows what this week will bring? Nothing ordinary, that’s for sure.
You wake up on Sunday to an increase in those little glimpses you saw yesterday. What were snippets of songs, locations that might’ve seemed familiar, and creatures that were dormant, are now all alive and whole. When you go to the karaoke bar, the songs you once knew are there. Monsters and animals are alive and sentient. New business are abound. Vehicles are operable, and perhaps some of your old belongings are back, too.
However, some of these things aren’t even things that should exist outside of your dreams. They may be far too strange and unusual to be real, or just things you don't remember ever seeing. The only thing you remember about these things in particular is that they were, quite literally, in your dreams this week.
That being said, every few hours, all of these things from your homes and dreams fade out and get replaced by new sounds, places, beasts….only to maybe come back again at another time.
Well. At least there's one constant here: You’ve got a handful of new locations to look at, with the fog having spread once more, and they aren't going anywhere. There aren’t as many new places that are native to Estelline this time around, but that may be for the best, considering everything going on.

OOC NOTE
OOC: Details on this week can be found here!
Also, we have a lot of participants for the news activity from last week. Neat! Everyone who participated in some capacity will have a small polaroid camera delivered to their doorstep. There's limited film, though - 10 photos per camera. It doesn't seem like there's any extra film at this time, either.
Finally, there will not be any weekly tasks this week. You guys are going to be busy with memshare and dreamscape stuff; instead, enjoy the Estelline University Newspaper!

Strangely, he feels sympathy for them both, knowing as little as he does, knowing that it's very likely he'll never have the full picture.
He looks to Owen and leans against the wall, arms crossed over his chest. ]
Whether or not you forgive me is not my decision, of course. I would understand if you didn't.
[ A pause. ]
Just as you did earlier, I came in through a portal, knowing full well that your memories are far from my business.

like he’s grasping for… something.]
Well, what do you think of my memory? Is it everything you’ve imagined?
[And, as he often does when he’s cornered, he… tries to go on the offensive, tries to grab any semblance of control he can.
In the background the memory of Owen forces out a laugh, trying to gloat about how he’s the cause of all of Cain’s pain and suffering.
Everything is Owen’s fault. Always.]
You just couldn’t help yourself.
no subject
No. I couldn't have imagined this. Do you expect me to derive any pleasure or satisfaction from it?
[ He fixes Owen with a stern look, but his voice isn't harsh. It's even, but it betrays none of that understanding and sympathy he feels. ]
No, I couldn't. There's no use in denying that. [ He inclines his head toward Owen. ] But then, I could say the same to you. You've seen one of my memories. Now I've seen one of yours.
no subject
Are you not glad to see I'm exactly the sort of terrible person you thought I was? I tried to kill him.
[It's discomfiting, seeing his memories on the outside - for as much as they're his. He doesn't remember the conversation he had with Cain, what led to Cerberus attacking the other wizard, and seeing it...
It's still not something he understands. There's something he's missing from this, same as Gentaro.]
We're even, then. Not that I can go take you out to a cafe with all these thorns in the way.
no subject
[ A pause, where he visibly hesitates. It's uncomfortable to admit this to Owen of all people, but... ]
Why would it, when I know very well how that feels? Not to this extent. However, I am very well-acquainted with how it feels to be thrown away and isolated and treated as less than.
[ But onto the offer. Gentaro considers that, raising his eyebrows. ]
If you're so determined, feel free to return that favor when we escape from this.
no subject
Do you really think that's going to happen? Or that we'd even see each other again if it does?
no subject
[ He hums, though, as he brings a hand up to his chin. ]
But perhaps it isn't as out of the question as it seems. We were brought here somehow, hm? [ a quiet chuckle-- ] Ah, have you grown sincerely fond of me...? My heart is all aflutter.
no subject
[It's kind of a ghost town, and all.
He gives Gentaro a blank look.]
Don't get ahead of yourself. I don't think you'd last five minutes in my world, anyways.
no subject
[ Ah, that's right. He hasn't told Owen what his ability is. He looks amused, actually. ]
On the contrary, I need only see your own magic to be able to hold my own. My rap ability is to copy others' abilities.
no subject
It's pretty clear that's piqued his interest, though, all thoughts of more dates discarded.]
Is that so? How many things can you copy at once? Can you copy something's full strength, or is it just a pale imitation?
